Chapter 3: Noise amplifies in an empty vessel.
- Kuroko Tetsuya was known to be the one who can stay calm no matter the range of annoying-ness from a simple poke to the unbearable blabber of Kagami Taiga… but as if of 14th of March, he found Kagami's significant other whom broke the patience of an angel.
'AAARGHHH! Give it back Akashi Seijuurou!' he had a humongous urge of screaming.
But instead he sat down and placed his right hand on his forehead, which acted like a seal that held in his yell. It took a while for Kagami to look
up from wearing his guards and notice the teal boy gritting his teeth.
"k-kuroko?"
"yes, Kagami-kun?" he tried to feign his innocence with a small grin.
" I don't know but something tells me that you are angry." This… idiot….
" Me? Angry? Oh, no it just so happened that a certain red headed perverted classmate gave me back the missing arm guard during morning assembly and then took it back at the end of the day."
"oh! Do you mean…" Kagami hinted.
"yes…"
"I never liked him or the way he treated you in the first place."
A sudden rush of anger went through the multi-colour haired teen as he recalled Akashi freaking Seijuurou.
"He stole the guard?"
"Yes. Again. I don't even know what was the reason. He knows I have to go for missions, and still...-"
'"Don't you know? Pet birds would always end up getting yanked back by its masters chain... Don't try to fly away, Tetsuya."'
- That was the last thing he said before disappearing with Kuroko's arm guard.
"That idiot..." Kuroko gritted his teeth.
"What?"
"He wanted me to go back to Rakuzan..." He mumbled softly.
"What? I'm sorry can you repeat that?"
" Nothing just give me 10 minutes and I'll be done."
"Huh done with what? We have only 45 minutes left."
But that was too late as the phantom boy had already left.
- 8.17p.m. • 16th of March
In the quiet streets of Kyoto, a lonely shadow dashed through the night, desperately finding for a certain underground hideout. And then it reached a cross-road.
" ugh... Shin-Chan why do I have to keep cycling this Trishaw Iike object? When is it your turn?" A sad voice spoke it was coming from a cross the road.
"Nanodayo? Oha-Asa states that that cancers are the first on the horoscope today if I carry my lucky item with me everything will be okay." The green head held up a tea pot,
"Don't be sad, Scorpio. You are the last one the list today. Your lucky item today is a toothpaste." He placed the tube of fluorine into the driver's pocket.
" it's weird and all. But! Awww Shin-Chan you care!"
"Not at all! I just don't wish to die in your trishaw."
'Such a tsundere...' Kuroko thought while hiding in the bushes.
Just when they were going to pass, a roll of tape 'escaped' from the bespectacled male's pocket and rolled down the hill. Kuroko stealthily and quietly ran down the hill and got the tape.
"H- "
The bluenette plastered his mouth shut, remembering he was in disguise and should stay silent. Luckily he shut his mouth just in time as the eagle eyed male turned his head. His weak presence made it easier for him to escape... soon enough the raven boy and 'Shin-chan' left.
But since Kuroko had no time to waste... "I'll find them next time." And then ran to find his arm guard.
"Okay I'm here again..." he sighed.
He tried to recall what happened the last Rakuzan visit... 'when I step into the entrance it'll be empty...'
True enough, it was clear... But this time there was a difference. A noose did not appear and a ninja was no where to be found. Even the 'gold' room was no where to be found. He walked on in curiosity of what danger could be lying ahead of him. Then was a tap on his shoulder.
"Akashi-kun enough games. Please return my ar-"
A sudden punch was thrown towards him... that was not the Rakuzan emperor, but a dark-haired male. Being immune to those types of attacks, Kuroko caught that punch and tried to plant a kick on his supposed nemisis' head.
His opponent then few backwards by the impact of the hit.
"So you're an offensive player huh?"
The teal male Instead responded with a swift jab to the stomach.
But this time, the dark haired male dodged the attack, by an inch, and used continuous kicks to the shorter ninjas torso. In order to escape, the teal boy was pushed into a other room, and the attacks suddenly stopped.
"Impressive, my Tetsuya huh, Mibuchi?" A familiar cold voice spoke.
The red head was lounging I an office chair, in front of a shogi board. The opponent's chair, however was empty. 'Playing alone?' Kuroko thought. But swatted that away, seeing that he was wasting time, over thinking.
"Akashi-kun, my arm guard. Onegai."
Hearing no response, reached out his hand to grab the wooden slab located on Akashi's lap, but to his dismay, his hand got pulled towards a certain red head and his head was tilted in an awkward position so that his eyes met heterochromia.
"No. You just came I can't let you go so soon, can I?"
Kuroko averted his eyes from the strong gaze and spoke, "Yes you can. I have to go on a big mission and I can't afford to let my team suffer under the punishments of Val-san, just because of me. Plus, I did promise Kaga- Tai-San that I'll be there in 10 minutes and it is already 7 minutes, I'm going to be late."
Akashi suddenly felt angry. "If you want to say 'Kagami-kun' just say it. Don't ask. I know because I am absolute." he had been following in the Shadow's shadows, and 'Kagami-kun' was a frequently heard name.
The teal boy was dumbfounded.
"Is he really that important to you, that you have to leave right at this moment?"
Jealousy sparked through red and gold. The two and the rest of Rakuzan could feel the obvious tension between the two, and they awkwardly stood in the corner to avoid the wrath of Akashi Seijurou.
Although Kuroko could not understand the reason behind his anger, or was he the reason of his anger, he could tell it wasn't a good thing to step into Akashi's bad side.
"Just go if you need to."
Kuroko had an urge to stay all of a sudden it might be because be felt bad about making the red head angry, but he had a team to save back in Tokyo.
He grabbed the arm guard and awkwardly walked away.
"Maybe next time. Akashi-kun." He then misdirected attention away from himself, in order escape. The was the first time he was happy to have a weak presence.
'It's always. Kagami-kun this and Kagami-kun that. Doesn't that boy have a brain of his own?'
The king tightly clutched the close-being-crushed shogi piece in his fist. He then smiled bitterly at the thought of his love, following behind the footsteps of a lowly tiger.
"Fine if that is how you want to play it," he knocked down the pawn piece, next to the queen, and replaced it with the king piece.
"Then let me play with you,
Kagami Taiga."
"ACHOO! Argh... I feel like someone's talking about me." Kagami stated
"I didn't know you were so superstitious... anyway, where is Kuroko? Wasn't he supposed to be here 2 minutes ago?" Hyuuga asked.
Ninjas were very particular about timing. You can't even be late for a minute.
"I'm so sorry. I was caught up with...things."
"KUROKO!" Voices shouted in unison. "Where were you?"
"I went to get my arm guard." He held his guard in the air.
"Oh ok. The journey to Kaijo is far, get ready we are leaving soon."
"Hai...Riko-San, wait. I have a strategy."
"Master was right. Seirin was up to something."
"Why did you drag me out here Kasa-san! I could be back at the clan doing my own stuff... even if he was right, defeating a weak clan like Seirin would be a breeze-ssu!" A blonde spoke.
"Ki! Don't you know? Master would never send us here if it was not important. After getting the stone, master decided to use its magic a little by looking into future and he saw a vision. He told us not to underestimate Seirin. But right now, you are doing what the master Instrucucted us NOT to do."
"What?! NO ONE HERE EVEN LOOKS IMPRESSI- AHH!"
the older male smacked his junior in the head.
"Keep it down. BAKA. HE MIGHT BE ANYWHERE."
"Who?"
"Oh my goodness gracious. You live under a rock. This is Seirin. The home of the phantom."
"Serious?!" He whisper-shouted.
"Nothing to underestimate now huh?"
"Y-yeah... But where is he?"
"I'm...not sure...ahh ghost!"
Both of them clasped their mouths shut as they see the figure of a certain teal head appearing all of a sudden.
"Wait a minute is that... blue eyes?"
"Seirin?... we indirectly fought with the phantom right?"
"Yeah..."
"Quick! Ki! They are making a move."
Then they rolled out to follow the Seirin gang.
After 'playing spies' , the two Kaijio aces decided to go for an attack but...
"Huh? Where are the?" The rough captain asked, seeing no trace of the ninjas.
"Behind you."
An eery and emotionless voice rang through their ears.
Before they knew it the supposed surprise attackers had been attacked instead. The Seirin clan saw through their attack.
The captain got chopped in the nape, and the blonde got kneeied in the stomach, causing them to clutch their injured areas in pain and roll on the floor. But the attacks did not stop there. The phantom and his clan just kept driving them into the corner until they were surrounded.
And when they were driven to the maximum, Kuroko tied their wrists together.
'So this is the legendary phantom...' the representatives of Kaijo shuddered.
"But, how do you know we were coming or we were there?" Kasamatsu asked.
"Simple." Kuroko simply stated, looking at the blonde, "empty vessels make the loudest noise and, you have it in your team-
A really loud one."
