"You've got a point there, Jack." Pitch boomed.

Where was the voice coming from, though? Pitch sounded close, but also far. Jack and I decided to get out of the cage before Pitch used it to his advantage. I ran across on my stem and jumped down, landing swiftly on my feet. I met Jack at the bottom and before anyone could do or say anything, a stampede of black horses charged.

The leaf that I was holding had knowingly transformed into a pointed sword once again. I was confused.

I'm pretty sure a horse doesn't look . . . sand-like?

I watched as Jack shot a bolt from a staff that he had been holding. The second the bolt hit the black, sand-like horse and it exploded. These creatures that appeared to be fighting for Pitch were not normal.

Pitch.

Where did he go?

I felt pressure on my back and fell forward. Thankfully my reflexes worked fast and I managed to catch myself before my face made contact with the ground. I pushed myself back up and quickly turned around to face the tall, gray man.

"Pushing? Really? That's a little childish." I chuckled. The words flowed from my mouth with ease. The leaf quickly rewrapped itself back around my hand, having shrunk so it wouldn't be in the way when I when I almost fell face first.

Pitch sneered at my words. "You really seemed like you had potential, you know. I believed that we could have gotten along. I could have helped you. I could have shown you this rotten world for what it really is, and then you'd see why I do what I do; you would want to be by my side. You could have ruled with me." He lunged for me, attempting to grab me.

I stepped back out of his reach and smirked at him. "You rule this mud hole you call 'home' and from what I gather . . . that isn't much. You're the bad guy. You're meant to be beaten. You will never win." I swung my sword at him and managed to cut a part of his gown, and surprisingly make contact with his skin as well.

A black, thick liquid oozed out of this cut as he touched it lightly. "You wretched girl," Pitch laughed. "No one has ever done that! There is hope for you yet, but you must pay for this first." He motioned to his now cut stomach.

"An eye for an eye . . ." Pitch disappeared into the crowd. "And a tooth for a tooth." I heard the voice say clearly; even through all the fighting that surrounded me.

Suddenly, I felt something pierce my side. I looked down and saw a black arrow sticking out, but the head of it was buried deep in me. I watched as a dark red liquid spill from the wound before I looked up and came face-to-face with the Boogeyman.

"Boo." He whispered.

Without thinking, I lunged at him. My leaf shaped itself back around my finger as I attempted to grab for Pitch's neck. I want to hurt him more now than ever. I want to see him beaten. But I want him to be beaten by me, by my own two hands.

That was a mistake.

Pitch laughed at my weak attempt and let me stumble and fall onto my hands and knees. I groaned in pain and tried to shift onto my back. Red liquid was leaking out of me . . . I think it's called blood? Yeah, blood. It was spilling out of me fast. I was starting to feel drained and weak. And I'm sure that my skin looked paler than before.

I could hear Pitch laugh as I tried to focus my eyes on a black figure charging me. I struggled with my vision but I instantly realized it was one of the odd-looking horses. I used my hands to cover my head and prepared my body for the worst.

But it never came.

I opened my eyes to see a furry figure smirking down at me. I watched as the large rabbit raised his paw to catch a boomerang that I saw him holding up earlier.

"I got ya covered, mate." He smiled.

I tried to say 'thank you' but my wound prevented me. I flinched at the pain and found that it was hard for me to open my mouth and speak.

"Are you alright, Shelia?" The rabbit bent down to help me up but stopped once I shook my head. It was a slow movement and it took a lot of energy.

"What's wrong? His face was full of concern.

Shakily, I removed my hands that I had cupped around my wound. I gave a small whimper as fresh air brushed past and into my cut.

The rabbit's face looked shocked. Just from his face I could tell that my injury was a lot worse that I originally thought. Suddenly the rabbit was shouting for North. I stared at the ground and focused on staying awake. My blood loss must be making me tired.

But a nap sounds so good right now.

Sleep. Just the thought of the word made it sound so inviting. I cupped my hands around my wound again and thought that maybe I could close my eyes for a few seconds. I could. But it's cold. Too cold. Was I cold? No. Well, yes, but the cold wasn't coming from me.

My eyes searched the ground for the source of the sudden cold air.

Furry feet, that's the bunny. Bare feet, that's Jack.

Jack!

I could see his feet moving closer to me. I bought my eyes up to see Jack's face. His eyebrows were brought together, making his face look very concerned.

"What happened?" Jack started. "Did Pitch do this to you?" I gave a small whimper. "He did, didn't he?" Jack's face looked angry. "I'm going to do much worse to him once I get ahold of him."

"Right now we have to focus on helping her." The bunny said sternly. "Stay here while I go get North.

I saw that Jack wanted to say something but with a quick look at me he stopped and nodded. We both watched as the oversized rabbit jumped from the platform we were on to one of the leaning bridges.

I tried to speak to Jack, to tell him that I wanted to sleep, but it was too cold and I couldn't form the words. All that came from my mouth was another whimper.

My whimper grabbed Jack's attention. He eyes softened when he immediately looked down at me. I could see that he was frustrated – torn between going after Pitch and staying with me.

Jack's hand hovered over my hands and I could feel the coolness radiating off of them. "Can I see?"

I flinched again as I raised my hands from around my injury; the fresh air was colder this time.

If Jack's face could pale any more than it already was I'm sure it would.

"It's not so bad." Jack tried to make the situation lighter and gave me a half smile. "Maybe if I just . . ." He put down his staff and raised both his hands to my cut.

The moment his hands came in contact with my skin I yelped. It was cold. My muscles tensed at Jack's touch.

Jack quickly brought his hands away. "I'm sorry. I thought it might help." He gave me an apologetic look.

I thought for a few seconds. He was right, it did help. It got my mind off my pain and the cold felt good anyway. The only thing that was a little gross was my blood everywhere. I guess Jack either didn't notice or didn't really care at the moment. And I mean, how could you not notice?

I opened my mouth again to speak but, unlike before, some words actually came out. "Blood . . . don't want . . . touch . . ."

Yeah, I couldn't say a lot but it was something.

"You don't want to get your blood on me?" Jack asked.

Something like that.

"Don't worry about that right now. You're in pain and if I can help in any way then I'll be glad too." Jack explained.

I stared at him.

"Seriously." He reassured.

I reached for his hands again and brought it towards my cut. Once I got near my cut, I hovered over with his hand for a bit; I needed to prepare myself again for the cold touch. After a few seconds I gently brought his hand down onto my skin, holding it close to my wound but not directly on top. I still wanted to get as little blood on him as possible. I shivered at his touch but it felt better this time, and it made me want to sleep more. I started to blink heavily and relax into Jack's touch.

"Hey, hey don't sleep. You can't sleep right now, okay?" Jack sounded a little panicked. "You have to stay awake. Keep your eyes open."

As much as I wanted to listen to him, I couldn't. I needed to close my eyes.

Jack shuffled and picked up my upper body and held it to him. "Don't. Seriously, stay up. North will be here in a minute. Come on, stay awake!"

Keeping my eyes open became harder.

I'm sorry, Jack, but I can't.

"North! North, where are you?" Jack started shouting. "North!"

I blinked one last time.

"North, please!"

I finally shut my eyes.

"North!"

xXxXx

Hey guys! :D
College started up for me again not too long ago
So whoo

Also the love came home for a bit and I spent time with him.

Now the love left again and I have my schedule down pretty well. I figured out I have a whole class to continue writing this story. I literally do nothing in the class but listen to the Professor lecture. And then play a hella bunch of YouTube videos. He's got such a monotone voice too, oh my no.

Anyways, sorry for taking so long, I hope you enjoyed it!

Until next chapter~
