Twist presents the world with a dramatic intro of the class that was "captured," and footage from a few hours earlier was played for the world to see. Danny tells his friends he thinks the trip is a trap, and Twist teases him about being able to do nothing to stop him because Danny has never truly been the one in control.

(Sugar,) We're Going Down Screaming

The image of a stunned Danny Fenton spun away and was replaced by a smiling ghost with dark hair and red eyes. Twist stared at the camera and soaked up the audience's reactions like he enjoyed their emotional involvement in his performance.

"Enjoying this so far?" he asked, sounding generally interested. "Are you surprised that I actually appeared? Confused by some of the things the children said? I can see it all in your eyes, you're eager to know what's going on now. You want more."

The guilty people of the world avoided looking at the ghost. It was true, they wanted to know what was going on and they were eager to watch what would happen to these kids. It was sickening and almost cowardly. They wanted Twist to do something to these children, so they could find out what was going on. It was easy for the audience to forget they were trapped by a ghost; it was easy for them to forget these kids were in any real danger.

They were entertained.

These were residents from Amity Park, the reclusive paranormal town, so obviously there must be something special about them. With the federal government protecting the small town and preventing anyone from entering it without explicit permission, they rarely got to see any of its inhabitants.

News from Amity Park was never popular before the existence of ghosts, but afterwards everyone wanted updates on the small town's paranormal encounters. It was still the Ghost Capital of the world.

When the only answers Twist received were disgusted faces, his smile grew. "It's okay," he mocked. "You don't have to admit it, but the sooner you do the better you'll feel. The human psyche is such a wonderful thing. Let's get on with it, shall we? I'm going to show you one more video before I end today's presentation."

Twist leaned forward and disappeared from the cameras view. He reappeared a second later and clapped his hands together. "This footage is LIVE. In other words, whatever you see is happening to the children of Mr. Lancer's class right now. Time for some action," he announced.

As soon as Twist finished his sentence, the image swirled again and was replaced by a video of a plane. The students from earlier were all seated in the blue seats of a Southwest Airline jet. Nothing was out of the ordinary–except for the fact that there were no flight attendants–and everything seemed a-okay.

Hopefully someone important – the President of the U.S., the Air Force, or anyone else – was trying to do something to find the kids if this video was LIVE. The audience couldn't help but wonder just how powerful Twist was and how did he get this way? If technology wasn't running anywhere in the world, was Twist himself allowing the plane carrying the kids, and only their plane, to continue to fly?

The blonde jock was throwing a football to Kwan, Paulina and Star were arguing, two redhead siblings were listening to mp3's, and a bunch of other students were watching television on portable DVD players.

As interesting as the other students were, the audience's main focus fell upon the trio of oddballs from before. The son of the two famous ghost hunters was near the middle of the plane on the inside seat. Danny seemed slightly tense, probably because a ghost just approached him at the airport and basically told him he was planning something. The goth was occupying the middle seat and was currently drawing something in a notebook. When the camera zoomed in on her picture, the audience was surprised to see a doodle of Phantom's insignia. Sam never struck them as a Phantom "Phan." The techno geek was obviously playing with his PDA. No surprise there.

Looking up from her doodle, Sam placed a comforting hand on Danny's shoulder. This surprised Danny so much that he whipped around and snatched her hand. Sam cried out and the boy immediately let go. Her skin was an angry red when he pulled away.

"Sam," Danny whispered, checking her abused appendage. "I don't what happened, I just–"

Sam shook her head, saving the struggling boy from embarrassment. "It's okay, if I were you, I would be on high alert too," she replied, shaking her wrist to show him it was fine. "But what are we going to do if that ghost does try something? We really can't do anything without– you know."

'Without what? Ghost weapons?' the audience wondered, seriously concerned that the students on the plane weren't wearing the standard anti-ectoplasm rings. Did Twist convince them to leave them behind before boarding the plane? Did he steal them without the class even realizing it? Did Amity Park's citizens not wear the rings like the rest of the world?

"I really don't care if everyone finds out, Sam, just as long as no one gets hurt," Danny replied with a shrug. "No secret, no matter how big, is worth the lives of other people. If that fruit loop ghost attacks, I'll do everything in my power to stop him."

Sam blinked at him. When the silence carried on and Danny started to squirm, Sam sighed and ruffled his hair playfully. "You and your stupid hero complex. Do you have any idea how difficult you are?"

Danny smiled. "I'm adorable."

His friend laughed. "Keep telling yourself that," she said, eyes soft. "I'm just really proud of how much you've grown."

The audience could see Danny swelling with pride until Sam added, "Of course, I only mean mentally."

"Saaam," Danny whined, sinking in his seat. "I'm not that short!"

'Danny Fenton has a hero complex?' questioned the very stunned audience, still behind on the situation. Those of Amity Park who knew the boy well were extremely confused, whereas the rest of the world was wondering if everything they'd heard about the famous Fenton's son was a lie.

When Maddie and Jack came forward as leading ghost experts, with their college buddy and famous billionaire Vlad Masters right behind them, stories on the Fenton family became extremely common. It was discovered that their eldest daughter was a genius interested in psychology, but their youngest son was a slacker who liked to stay out of the way and refused to join the ghost hunting business like his parents. This was all very confusing for everyone.

The beautiful moment between Sam and Danny was ruined by the techno-geek residing next to them. "Lovebirds," coughed Tucker, who had apparently been listening to them the entire time.

Screaming in protest, Danny and Sam got the attention of everyone on the plane. "WE ARE NOT LOVEBIRDS!"

The audience laughed at this and snickers were heard from the students on every screen.

Punching Tucker in the arm, Sam turned back to her not-so-secret crush. "It's alright, just try to relax," she soothed.

"Seriously, dude," said Tucker, who was still smiling at their reactions to his comment, "I doubt the ghost will attack us while we're on a plane. He'll probably have something set up for us at Florida."

"Tucker, you jinxed it. Whenever you say something like that, a ghost attacks," Danny groaned, burying his face into his hands.

Tucker cringed and mouthed softly, "Woops."

"Nice going, Bad Luck Tuck," the Goth stated as she rolled her eyes and snatched Tucker's hat. Tucker helplessly attempted to take his hat back but failed miserably. Sam simply shoved her hand into his face and held him back with ease.

"Sam, you know I hate being called that!" growled Tucker around the hand squishing his cheeks.

Grinning, Sam continued to torment the poor techno geek. "Yeah, I know."

Danny watched the fight between his two best friends unfold with mild interest. A smile twitched on the edge of his lips and threatened to overcome his entire face. Turning away from Sam and Tucker he glanced around the plane, eyeing everyone and making sure they were all okay. The camera followed his gaze for a second, but then immediately turned back to Danny when he gasped. The teen's eyes widened, and a blue mist curled out of his mouth like a snake.

The audience gasped in surprise too. Hadn't they seen that earlier as well?

Danny seemed to know exactly what it was because his eyes quickly scanned the plane as he readjusted his relaxed posture. His friends noticed the mist and immediately stopped talking, looking just as concerned as Danny.

Without hesitating, Tucker grabbed his hat back and whipped out his PDA. Sam glared at Tucker with a look that said, 'told you so' and then lunged for her spider backpack currently keeping the floor of the plane company. The trio's attitudes changed so much that you almost couldn't recognize them as the group of wimpy, geeky, oddball nobody's.

They seemed frightening. Was this how all people in Amity responded to ghost attacks? Was everyone there trained to fight back?

Tucker tapped his PDA and glanced up at Danny. "I'm not picking up on anything. He must be keeping his distance," he hummed.

"I've got the Fenton Thermos, 5 lipstick blasters, 8 wrist rays, and 4 Fenton Phones, which ones do you think would work on this new ghost?" Sam said, unzipping her backpack.

Danny glanced at both of them and frowned. "This guy seems pretty powerful and I doubt that any of those weapons would even phase him."

The audience was very concerned with not only why the kids brought ghost weapons, but how they got them past airport security. Only the standard anti-ecto rings were allowed on planes after being thoroughly scanned and searched.

'It's like they're planning to attack Twist,' the spectators thought, worriedly. Then it dawned them, these kids were planning on attacking Twist, and it would be a complete suicide mission. They had no experience in this type of stuff, but they were deciding to play hero anyways.

After a moment of thought, the audience recalled how the atmosphere around the kids changed and how they suddenly got really serious. Maybe they did have experience. After all, one of them was the son of two ghost hunters and they all lived in the most haunted place in the world.

Turning their attention back to the children, they noticed that Danny was glancing out the window nervously.

"Do you think I should…? I bet we'd all have a better chance– maybe I could just," the teen struggled, worrying his lower lip between his teeth.

Sam and Tucker glanced around the plane. "I don't know, Danny, I think it's too risky. What would everyone say if Danny Fenton disappeared all of a sudden?" Tucker answered.

The way he emphasized Danny's last name made everyone around the world feel like there was some secret meaning behind it.

"It's not like someone's going to notice," argued Danny with a frown. "We're the nobody's of Casper High and the invisibles of Amity Park."

The audience felt a slight pang of guilt from that sentence, mostly the people from Amity. They were beginning to take a liking to these kids and it hurt them to see that they thought so badly about themselves.

"No, I agree with Tucker," stated Sam as she rummaged through her bag. "We should at least try and save everyone using the weapons first. Maybe we can scare him away. It's worth a shot."

Sam barely finished her sentence before a loud shrieking sound filled everyone's ears. Startled, the students jumped and searched the plane for the source of the disruption. Danny, who was covering his ears with his hands, located the shrieking first, and his head whipped up toward the ceiling just as it was torn off. The noise finally stopped, and the bitter, cold outside air seeped its way into the plane and lashed at the students. If they weren't wearing seat belts, they would have been long gone. Screams chorused throughout the plane as the whir of the engine died.

It took everyone watching a moment to realize that the children were falling out of the sky.

The spectators screamed also, fearing for the lives of those poor kids. Some even begged Twist to do something. Surprisingly, the audience looked for the group of odd balls yet again.

Danny, Sam, and Tucker were, in fact, the only students on the plane that weren't screaming. Even their teacher, Mr. Lancer, was yelling as they fell to their doom, but the trio seemed almost calm. Danny's eyes were wide, but he didn't look scared. Instead, the teen began to unbuckle his seat belt and stand up.

'What does he think he's doing!?' the spectators screamed in their heads. 'He's going to get flung out of the plane!'

But before Danny could click the seat belt button, he let out a small yelp and his eyes rolled to the back of his head. The audience was surprised for a moment, then they noticed Twist's glowing eyes "floating" right next to Danny. All of Twist's body was invisible but his eyes, so he must have wanted the audience to know he was the one that knocked Danny out.

Twist said, just loud enough for the cameras to pick up his statement, "Nice try, Danny, but I can't have you going and saving the day just yet."

And with that, the red eyes vanished.

What was Danny planning to do that Twist didn't want him to? It's not like he could have done too much to help the situation. The audience felt cheated somehow, and very angry at Twist.

This would have been the point in time when oxygen masks dropped from the roof if they, you know, still had a roof for them to drop from. The change in air pressure not only made it difficult for the students' to breathe, but it probably killed their ear drums as well.

The kids on the plane continued to screech while Tucker and Sam just looked annoyed. "Danny, do something," Tucker shouted, but stopped when he noticed Danny was knocked out. Sam followed Tucker's gaze and both their eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.

"We're so screwed," muttered Tucker right before they made impact with the ground.

The plane was engulfed in water and everyone on it was flung forward into its icy, cold grasp. The jet quickly sunk underwater and disappeared from the audience's view. Weren't those supposed to float at least for a little bit? Did action movies exaggerate how long a plane was able to stay above water? The spectators were beginning to lose hope when suddenly the plane and many pieces of open luggage submerged and popped out of the water, perfectly unharmed with the exception of the roof.

The passengers weren't so lucky.

The water around the plane was a light brown color from all the blood. Many of the students had red dripping down their faces and arms. When they had made impact with the water, some of them were thrown into the seat in front of them. The plane was flying at a pretty low altitude considering how fast it had taken to fall to the water, but the shock of slamming into the surface was enough to cause minor injuries. Sam and Tucker were flung over their seats with deep gashes on their heads while Danny was slumped over his seat with his left arm in an abnormal position.

The audience gasped, and parents covered their children's eyes, some adults even turned the other way. How could someone do something like this to a bunch of innocent kids?

Then, a couple of people all across the world began to scream. The ones still looking at the screen cried out in despair and as everyone turned to see what was wrong, more shrieks erupted from their mouths.

The plane was sinking, and everyone on it was out cold.

"Wake up! Somebody, please wake up!" a man from New York shouted.

"Please don't die, do something!" a woman from France added, panicked at the thought of having to watch these teenagers drown.

Fear gripped their hearts and all breathing turned into frightened chokes and gasps for breath. The audience could do nothing as the plane slowly succumbed to the ocean. The colored liquid squeezed its way on the plane and began to pile up at the children's feet – either brown from blood, oil, or gasoline leaking.

'No,' the people of the world thought. 'It can't end like this! Twist, please.'

"Hhmm."

Everyone froze. The whole world was silent. Nobody breathed, nobody moved, and nobody dared to speak. Slowly, hope began to return to their lost souls and everyone's anxious eyes widened and searched the plane for any type of movement. Eyeing each student carefully, they finally saw someone shift position.

Danny Fenton struggled to open his eyes. Blinking a couple times, he noticed that he was leaning against the seat in front of him. Bringing his arms up to his side, Danny pressed both on the seat and gasped, quickly identifying pain in his upper body. His shoulder was hanging slightly out of his socket and blood was oozing out of a slice near his collarbone.

Danny looked down at his arm and his eyes widened. "Damn," he cursed quietly, "this is going to hurt a lot."

Everyone's eyes suddenly widened as Danny grabbed his injured shoulder and popped it back into place. The most surprising part was that he barely screamed. The wince on his face told the audience that he definitely felt the pain, but he did nothing more than act as if popping his shoulder back was a simple inconvenience.

He let out a hiss of breath between his teeth, rolling his shoulder a bit to test it. Danny, satisfied with the ache in his arm, finally became aware of the situation around him. His eyebrows rose to the top of his forehead at the sight of his classmates.

"No," he gasped, cupping his mouth. When his eyes landed on his two best friends, he turned as pale as a ghost and finally glanced down at the floor where the water was slowly finding its way on the plane.

Apparently, that was the last straw. Danny's horrified eyes narrowed, and they flashed a dangerous toxic green color, frightening the audience. He ripped off his seat belt and stood up quickly. Without a second thought, Danny unbuckled his two significantly taller best friends, lifted them off their seats, and flung them over his right shoulder.

The audiences' eyes bulged out of their heads. 'Since when was the Fenton kid so strong?' Then, what Danny did next practically made their eyes roll to the floor.

He sprinted through the ankle-deep water to the seat in front of him and grabbed the three students there and flung them over his left shoulder. With the five students hanging on both of his shoulders, his eyes found the emergency exit door and he kicked it open.

Again, he kicked an emergency exit door off its hinges without using the handles to open it.

More than several people around the world wondered if the kid was on steroids.

Thankfully the ocean water hadn't reached the exit door yet and Danny jumped out of the plane with the students. They all disappeared only to resurface a second later, somehow staying afloat despite the weight. Thinking fast, Danny searched the vast waters that surrounded him. Noticing the huge mound of luggage floating next to the plane, he dragged the unconscious children towards it and laid them on top of the pile. Once he checked to make sure they weren't going to sink, Danny dove towards the plane again.

One by one, he rescued every student and their teacher from the sinking metal death trap. It was a slow process, but he only began to tire after four trips.

When he had gotten the last student out and the plane finally sunk below sea level, the audience cheered. Danny Fenton saved all of them! This definitely proved that anyone could be a hero, but who knew Fenton had it in him? Newspaper companies were already throwing around ideas on reprinting the earlier articles about the Fenton family. There was definitely more to the youngest child than they had thought. Maybe he wanted to be a firefighter or police officer one day?

By now, Danny was panting from exhaustion. His green eyes melted back into blue and he swam towards his classmates. Looking up at them, he smiled and gripped the edge of the mound but didn't climb up for there wasn't enough room left. As it was, children were laying on top of each other in order to stay on the helpful flotation devices. He looked like he didn't want to risk it.

Suddenly snapped out of his pensive state, Danny shouted, "The pilot!" and dive-bombed into the icy depths below.

Many people smiled at this. The seventeen-year-old just rescued each one of his classmates–to the surprise of everyone watching–and he even bothered to remember the pilot.

However, this time the camera followed Danny underwater. The murky waves licked the edges of the screen as it sunk under. As soon as the camera was below sea level, the picture began to focus. You could barely make out the outline of the sinking plane as it slowly fell towards the bottom, but Danny was perfectly in focus as he dove straight for the large object. 'Swimming' after Danny, the camera continued to follow him as he paddled to the front of the plane. The window where the pilot should have been was smashed, and there were no signs of life anywhere.

It was almost as if the pilot had never been there in the first place.

After frantically searching for a couple more seconds, Danny turned around and made his way towards the surface. A couple of people watching were shocked at how long the kid could hold his breath, then again teenage boys were known to have a massive set of lungs.

Digging through the water, he had almost made it to the top when something stopped him. A hand grabbed Danny's foot and pulled him back into the darkness. The frightened teen yelped, and bubbles of air escaped his mouth. Turning around to face his attacker, Danny sacrificed a few more bubbles and gasped at the glowing red eyes of the creature before him. Then, Danny growled and lunged at Twist while the sadistic ghost simply twisted away.

"I didn't come to fight, Daniel, I just wanted to warn you," Twist laughed, speaking without actually opening his mouth, startling Danny who was obviously confused. "Don't do anything you'll regret, you never know who might be watching. Have fun trying to keep your little secret while you're stranded with your class."

Danny tried to swing at him again but missed. Arms flaying around like mad, he only punched open water. Twist was gone. Again.

The teen's raven black hair floated carelessly around his head as he whipped back and forth, searching the water for the annoying ghost. When he found nothing, his teeth clenched, and he swam up to get air.

Sucking in copious amounts as he resurfaced, he glared angrily at the water before making his way towards his beat-up classmates. Danny's pale hand gripped the edge of the pile and he pulled himself on a little blue suitcase he noticed he could fit on, being extra careful not to push anyone off. He brushed up against someone's leg and shivered. Sparing a glance at the people around him, the child sighed loudly with a defeated look.

"God, this is all my fault," he whispered.

Without warning, the feed cut off and Twist's face came back. "That's all for today, folks. See you tomorrow." Affronted by the abrupt goodbye, and completely unsure what to do next, the humans of the world stared blankly at the technology in front of them as everywhere across the world electronically devices returned to normal.

'What exactly just happened?'

Me: Just thought I should tell you for giggles, I picked Southwest Airlines for a specific reason. My family travels a lot and every time we've used Southwest, something bad has happened: we spent the night at the airport because our flight was delayed, they found a crack on the side of the plane and we sat for 3 hours while they fixed it, and engine caught on fire (thankfully before we took off), we made our layover flight by only 2 minutes due to our first plane being delayed 4 hours, and our luggage ended up in Europe while we went to Maine.

Danny: I think my experience definitely tops yours.

Q & A:

Super Danny?

Have you seen how strong ectoplasm makes ghosts, even skinny kids like Pointdexter? Pumping that green stuff through his veins at an alarming speed lets Danny channel ghost powers in his human form, including super strength. Plus, ghost hunting requires a lot of endurance.
