This is the life I chose, this is the life I lead, and they can never take this from me!

"Do you ever regret becoming a signer?" Akiza asked Yusei, sitting cross-legged next to her boyfriend, looking into his deep blue eyes. Yusei shook his head, grabbing a lock of her hair and twirling it around his finger gently.

"never." He smiled, the words barely escaping his lips. He crossed his legs on the bed, and Akiza chuckled, lying in front of him and placing her head in his lap.

"Never?" she questioned in surprise, twiddling her thumbs awkwardly.

He shrugged.

"There's not much point in regret. If things were different, then we might not be in each other's lives right now." His face smoothed into a frown, letting go of her hair and watching it drop to the side of her face, lying on his right knee. "And that would suck."

She laughed. "It would, wouldn't it?" she reached up and touched his cheek and he closed his eyes, revelling in her touch.

"Why, do you?"

She sighed. "I used to. Before I met you."

He grinned. "I'm glad to hear that."

"Well, like you said, there's not much point in regret anymore. It's the life we chose, it's who we are, and no one can take this form us, ever." He stroked her cheek as she talked, and he smiled again. "And it was you that taught me that, and I can never thank you enough."
