8:00am (Saturday)

Sam woke up to the smell of cooking pancakes. She reached across the bed and was met with a cold sheet. She then heard footsteps coming up the stairs and the bedroom door opening.

"Morning" Tom said a smile spreading across his face.

"Morning" Sam replied, as she was talking Tom had walked across the room and was passionately kissing her.

"I made you breakfast" Tom said, Sam smiled and pulled back the duvet, only to find she was stark naked. She quickly went to her wardrobe and pulled out a baggy shirt and pulled it over her head, she then pulled out a fresh pair of underwear and slipped them on. She turned to see Tom staring at her.

"You are beautiful" Tom said smiling, Sam had blushed slightly.

"Shut up" Sam said before walking out the room, she peered into Ben's room and saw he was still fast asleep. She turned around and saw Tom walking down the stairs, she followed him all the way to the kitchen. Where Tom gave her a plate of pancakes.

"They look delicious" Sam said smiling as she sat down at the table.

"Mummy" Sam turned around to the sound of Ben's voice.

"Hey sweetheart" Sam said picking Ben up.

"I made you some pancakes" Tom said smiling as Ben's face lit up. Sam put him down and her ran up and sat at the table.

"Yay, thank you Tom" Ben said, Sam was glad he hadn't asked why Tom was here yet, he was too busy eating to think about it.

"That's ok" Tom said, he then felt his phone go off in his pocket. He answered the phone while walking out of the kitchen.

A few minutes later he came back into the kitchen.

"It was Zoe, I have to go into work" He said then went over to Sam and kissed her on the lips. "I'll call you later, bye Ben"

"Bye Tom" Ben replied while waving Tom off. He then turned back to his pancakes.

"How about we go swimming after lunch?" Sam said and Ben's eyes widened and he nodded excitedly.

4:00pm

Sam and Ben had just got home after spending a good 3 hours at the swimming pool.

"What do you want for dinner then?" Sam asked Ben who was sat in front of the TV.

"Umm…..can we have pizza?" Ben pleaded, Sam thought for a second before giving into Ben.

"Okay" She sighed, she went to see if they had any frozen before she heard a knock at the door. She stopped what she was doing and opened the door, she was met with the last person she ever wanted to see.

"Dylan!" She exclaimed before slamming the door, but Dylan shoved his foot in before it could close properly. He barged past her and into the living room where Ben was watching TV.

"Who are you?" Ben said innocently.

"I'm your Dad, you're coming with me" Dylan said going to pick up Ben, but Sam grabbed him and threw him against the wall as hard as she could.

"Ben run!" Sam shouted and waited until he had disappeared off into the kitchen before turning back to Dylan who had just got off the floor, he grabbed Sam by the hair and threw her against the wall.

4:05pm

Tom had just got home from his shift and had made himself a cup of tea, he was just about to take a sip when he heard a knock at the door.

"Hey Ben, what are you doing here?" Tom asked as he knelt down to his level.

"Somebody's hurting Mummy" Ben cried. He had heard screams as he ran from the house.

"What? Who?" Tom said hurriedly while picking up his keys and closing the front door.

"He said he was my Dad" Ben said, Tom quickly picked up Ben and ran to the house he entered through the front door that had been left open. He ran into the living room to see Sam curled up in a ball on the floor and kicking her. He put Ben down and pulled Dylan away from Sam then punched him in face. Dylan quickly ran out the back door and Tom turned around to see Ben trying to wake Sam up.

"Mummy, Mummy, please wake up" Ben said shaking her a little. Tom kneeled down next to Ben and put his hand on his back.

"Can you go sit over there for me, so I can look after Mummy?" Tom asked kindly and Ben went and sat on the other side of Sam.

"Sam sweetheart, can you open your eyes for me?" Tom said while stroking Sam's hair, only to reveal a large cut on the side of her head.

"Ben, can you get Mummy's phone for me." Tom said and Ben disappeared into the kitchen. He came back a few minutes later.

"Can you call 999 and tell them what happened." Tom said and Ben nodded. It was going to be a long night.
