Hi guys! Sorry about the delay, writer's block. I'm going to go ahead and warn you that this chapter is just a filler between excitement. I needed to tell some backstory as well, and this is how I'm doing it.

I'd like to thank cartec677 for following and favoriting!

Episode 4: Dark Memories

It had been almost three days since Axel began going to school, and it was Friday! Chase's mom had agreed to pick them all up from school and bring them to her house for the marathon.

The three earth-dwellers were sitting in the front two seats of the vehicle and the other two were in the back seat. With Skillet blaring through the speakers of the car, Axel and Angel just whispered so they wouldn't be heard. "I'm so glad you could come!"

"You have absolutely no idea how hard it was for me to convince Lord Megatron to allow me to come."

"I bet… he's such a stiff."

Axel gave her a look of annoyance, "Cut that out…"

"Decepticon…"

"Autobot…" They both chuckled.

Chase turned around and smiled at them, "Having fun back there?"

"Leave them alone Chase!" Kiara shoved the ginger.

Chase's mother, Jane, smiled back at the group. "We're almost there; I have some cookies at the house for you guys."

"Thank you Mrs. Ortiz!"

They pulled up in front of a small house; the group piled out and went inside. Sitting on the counter was a batch of warm chocolate-chip cookies.

The five grabbed two cookies and jumped onto the couch; Chase turned on the PS3 and went to Netflix. She went to and episode of Doctor Who called Rose.

Axel watched with a smirk; humans had a strange way of interpreting aliens. The show was interesting and funny. They watched episode after episode until they came to one called, Dalek.

The human Decepticon stared in awe of the small robot who acted even more sadistic than Megatron. The Dalek was killing mercilessly and then it said one line that made the boy's breath catch in his throat. "I shall follow the primary order: the Dalek instinct to destroy."

"Am I…" Axel thought sadly, "Am I as loyal and by the book as that Dalek? Maybe I am…" His eyes closed as the scars on his back began to ache. "I… I am… I am like that Dalek…" A memory came to him; a memory he had tried his hardest to forget…

Seven year old Axel was outside of Kaon. Megatron sent him on his first mission ever, gather Intel of the whereabouts of an Autobot Energon stockpile. He peaked around a corner and could see the Autobots called Smokescreen and High Wire.

He decided to tail them, using his small size to keep out of sight. Suddenly, he tripped over a scrap of metal causing a pile of metal to fall over.

"What was that?" The two Autobots turned and spotted the boy. "Is that a service droid?" They saw the Decepticon symbol on his suit. "It's a Decepticon spy! Catch it!"

"Scrap!" The boy ran and dove under an outcropping. "Knock Out! Knock Out!" He called into his comlink. "I've been spotted by two Autobots, I need help!"

The medic replied, "I'll come and get you, don't worry!"

The boy sat there, the Autobots still trying to get at him, when the sound of jet and car engines came closer. Smokescreen and High Wire were suddenly distracted by a group of Vehicon troopers.

High Wire was knocked to the ground, where he could see the boy. "You're not a service droid… you're a human!" The Autobot had no time to think as the boy held out his arm and fired a laser right into his face. "AH!" On instinct, Axel aimed for the middle of High Wire's chest.

The next shot the human would fire, would offline his first Autobot. High Wire's spark was blown to bits as the shot pierced his armor. His blue optics dimmed and went out. "I… I killed him…" Axel stared at his hands, "I killed an Autobot…"

The body of High Wire was pushed aside as the red optics of Knock Out appeared. "Are you alright?" The boy nodded. "Did you do that?" Again, Axel nodded. "Good job!"

"I didn't… I was scared so I tried to protect myself… I didn't try to offline him…"

Knock Out picked the boy up, "I know, your first kill can be a bit unsettling but you'll get over it." As they began to walk back, there was a sympathetic look in the medic's optics. "Lord Megatron is not happy with how your mission went."

The boy cowered down and was silent the rest of the way back to Kaon. The red medic set the boy down outside the throne room. "Do I have to go in there alone?" Knock Out nodded. "Ok then…"

Axel went inside where the Decepticon leader sat, waiting for him. "Axel, you have returned."

"Lord Megatron," the human knelt, "I'm sorry… this was my first mission and I made a rookie mistake. I won't fail again…"

"No… you won't…" Megatron's optics flashed dangerously. "Though, you offlined your first Autobot today, you must learn not to fail me."

"I have learned…"

"NO!" Megatron stood up and grabbed the boy, setting him on a table, "I will make sure you never forget what happens to those who fail me!" He picked up an Energon prod. "Take down the top part of your suit…"

Axel removed the part above the waist. The leader of the Decepticons motioned for him to turn around and kneel; the boy did as he was told.

With an evil grin, Megatron raked the Energon prod across the boy's back; creating a large scar that went from his neck to the bottom of his back, and it bled profusely.

"AHH!" Axel screamed in pain. "MY LORD, PLEASE! STOP! I BEG YOU!" Megatron continued to punish the human; when he was finished, Axel passed out from pain and loss of blood.

"Uh…" Axel slowly opened his eyes. "My back…"

"You're lucky he didn't kill you." Breakdown and Knock Out stood nearby.

Axel's eyes pleaded up at the two bots. "It hurts… please, heal it, treat it, or make the pain stop. Anything!"

"We can't… Lord Megatron forbid us from helping your wounds any more. He wants this to be a lesson for you." The two medics looked like they wished they could do more for him.

As the boy relaxed, the pain still throbbing in his back, a single thought penetrated his mind, "I won't forget this lesson; I won't fail you again…"

"Hey! Earth to Axel!" Chase's outburst shocked the boy. "Sorry… but, my mom was wondering what kind of pizza you liked."

The raven-haired boy shook the vapors from his head. "I… I don't really care… whatever you guys want…"

"Alright…" Chase paused the show and went to tell her mom; Kiara and Luciano went to the two separate bathrooms.

Angel looked sad, "You ok?"

"Yea… it's just, this episode brought back a bad memory."

"You wanna talk about it?" Angel put her hand on his. The boy shook his head. "Well, if you ever want to, I'm here to listen."

Chase came back in and cleared her throat. "Um, am I interrupting anything?" The two on the couch pulled back, blushing. When the other two humans came back, Chase pressed play and let the episode continue.

Later on, in the same episode, that same Dalek was using the Doctor's companion, Rose as a hostage. Both Angel and Axel watched with wide eyes; this brought back a memory for both of them…

It was around one-earth week after the two humans had met; every day since, Axel and Angel had met to talk. Now, the two factions were locked in combat once more. The two kids were fighting each other, with the battle rigged so that Axel would win this time. This time, the fighting was over an abandoned weapons depot.

Megatron called for a retreat; Axel, punched the Autobot girl before he took off running. "Oh no you don't…" Sure Shot had seen him punch Angel. He fired a shot at the boy's feet. The explosion threw Axel off his feet and sent him rolling.

"Ow…" Axel stood and continued running. As he jumped upwards, he tried to activate his rocket boots, but they wouldn't work. "Slag!" The explosion knocked out his rocket boosters. He continued to run; once he was out of plain sight, he hid behind a crate of Energon.

The Autobots stood outside the depot, celebrating their victory. Remix reached over and helped her daughter up. "You ok?"

"Yea… glad we won!" She turned around with a smile. "I've never been to this depot before… Hey, Ironhide! You want me to go check and see what kind of supplies they got in there?"

"Sure short-stuff." The black Autobot gave her a thumbs up.

The girl ran into the depot and began taking inventory. She never noticed Axel nearby. "I don't want to fail Lord Megatron again…" the pain in his back grew worse. His eyes grew sad. "I hate to do this Angel… but I won't face my master's wrath again."

Axel snuck around behind her, reaching to his belt and grabbed a pair of Energon cuffs. The girl had her hands clasped behind her back, walking leisurely around. "Sorry…" The human Decepticon swiftly reached out and clasped the cuffs around her wrists.

"WHAT!?" The girl was grabbed and dragged back.

"Angel… I'm sorry."

"Axel! What are you doing?" Her voice was urgent.

He pushed her forward, forcing her to walk in front of him. "I don't want to do this, but…"

"You're going to use me as a hostage!" Angel's eyes were angry and sad. "Why?"

"I'm sorry, My Angel…" He continued to push her ahead of him. "I won't disappoint Lord Megatron again. You don't know what his true wrath is like; if you did, you wouldn't want to fail him either."

The girl struggled against him, but Axel was stronger. He pushed her outside the depot, out into the open in front of the Autobots. "OPTIMUS PRIME!" The entire group of Autobots turned.

"Angel!"

"I'm fine…"

The boy called out loudly, "This depot belongs to the Decepticons! All Autobots will vacate the premises or else…" His hand turned into a sword and he pressed it against Angel's neck.

Optimus called into the comlink. "All Autobots, retreat at once."

"That's it, Prime…" The blade was removed from her neck. "Once you all leave, I'll let her go."

The Prime nodded, "Angel, we'll be waiting for you near Iacon." The girl nodded slowly.

All the Autobots left, leaving the two children alone. Axel unlocked the cuffs and stepped away. "You better get outta here before my crew gets here."

She turned away silently and ran off, tears welling up in her eyes. As the girl approached Iacon, her mother ran over and scooped the girl into her servos. "Oh Angel! You're ok!" The child was shaking in her mother's servos. "Are you hurt?"

"No… I'm fine…"

Later, Angel left Iacon and headed for her normal meeting place with Axel. As she went inside, there was Axel, sitting on a pile of rubble. "I didn't think, you'd come…"

"I didn't think you would either…"

The girl sat next to him. "Did you get in trouble?"

"Nope," he wrung his hands, "I actually got promoted; I'm now a Lieutenant in the army."

"Congrats…" her voice was hollow.

"Look Angel…"

Angel turned sharply, "You threatened to kill me! You took me hostage! What got into you?"

"I… I don't know." He put his face in his hands. "I was just scared… scared of what Lord Megatron might do to me if I came back empty handed. I knew that Optimus would never let me hurt you so I knew that no harm would come to you, even though I did take you hostage." He looked up at her, "I promise you, on the Allspark that I would never intentionally harm you."

She stared into his eyes silently and had no doubts that his word was true.

"Hey!" This time it was Luciano that snapped the two back to reality. "You two keep zoning out, what's up?"

Angel blinked, "Sorry you guys. Just lost in thought I guess."

"What she said." Their friends let them off with this excuse.

The small group of humans sat on the couch till three in the morning; they watched two seasons of Doctor Who in one night. The ended after the episode, Doomsday."

As Remix drove up to the house and allowed Angel into her cab, she asked, "Did you have a good time?"

"Yea," the teen yawned and leaned the seat back, "it was a blast! I can't wait for tomorrow…"

Axel opened a groundbridge and went back to the Nemesis; Knock Out was sitting in the medical bay awaiting him. "So… how'd it go?"

"Wonderfully!" He gave a big yawn and climbed into the Con's hand. "I've gotta show you guys that show! Ya'll would love it!"

He let the human down at his little house in the back of the med bay. As the boy went inside, the red Decepticon smiled, "Humans…"

I know this chapter was kinda weird, but I needed to add in some backstory so this is how I went about it. I hope you liked it! The next one will add some action, promise!

Next time…

Angel and Axel have settled in to human life and made some great friends, but with a war on, and one side willing to do whatever it takes, how long can they keep their secret? How long will it be until their friends find out?

John 10:28-30:

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one."
