SOAFan26: I'm sorry this took so long! I just needed to sit down and bang it out lol
I don't remember how long I stayed on the floor, clawing at the carpet, desperate for a breath to give me life again.
I don't remember blacking out, my body finally giving up on me.
I only remember the last thought that went through my mind.
Kendall.
When I came to, my vision was blurry and my head was pounding. I had no doubt knocked it on the floor when I passed out.
Deciding that I needed a friend, I climbed onto the bed and grabbed my phone, quickly dialing Anya's number.
"Hey girly!" she chirped. "What's going on?"
"Everything," I sighed. "Ken and I got into a huge fight, he left the house, I hurt Nicole, my parents are being unreasonable...I need help."
"Say no more. Where are we meeting?"
"An, I love you. Starbucks?"
"Sure. And you know I'm always here for you. Be there in fifteen."
"Thank you so much. Really."
"Anything for you, babe. I just winked by the way. I mean, you couldn't see it so I sai-"
"Anya?"
"Yeah. Right. Starbucks. Fifteen minutes."
Giggling, I hung up the phone and rushed to get changed, quickly pulling on jeans, a sweatshirt, and putting my hair up in a messy bun.
Before leaving the house, I popped into Nicole's room and found her cuddled up in bed watching missed episodes of Teen Wolf. Figuring she wouldn't miss my presence in the house, I quietly shut the door and went downstairs, scribbling a quick note of where I was if she needed me.
I began the relatively short walk to Starbucks, sighing as I realized I was taking the route of mine and Kendall's morning run.
My phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out, squinting against the bright sunlight to check the message. I gasped when I saw the time and picked up my pace, not wanting to keep Anya waiting. I struggled to text her back and walk in a straight line to avoid others on the sidewalk.
Apparently that failed, because I ran into someone.
Walking into a much larger man threw my balance off, and I quickly began falling until his strong arms reached out and grabbed me, pulling me into his chest.
"Oh god, I'm so so sorry," I spluttered, pushing my hair back and out of my face. "I wasn't watching where I was going-"
"No, I'm sorry, I have so much on my mind. I wasn't paying attention and-"
I stopped and looked up, only to find that the man staring down at me was the one who didn't want to face me at the moment.
"K-Ken, I-"
"I guess you have a knack for running into me, huh?" He smiled at his little joke, green eyes sparkling. "I was just on my way home. I got mad over nothi-"
"Baby!" I let out a squeal and jumped up, allowing him to support me as I wrapped my arms around his neck and peppered his face with kisses. "I'm sorry. I'm so so so so incredibly sorry! I was stupid to think that you would ever even think about dating another girl, I just got insecure and I love you so much that I'm scared to lose you and I'm just really sorry and please don't leave because I need you and you're the best thing that's ever happened to me I need yo-"
Kendall cut me off with a sound kiss, smiling as he pulled back. "You were right. And I was stupid for getting mad over that. I love you so much."
I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder, my heart swelling with love for this amazing man. "Babe?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm supposed to be with Anya right now."
"Oh. So...we should go."
"Yup."
I dropped back down to the sidewalk, smiling up at Kendall when he took my hand in his, intertwining our fingers. "Let's go."
We reached the Starbucks ten minutes after the time I was supposed to be there.
Oops.
"I'll go get us something, ok? You find Anya."
I nodded my ok, and Kendall kissed my cheek before stepping up to the counter. I let my fingers linger over the warmth left on my cheek, a smile growing on my face as I made my way over to my best friend.
"Hi, sorry I'm late," I rushed out as I sat down. "Is Adrian here?"
"How'd you know?" Anya asked, left eyebrow rising.
I nodded to the device across from me. "Phone."
"Oh duh," she rolled her eyes. "Yeah he is. Hope you don't mind."
"Not at all," I shook my head. "It's good to be together again."
"Mmhm. So..." Anya spread her hands out on the table. "Spill."
"Ok so it started out when-"
"Wait," she cut me off.
"What, what happened? Why are you glaring?"
And then I understood. Kendall came up behind me and placed my cup of coffee before me, kissed the top of my head, and sat down next to me, placing his hand on my knee. "Oh um...yeah we fixed it," I grinned sheepishly, giving Anya an awkward thumbs up.
"You could've told me that before I tried to incinerate him with my eyes, Mir. God."
"Oops."
"Oops," she scoffed, mocking me.
"What did you do this time?" Adrian grinned, sitting down next to Anya with two iced coffees.
"I didn't do anything...this time."
"Good going, babe," he laughed, leaning over to kiss her cheek. "So Miss Mira, what's been up with you?"
"I almost lost this loser," I joked, taking Kendall's arm and laying it across my shoulders so I could lean on him.
"How charming," he mumbled.
I'm sure there was an eye roll involved.
"But you fixed that," Anya smiled, shooting me a wink. "What about your parents? They must be the biggest issue now."
"Ding ding ding, we have a winner," I deadpanned.
"You're so mean to me."
"And yet you love me."
"Yeah, whatever."
"Hey Ken, wanna go do something while these two work out their relationship?" Adrian offered, going to stand up.
"Absolutely," my boyfriend laughed, rising from his chair.
"Uh no," I yelped, yanking him back down by his jacket. "I almost lost you once and that is not happening again."
"Aw baby." He chuckled and rubbed his nose against mine.
"Hey, get a room," Adrian teased.
Anya, using her "I'm trying to pretend that it's gross and not cute" voice, added her bit, too. "Ya nasties."
Thanks, An. Thanks.
