Laxus was wandering around town, trying to remember where the lacrima store was. He hadn't bought a new disc in quite a while since Fairy Tail had been fairly busy what with missions and the usual crisis that Fairy Tail ended up resolving. When he finally found the lacrima store, he promptly entered, eager for a new disc.
As Laxus entered, people seemed to be worried about his presence. He was a Fairy Tail member after all. They were infamous for destroying things. It was also probably because he had fought against Fairy Tail all those years ago. He was foolish then. He had craved power, but he now saw that his craving had been overcome with the love and friendship that came from his nakama. He was a changed man now.
Now, Laxus wore his usual clothes that he had worn all those years ago. He wore his puffy coat, having it hang off of his shoulders with a solid black shirt underneath which went along with his maroon slacks. He may be older, but he had aged well. He was a kinder man now, but he still held a stoic expression on his face almost all of the time.
As Laxus browsed the shelves, he heard this high-pitched squeal that made him jump. Who the hell would make such an annoying sound?! He turned to see a teenage girl who couldn't be more than thirteen years old. She was jumping up and down excitedly with a disc in her hands.
Her hair was pulled back into a side braid, and she had her bangs hanging in her face, completely concealing her left eye while her visible one was chocolate brown. Her plum colored t-shirt had a Japanese character on it that meant future. Maybe she was a future fanatic. Over it she wore a pair of overalls that had short bottoms. It also seemed like half of her fingers had a ring on them, but she wore a single charm necklace around her neck for some kind of weapon.
"Jay! I found dad's favorite disc!" She grinned triumphantly at a boy that seemed to be around seventeen.
He had spiky brown hair that stood straight up, and it stood in great contrast to his neon orange eyes. The color reminded Laxus of his own eyes. The boy wore a fluffy purple cloak similar to his with a white wife beater underneath it. It went quite well with his jeans, and his right ear had a piercing on the higher part of the skin.
The boy, Jay, had a look of boredom and frustration on his face. "I asked you stop calling me that, Allie. It sounds too much like a pet name. Call me by my name, Jason." Jason's baritone voice surprised Laxus. Maybe these two were siblings.
"But you're my brother. I can call you whatever I want!" The girl, Allie, grinned up at Jason. He let a small smile crawl on his face as he rolled his eyes at his sister.
"You're so rebellious. Grandpa said that mom was kind of like you she was your age. Well, you know when he would stopped by at the guild and from what great-grandpa told him."
Laxus felt like an eavesdropper now, so he went back to his browsing but couldn't seem to shake off what the boy had said. The kids' conversation seemed to unsettle him. Their grandfather sounded similar to Gildarts, but last time Laxus had checked, Cana didn't have any kids. It was quite perplexing.
Laxus walked closer to the kids but not too close. "Who's your grandfather?" he asked nonchalantly.
When Allie looked at Laxus, she had a look of recognition light up across her face. She turned her body towards her brother, keeping her head straight ahead gaping at Laxus, and yanked her brother's sleeve.
"What All-?" Jason started but abruptly stopped when he saw Laxus.
The two stared at Laxus for a moment before the lightning mage said, "What is up with you two? Both of you staring at me is really starting to creep me out..."
"Oh, sorry." Allie spoke up first. "I'm Allie, and this is my older brother, Jason." Jason made a slight wave towards Laxus similar to something Cana would do.
"You didn't answer my question from earlier," Laxus bluntly stated, still curious as to if their grandfather was Gildarts or not.
"What was it?" Jason asked. He was actually not paying attention at the time. He had been pulled in by Allie after she had seen Laxus.
"Who is your grandfather that you were talking about?" Laxus was getting impatient now. Why couldn't they just tell him already?
"Our grandfather is Gildarts Clive," Allie bluntly answered. Her brother quickly smacked her in the back of the head, and she let out a cry of pain.
"Grandpa told us not to do that! Especially us since we're his grandkids," Jason hissed at his sister.
Laxus had been thinking about it for a while. They didn't seem to fit in here. They just seemed to be from a distant place. They had had the same feeling when it had come from future Lucy and Rogue. They didn't seem to belong in this time. They were out of place.
"You're from the future, aren't you?" Laxus asked the two teens as they argued between each other.
"How did you know?" Jason asked, astonished at how Laxus could figure it out. He then turned to his sister to yell at her again. "You let the cat out of the bag, Allie! Nice going!"
"I figured it out all on my own."
There was a moment of silence before the female blonde broke it. "Then I'm not in trouble!" Allie cheered and stuck her tongue out at her brother. He returned her face with a dark scowl. Another thing that was familiar to Laxus.
"Yeah yeah," Jason mocked back.
"If you're from the future," Laxus started, "and Gildarts is your grandfather, that means Cana is your future mother. Does she know?"
Allie stuck her arms behind her back and nudged her foot on the floor. Jason put one hand behind his head, rubbing it slightly. "You didn't think of that, did you?"
"No..." Allie replied, shyly.
"Why don't you do it now? She should be at the guild right now, probably drinking the day away." Laxus sighed deeply then lightly chuckled at the woman's normal antics.
"Let's go to the guild then," Jason said to Laxus.
The blonde man began to walk to the guild, the two teens close behind. People looked over and seemed to think that the two had some relation to the lightning mage since they pointed over and covered their mouths. What was so surprising about the two? They were from the future, so what? However, the people didn't need to know that.
As they approached the guild doors, Allie grabbed a hold of Laxus' arm. The older man turned his eyes to look at the girl, and she scrambled to let go as she mumbled, "Sorry". Jason looked over to Laxus as if trying to find reassurance. The blonde man quickly opened the door, making the guild look over to him. They seemed to be expecting the kids.
"Are these two from the future?" a feminine voice asked. Laxus turned to see Lisanna eyeing Allie and Jason. There was a girl right next to Lisanna that looked like a younger version of her except for the blue-black hair she had.
"Yeah. How'd you know?" he asked her, narrowing his eyes at the girl that stood by Lisanna. He wanted to know who she was.
"We've had three other kids from the future come to two of us so far. Alzack and Bisca have twin boys, James and Nathan, and B-Bixlow and I-I have Taylor." The stuttering and flush of Lisanna's face made Laxus grin. He knew Bixlow was lying when he said he wasn't crushing on the youngest Strauss.
When Lisanna had said Taylor, she motioned to the girl next to her. So she's their kid, huh? This'll be fun, Laxus thought to himself.
"What are their names? Do you know who their parents are?" Lisanna asked the lightning wizard.
"The boy is Jason, and the girl is Allie. And all I know is that Cana is their mother, and Gildarts is their grandfather," he informed her.
A loud spit-take could be heard near the bar. "Say what?" the drunk mage called. Cana hopped down from her table to take a closer look at the kids. "When the hell do I have kids?"
Cana hadn't changed much in the past five years. She wore a black top that was shaped like a sports bra with a pair of white capris that almost touched her knees. Her chocolate locks her pulled into a ponytail at the back of her head while her bangs still hung across her face.
"I'm supposed to be born next year," Jason told her.
"And I'm born in five years," Allie added.
"Then who's your dad?" the card mage asked the kids. She turned around to scan the guild for a moment but quickly turned back to the kids.
The kids were silent for a moment before Allie decided to speak up. "Jay has your hair color, mom but has dad's eyes. I have dad's hair color and your eyes. That's all I'll say right now." Allie grinned at her mother as she gave her the information/riddle.
"So your dad has blonde hair and orange eyes?" Lisanna asked the young blonde. Allie nodded at the take over mage, the grin still on her face.
Lisanna automatically looked over at Laxus. The description perfectly fit him, and Jason acted just like him. Jason acts like he doesn't care about anything around him, but anyone could see the possession for his sister in the young boy's eyes when Lisanna got too close to Allie.
"Is it me?" Laxus asked the two. Allie quickly responded by hugging her father's arm again, and Jason gave him a weak smile.
"Hey, dad," Jason mumbled.
Cana started laughing, and the rest of the family looked over at her. "What's so funny, momma?" Allie asked the card mage.
"Imagine how Gildarts will react to this when he gets back in a few weeks," she chuckled out, already doubled over with laughter.
Laxus froze and turned pale white. Allie and Jason laughed at their father as Cana started to drag the lightning mage over to the bar to drown his worries in alcohol. The kids followed close behind, wanting to stay with their parents. The guild laughed along with the family, happy to see more children showing up and another couple being brought together.
