Hope you guys liked the last chapter :) Please review~ *evil smile*

I do not own anything that has to do with Naruto, it's characters, settings, or anything related to the actual manga/anime. This is only an AU kinda thing that I wanted to do, so any OCs are mine and the plot line is also mine :)

Broken

Chapter 4

Kakashi sighed, wondering why in the world his blonde pupil was having a party on a school night. The pup - Wisteria, he reminded himself - cuddled up close to him in her sleep, whimpering into his coat. The blanket he gave her was fairly warm, but he could still feel her shivering incessantly. And with that insignificant thought, the silver haired sensei remembered that it was Christmas break, and the kids had nothing else to do but party and sleep.

That, and get drunk.

He really hoped that they weren't doing that. Kakashi never really knew with those groups of kids.

A whimper brought his attention back down to Wisteria, who seemed to be close to waking up. A pat on her head calmed her down again, and the silver-haired man sighed. Again.

He looked up at the mansion, shaking his head at how rich his friend, Iruka, really was with the crappy job he had. He knocked... Well, tried to.

Naruto opened the door, smiling widely and a bowl of ramen in his hands. "Hey, Kakashi! What's up?" He then caught sight of the pup in his arms. "Well, it's cold! Come on in!" Kakashi thanked the blonde and walked in, glad that the shivering pup was no longer shivering. "Do you need Iruka-sensei?" Kakashi nodded and the boy was off.

The silver-haired man sighed (AGAIN) and chose to lean against the wall. God knows what was on the seats over there. Speaking of which, who the hell was making out over there?!

Before he decided to find out exactly who, Iruka walked up with a pleasant smile on his face. Well, at least he was sober.

"Hey Kakashi, what's up?" Never mind, he was a bit tipsy. Oh well, better than completely drunk.

"She has a name now." Kakashi replied, gesturing to the sleeping pup in his arms. "It's Wisteria."

"Well, now we don't have to call her 'dog' or 'puppy' or 'pup.'" Kakashi didn't even need to turn his head to know that the younger Uchiha was behind him with the infamous smirk on his face. The silver-haired teacher could feel the pup stir in his arms. He also looked sober compared to most people in the room...

"Ah, Kakashi-sensei. Welcome." The elder Uchiha walked up and laid a hand on Sasuke's shoulders, warning him to behave at his friend's house. "How is she doing?"

"She's got a name. Wisteria." Said pup whined and laid a paw on Kakashi's chest, looking at him with bright puppy eyes. He chuckled and brought up a hand to scratch her head. She nuzzled it and looked happy, so Kakashi guessed that was what she wanted. He looked around. "So, what's going on here?"

Naruto popped back up. "I'm having a party just because." Kakashi rolled his one visible eye. With Naruto, that reason could range from a brand new flavor of ramen just came out to let's celebrate the death of someone because why the hell not.

Kakashi attended the last one once. A lot of people got drunk and he got a lot of blackmail the next morning. It was quite entertaining. Especially since he got a lot of free stuff for the next two months.

"That's good to hear, un." Deidara was the next one to butt into the conversation. "Have you found out where she comes from, un?" Kakashi shook his head at that one. The blonde shrugged, took a sip out of his cup, and walked off, probably to find something better to do. Were all these kids just not in it today?

The silver-haired man was suddenly glad that he was not teaching.

Wisteria jumped out of his arms and trotted off, leaving Kakashi shocked. 'Ah, shit, now I have to find her before she gets in trouble.' He thought, pushing through people and try to keep up with the little husky.

Some people screamed, which was great for him since it made a pathway, but caused even more chaos to ensue. Things started crashing to the ground, people started yelling (were those curse words? Oh well, they weren't in school, why the hell should he care?), and things just got worse from there.

Then the laughter. Those were the ones who irritated Kakashi the most, not helping but not causing a panic. He supposed that was a good point, though. Still, the laughing annoyed him.

Thankfully, though, by the end of it, Hinata was the one who captured the rambunctious pup. Wisteria was sitting in her arms, looking for all the world like the most innocent creature that has not done a little lick of harm.

"Yeah, not working on me, pup." She seemed to scoff while Hinata laughed. She gave Wisteria back, a soft smile on her face.

A tap on his shoulder made Kakashi's attention turn to find an angry Iruka glaring at him. Well, there goes the hope that he was too drunk to notice the damage. "You are paying for this Kakashi." Said man grinned. Iruka blushed then stomped away, muttering something about 'stupid sexy silver-haired men' suspiciously along with the name 'Kakashi.'

"You, Wisteria, are a lot more trouble than you look." Wisteria did a little wee-woo sound and wagged her tail, impossibly happy. "But at least I won't be bored." She puffed her chest out, more proud than she should be.

"Is she going to be staying with you from now on?" I turned to see Gaara standing there. He looked to be one of the few sober teenagers in here. No doubt he was, probably along with one or two others. Kakashi blithely wondered who was going to be taking the pictures for blackmail...

Kakashi shrugged. "I can't keep her around forever. The nin dogs would probably try to attack her once they get a sniff of her in the apartment." Gaara nodded then looked at Wisteria with a critical eye. "You want to keep her?" Gaara only looked at him then nodded. Wisteria did her little woo sound then jumped down onto the ground between the two ninjas, wagging her tail insanely.

Kakashi brought out his notepad and handed it to Gaara. "This is all I know of her right now. If you find out any more information, put it here." Gaara glared at the stack of paper, but took it none-the-less and stashed it in one of his pockets. "Have a nice night, Gaara." The red-head looked up to see the silver-haired ninja walk out of the house with only a wave to signify who he was talking to.

The ninja's blue eyes only looked out after him before looking down at the pup. Wisteria tilted her head and wagged her tail again. She stepped a little closer then stretched.

Gaara turned and started walking out of the house, not even worried about the husky following him out... Which, she did. She didn't just walk, she trotted up next to him, happy as can be.

Halfway down to his own home, Gaara stopped and looked at the creature next to him. He crouched down and reached out a hand, wanting to pet her but no knowing if it was alright.

Wisteria tilted her head then got a grin on her face before licking Gaara's hand. The boy jolted, but took that as a good sign and started to pet her. A soft smile, so small that it was almost impossible to see, accompanied his face.

"Come, my sister must have dinner ready by now."

I just HAD to put a cute moment in with Gaara xD He's one of my favorite characters :3
