(So after several years of this laying stagnant here on FF, I have taken it upon myself to completely rewrite this. It is no longer going to be JacobOC, as I have a new project that is Jacob OC; I would also like this to more closely follow the canon story so I have to edit it. Also, I am not one for incest, and having Quil's cousin be with Jacob is a bit of a stretch, considering they're cousins. Plus, Seth is a precious baby 3, anyways here we go- again.)
Moonlit
Chapter four: Repercussions
"Um…. I…I don't know. Isn't it supposed to rain today?" I asked, hoping that I could get out of this one.
"Nope, the weather is actually supposed to be relatively nice today," Quil said with a condescending grin, "I was thinking that we could go cliff diving."
I gulped… cliff diving, dear god what kind of girl did he think I was? There was no way I would go with Quil and Jake cliff diving.
"I think it's a good idea," Jacob said suddenly, distracting my train of thought. Well I guess it couldn't hurt to go at least. I don't actually have to dive, or even go in the water. Plus, as Quil said, it was going to be a nice day…
"I don't have my swimsuit though…." I said, trying for one last ditch attempt
"We'll stop at your house on the way!" Quil said, making it final.
I sighed, "Fine, but I won't dive. There is NO way I'm diving." I fidgeted nervously, Jake and Quil just grinned at each other- Seth at least had the decency to look a little apologetic.
"I'll go with you, since I'm sure you don't remember where the cliffs are," Quil said grinning at my pained expression and heading towards the door, "We can take my bike!" At this my face must have looked horrified, because Quil quickly added "Or we could walk. I think walking sounds good!" I rolled my eyes, how old did he think I was, two? It's not like I didn't know where I was going, but I obediently followed him out of the house, because the truth was, if he didn't take me I'd wimp out.
The two of us headed towards my house, while Seth and Jake made their way to the beach on foot, heading the opposite direction of us. Seth smiled and waved before Jake and him disappeared around a bend in the road. When I looked back at Quil, he had a weird look on his face. I tried to walk slowly towards my house, dragging out the trip to the beach as long as possible, but Quil's long legs kept me from attempting this for too long.
I must have had a scared look on my face because Quil finally rolled his eyes and said "Don't worry so much," before grinning and ruffling my hair. I fake glowered at him as he continued to chuckle.
After a quick stop at my new house, where I quickly changed into the only bathing suit I could find… which happened to be the only bikini I owned, the joys of moving I supposed. I undoubtedly knew that this was going to end badly, buy I made my way back to Quil before we headed towards the beach.
The majority of the walk consisted of me trying desperately to get out of cliff diving. I must have tried every excuse in the book, including 'I can't swim'. Which in all reality, was true, but Quil was stubborn. He wouldn't let me weasel my way out of this one. After a while I gave up and the rest of the way there was relatively silent except for the crunch of ground under our feet.
Quil stopped not far from the cliffs he and the others were supposed to be jumping off of. Even from a distance they looked menacingly high. "I uh….forgot to turn the oven off!" I said, trying one more time to convince Quil to let me stay on solid, dry land. My attempts were in vain.
"No you didn't," Quil said bluntly, grinning and walking off. This of course caused me grumble incoherent threats under my breath. I trudged behind him, resigned in my fate; I looked like a condemned man awaiting the verdict of the jury. I mean I could swim, but not that well, and I really didn't want to give it a try…jumping off what seemed to be impossibly tall cliffs.
"Dude, cheer up," Quil said laughing, "you look like you're about to die." I rolled my eyes and looked away. Now wasn't the time to bring up my insecurities; they would have to wait until I had gotten through this… ordeal. The other two guys were already at the cliff, chatting amicably; that is until we walked up… Or should I say I. It seems that whenever I walked over things got quiet.
I rubbed my arm out of sheer nervousness. Maybe I could just sit up her and watch.
"So who's first?" Jake said, his voice smug, verging on annoying, as he tried to break the awkward silence.
"I think that little Quinny should go first, since she is the youngest," Quil said, grinning evilly. Oh hell no, he was NOT making me do this. I shook my head stubbornly and pouted. There is no way he could make me get anywhere near that cliff. My childish pouting made Seth laugh, which in turn made me blush.
"I'll… just stay up here," I said nervously, plopping down in the sand not too far from the edge of the cliff.
"Fiiiine," Quil said grumbling and acting childish, "Ruin all the fun." I chuckled.
What happened next quite literally made me the most flustered I've ever been. Ya know, normally seeing a guy shirtless was ok. I mean you see ads all over magazines and stuff, but when you have three fairly well muscled guys standing in front of you, it's quite awkward. I mean it wasn't so awkward with Quil or Jake cause, well because they were my cousins. Ok, so it was really only Seth. But he was well… he was definitely well toned, to say the least.
I averted my eyes as he took off his shirt, a blush creeping across my caramel skin. Even with my averted eyes, I couldn't help but notice how Seth's muscled rippled under his skin as he moved. Realizing this, I blushed even more, if that was humanly possible, which it apparently was because I was achieving it.
And before I could even think another dirty, teenage thought, all three men disappeared over the edge of the cliff. Even though I knew there was water below them, I couldn't help gasping. I shook my head and mumbled under my breath, something along the lines of 'One of these days…' I settled back into the sand, leaning on my arms and staring at the sky.
Quil had been right, it was quite a nice day, and the warm breeze carried the noise of the waves hitting the cliffs down below. That also meant that I could hear the raucous laughter and splashing coming from the water. I shook my head and smiled. Well, if they were down there that meant that I wouldn't be tempted to let my mind wander about some very attractive young men. I couldn't help but blush as I thought of Seth with his shirt off…
Seeing as it was a nice day, I peeled off my shirt, revealing by bikini top. Now if any of the guys had been up here, I would never have been so… open about my clothing? I pulled my knees into my chest and rested my head on my knees, and stared at the scenery; that was one thing La Push had going for it- it was breathtakingly beautiful here.
The crunch of sand under feet made me jump as my head snapped to my left. I blushed, it was Seth. The others weren't with him, and I figured they'd probably not be back up until later, as I could still here their laughter from the water below.
His hair was wet and water flew off the ends as he shook his head and smiled nervously before sitting beside me. "Uh.. hey," he said. I blushed and looked back at the horizon, not sure I could trust my voice. I nodded my head as a hello;. It was at that moment that I realized I was wonderfully half naked, which caused me to redden to the color of a ripe tomato… just great.
Seth looked almost as uncomfortable as I did, he kept fidgeting and staring off, before peeking at my quickly when he thought I didn't know. It was almost like a school boy and… his first crush?
"So um… I… there's going to be a party further along the beach later… and I.. was wondering if you wanted to go?" he said nervously.
"Um… I'd like that," I said, not stuttering nearly as bad as he did, for once. I smiled nervously. 'Uh, what time.. is it?" I asked.
"Can.. Can I just pick you up at… 6-ish?" he asked, getting some of his nerves under control.
I smiled shyly. "I'd like that," I said smiling.
He beamed at me, and he was back to the Seth from a couple of minutes ago- goofy and cheery. Then I saw the familiar redness that was usually found on my cheeks creep onto his face. "The whole p… group will be there. There's a bunch of people I want you to meet. They're all pretty cool," he said cheerfully. I blushed and nodded my head quickly.
"Sounds fun," I said, trying to stop the blush from spreading even further. With that Seth was back on his feet and heading towards the cliff again.
"You sure you're ok up here by yourself? I can jump with you if you want." Seth said, turning back to look at me. He seemed almost eager to include me in the fun, it was rather cute. I sighed, knowing I'd regret this choice later.
"Ok, but promise to not make fun of me for how terrible I am at swimming," I groaned, Seth just beamed back at me like a child whose bedtime was just extended for an extra hour. As I made my way to where Seth was, he grabbed my hand and I was suddenly struck with how hot he was- I meant temperature, although he was rather attractive as well. I blushed and tried to hide it by staring down the edge of the cliff, which was a huge mistake.
Before I could back out though, Seth was counting to three and then I was jumping and screaming and almost as suddenly as it happened I had hit the water and the fall was over. The water was much colder than I expected and I spluttered to the surface trying to keep myself from sinking. I heard Quil and Jake cheering and Seth was beaming at me; he dragged me to the shore and I realized that he still had my hand. I blushed but was thankful that if asked, I could blame the freezing water on the redness. Once on dry land, I vowed never to do that again and plopped myself on some rocks while the boys rough housed in the water.
As the hours passed and the sun began to sink, I began to get a little nervous about this party; I wondered what kinds of people would be there. I assumed that Quil and Jake would be there- maybe I could make some more friends. Maybe there would be some girls my age.
"Hey, let's go get our clothes; it's almost time for the bonfire," Quil said, making his way out of the water. I followed the guys up the cliff; Seth and Jake were arguing over who had the best jump or something and I smiled as Jake put Seth in a headlock. In the matter of two days I had made three friends, true two were family and were kinda obligated to be my friend, but it was still nice. I hoped that the people Seth wanted me to meet were just as friendly.
A/N: So that's the end of the rewrite- I'm going to try to update this again as soon as possible, since its winter break I should have some extra time. But I'm also trying to work on my new story that was just posted so, I may alternate weeks that this is updated. Wish me luck!
