NOTE: Sorry about my grammar. It's not my best. In chapter two I used the wrong threw, and I cringed. Brace yourselves the bad grammar is coming.
It was getting to the point where Miku didn't know what to do with her hair anymore. Braiding it ached her fingers, brushing it eventually caused knots, and keeping it down made it get dirty, get more knots, and get everywhere. Miku loved her hair. But at times she wished she could cut it. She gets it trimmed at times, but not short. Her hair was something signature about her, so she wasn't ever aloud to cut it. Today she stood in front of her full length mirror and made her fingers imaginary scissors, pretending to cut her hair with a smile. She sighed and put it into a hair tie. She then divided it into two parts, and wrapped them around each other. This created a heavy, messy bun on top of her head. It looked nice. It said she wasn't vain, but she could still look good without needing to be.
Miku pulled on her baby hairs, brought them to surround her face. Complete. Eventually she will need to bring it down, the weight would kill her neck. Especially if they go swimming. If she let her hair down, then it would get caught. If she wore it in a cute bun, it would get too heavy and hurt her neck. Maybe she could have Len hold her hair for her. He's done it before. They went swimming together once, and when her hair got caught in something, Len became so concerned he voluntarily held the blue strand-like hairs as they swam. Nice boy Len is.
The door bell rang, and Miku gathered her things. Two back packs, and a normal cloth bag that held more delicate items. It was a struggle to carry everything and when she got to the door, she had to put everything down to open it. When she did, crisp air sprinkled on her face. In a way it was relaxing. Len was standing at the door, smiling slightly. His hair up as usual and his heavy bangs covered sides of his face. He wore his light blue zip up hoodie, tan pants, and white shoes. He looked relaxed. When Miku looked up again, she noticed there was a bandaid on his cheek. Little Len, always clumsy and hurting himself. So many times Len had come to her with a new injury, and a somewhat funny excuse. Their directors didn't like it though. Fans really like Len, creepily too. If he wasn't so bruised and battered there would be more songs and videos with him shirtless, showing off his fourteen year old muscles.
Miku stared at the bandaid for a moment, and opened her mouth to ask where this one came from, but Len stopped her.
"Let me help you with that Miku. We've got room in the car." Len grabbed both of her backpacks and slung them onto his back, wincing for a moment. Miku didn't seem to notice. The two of them carried the bundles to the big car. A man they didn't know sat in the front, ready to drive them. A chauffeur. Miku knew how this went. Because Len and RIn were too young to drive, this man did it for them. He would drive them there, then leave and come back at the time assigned. Perks of being a Vocaloid. The stranger opened the trunk for them, and Len gently placed her bags in front of everything. Things were piled everywhere. Two coolers. Lots of firewood. Two bags of dry food. A couple backpacks. It was a huge trunk. In the seats, Rin and Gumi were holding things. Tents, chairs. Paper towels, pillows and sleeping bags. They had a lot. There was enough room for Len and Miku to sit. Gumi and Rin sat in the two seats just behind the drivers', and there were three behind merged together Miku and Len could have together. More things were piled on the spare seat. Len climbed in carefully, grabbing Miku's hand leading her to the back with him. She smiled and buckled in when she finally sat. Behind them the trunk automatically shut, along with the door they came in through.
Miku was tired. She made a horrible decision staying up the night before. She was awake all night watching drama tv shows, eating ice cream and listening to music. Her voice sang loudly as she walked around her secluded home, listening to her music. Of course songs she had done herself. She loved them. By the time she got tired enough to actually sleep, all the clocks in the house read 4:13. Sometimes she was so caught up in herself she lost track of the world. She woke up at 9:00 this morning, because Len wanted to get to the site by 12:00.
The lack of sleep was catching up to her. She knew they had two hours until they reached their destination, so she thought she could sleep. Slowly but surely, Miku rested her head against Len's shoulder. Her shoulder and side pressed up to his and she fell into blissful sleep. Len stiffed up and tried his hardest not to move so as to not wake her up. Miku Hatsune was pressed against him, softly, and gently. His heart was skipping two beats, and he couldn't be happier. Copying her, Len rested his head on top of Miku's. Thankfully it wasn't his cut cheek; otherwise the pressure would have hurt. Her hair was soft against him, and he closed his eyes, thinking about the weekend to come.
. . .
Rin sat next to Gumi, and she kept her eyes on her DS, her mind trained to the digital puppies on the screen. Gumi sat next to her, awkwardly. Len had set up the seating arrangement. Rin was baffled he got her to do it, somehow. She remembered feeling so guilty a few nights ago when she hurt him again. She went banging on the bathroom door, calling to him and sobbing. She was apologizing, and asking for his forgiveness.
"I'll do anything Len, please. Just forgive me." In the end, Len asked Rin to sit with Gumi, and try to be her friend. Rin agreed immediately, and when he eventually opened the door, Rin rushed into him and gave him a big crushing hug. Where she hit him had hurt when she did this, but Len didn't do anything or say anything. He just smiled and hugged her back. He was happy Gumi could enjoy a weekend for once.
As the minutes passed Rin could feel herself start to regret that decision. She could have just left him be for a while. Len would eventually forgive her, he'd have to. He would just stay in the bathroom the rest of the night, and then he'd wake up the next morning and make them breakfast and pretend everything was okay. Because it was. It always was. As Gumi sat and talked about her excitement and experience with camping, Rin simply nodded and said yeah occasionally. Gumi didn't notice, she was just excited to be with everyone.
After two hours of sleeping, playing games and rambling on, the large car pulled into the site and the man parked. When the vehicle came to a stop, Rin immediately unbuckled her seat and climbed to the back. Her hand gripped Len's shoulder and she shook him violently.
"Wake up. We're here." Len came to groggily and looked around. Miku still rested against him, but he lightly shook her until her eyes opened.
"We've arrived Miku. We're gonna start setting up things if you wanna help." Miku yawned and smiled.
"Sure. Yeah I can do that." Len unbuckled and collected things as he left the car. Gumi stood too, grabbing the two tents as she left. Leaving Miku in the car. Through the windows she could see the site. Len and Rin were putting things on a picnic table they brought. It wasn't a normal campsite. They just ventured into the beautiful nature and picked a large clear spot, where a fire pit could easily be created. Len grabbed chairs and set them up in a circle. Gumi was struggling to open up a tent.
Miku had always felt strange around Gumi. Especially when they did Matryoshka. Acting strange and out of the box was so natural for Gumi that it was unsettling. She even kept the clothes and wore them quit often. Miku squiggled in her seat before she got up and left the car. The man opened the trunk for Miku and she pulled out her things, bringing them to the table and moving to help Gumi with the tent.
"Have you ever been camping before?" Miku asked Gumi as she slipped the tent out of the bag slowly. Gumi kept her eyes on the tent as she spread it out.
"Twice. By myself. Kind of. Not really by myself. There were others, I guess. It was nice." Gumi smiled and brought out the poles. Miku opened her mouth to say something, confused by Gumi's statement, but Rin called her over.
First day of the trip, and Gumi was already saying weird things.
