Hey Guys! I am back! I am overwhelmed by your response and would like to thank you for your support and time! So, as promised, here's the second date of our beloved Leyton, PLUS the surprise! Have fun and please review! I'm really sorry for the late post but I was catching up on my studies AND my exams. Here it is!
It was 6 am. Lucas had had a restless night. As much as he tried to, he just COULDN'T get Peyton out of his mind. After debating with himself, pretty much the whole night, he decided to ignore the silly bet, and call her. Maybe it would help him to get to know her better. She was a puzzle, but Lucas was determined to figure her out.
He looked at his palm and smiled. Why put off good things at the last moment? It would be best to call her now. He quickly dialled her number.
The phone was picked up at the fifth ring.
"Hello?" he heard a sleepy voice at the other end say.
"Hi, may I speak to Peyton please?"
"Who's this?" the voice said, indignantly.
"I'm Lucas, Lucas Scott. Peyton's date. We went out yesterday." Said Lucas, a bit intimidated by the voice.
He heard a squeal and muffled voices on the other end. Finally he heard a voice.
"Hello?" he heard Peyton say in her sweet way. Stop it, Lucas! He scolded himself. Get to the point!
"Hi Peyton, it's me, Lucas."
"Lucas? What's the matter?" she squeaked.
"Well, you told me to give you a call on Saturday." He said, in his shy voice.
"And it's Saturday. Of course." She completed for him.
After many moments of awkward silence, Lucas finally spoke.
"Sooo...Would you like to go out with me, again?" he said, his voice slightly catching at the end.
"I'd love to!" said Peyton, excited.
"Great! So Red Sky Cafe, tonight at 8. Is that okay?"
"Totally! So... Goodbye, I guess." She said.
"Bye." He said, both of them unwilling to hang up.
Peyton took a deep breath. Oh. My. God. She thought. Lucas Scott certainly knew how to take girls by surprise! Roll over, 8 O' clock.
AT THE OTHER END OF TOWN
"Hey bro!" said Nathan Scott, enveloping his brother in a bear hug.
"Hey man!" said Lucas. "I wasn't expecting you till after two days!"
Nathan shrugged. "I finished work early and decided to surprise you. Besides, I still have to find out about the outcome of your bet." He said.
"Well...umm..." said Lucas, quite unsure of what to say.
"Oh my God. You chickened out, didn't you?" Nathan said.
"No! I went online and met a girl named Peyton Scott... I mean Sawyer. We went out on a date and we're going out today too." Said Lucas, stuttering as he accidentally said her name wrong.
Nathan smirked. He knew his little brother very well to know that he had lost his heart to this Peyton girl.
"Well good luck, bro. And stop blushing like a girl! It's weird." He said, laughing as Lucas play-kicked him.
AT RED SKY CAFE
"Welcome to Red Sky Cafe. I'm Trisha, your host for the night. Are you ready to place your order?"
"Yes, the lady would like to have the Coq Au Vin, and I'll go for the Mahi-Mahi. We would also like two Green Apple sodas, please."
"So, what's up with you? I thought that this was just a bet." Said Peyton, a little bit of pain being reflected in her voice.
Lucas heard the pain. He decided that he must get rid of it.
"It was. But we can't deny the obvious attraction between us. I mean, you're a great girl. You send off all the right signals. It's pretty clear to me that I was being stupid before, but you really had me thinking about you all night, Peyton. I'm sorry for being so obtuse before. The main reason I asked you out tonight is to ask for your forgiveness. And also to ask you one more thing." Lucas said, a little hesitant.
Peyton was awestruck. Nobody had ever said that to her before. His deep blue eyes said a great deal more than HE actually did.
"What? Ask me what?" she asked, urging him.
"Well", he said, scratching his head, "I would like us to, you know, go out." He said, a little embarrassed.
WHAT?! Thought Peyton. Is he seriously asking us to be a couple? Sigh!
"You mean, like a couple?" she squeaked.
"Yeah, you know like boyfriend and girlfriend. That sort of ... thing." He said, haltingly. Why was this so difficult? He had rehearsed this a hundred times this morning; it had never been this difficult!
Peyton at first gaped. Then, she giggled. Looking at Lucas' face, she covered his hand with his and said shyly, "I'd love that."
Lucas' face brightened. Inwardly, he thought to himself, "Mission accomplished!"
The pair of them spent their first evening as a couple; talking, laughing, and not caring about the people in the restaurant around them. It was just the two of them, in their private bubble. Both of them didn't want that night to end.
AT PEYTON'S HOUSE
"Well, I had a great time." Said Peyton.
"Hey isn't that what they all say in movies? You stole their line!" said Lucas, in faux disapproval.
"Well in movies, after the first big date, the girl always kisses the boy." She said, a naughty grin on her face.
"Is that so?" said Lucas, leaning in.
Peyton's breath hitched. She could feel his breath. It was mingling with hers. They were so close that the heat from their bodies was intertwined. Lucas took a look at her rosy lips. He could still feel her kiss from the previous date. He wanted more. She moaned his name. That's when he lost his final string of restraint. He pulled her to him, his hand circling around her thin waist, his lips crashing against hers.
Peyton was shocked. At first, she didn't know how to react. But then, she lost all logical train of thought. She just wanted him, and never wanted that moment to end. Sighing deeply, she welcomed his lips on her and intertwined her lips with his. She circled her arms around his shoulders and poured all of her love, affection and attraction into that kiss.
If they would have wanted, the kiss could have gone on forever. But both of them HAD to pull away to catch their breath.
Lucas pulled her against him and rested his forehead against hers.
"Until next time, Ms. Sawyer."
"Until next time, Mr. Scott."
With this, both of them parted, unwillingly, looking back to see one last glimpse of each other.
So how was it? I'm sorry for such a late update, but the education system here is HARROWING. So I cannot promise an update, but will try as and when I can. Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your appreciation. It means a lot to me. A small review would really help me out a lot! Thanks!
