"…and then the dumbass tried to give me $110 for a night!" Gracia said rolling her eyes as she stirred her tea. The three of them were having lunch at the fanciest restaurant the older sister could find and were enjoying their food. The oldest sister was going on about a man that she was doing a job for only for the guy to ask for sex. Meanwhile Xellos was quiet as to keep the peace. It seemed like every time they were around each other, they were at each other's throats every time Xellos opened his mouths. As long as she kept her mouth shut, he'd keep his comments to himself.
"Then what'd you do, Nee-chan?" Amelia asked her eyes getting wider.
"I beat him up and took all his money!" she laughed, making Xello winced. Oh how he hated that laugh. He couldn't see how the younger sister could handle the woman's horrible laugh. It was driving him up the wall!
"You know, you remind me of Miss Lina." Amelia told her as she ate more of her cake. "She would do the same thing."
"Lina? Hm…I knew a girl named Lina." She smirked as she took a sip of wine.
"What was she like?"
"She was tom-boyish, had a really flat chest, not to mention that she couldn't ever even dream of being as wonderful a sorceress as myself!" The older woman once again laughed. Amelia raised a brow at this. The Lina her sister knew sounded a lot like her Lina as well. Before she could press on for more information, Xellos slammed his hand down on the table.
"Could you stop doing that?!" Xellos snapped, his eye twitching. "The laugh is…"
"I'll do whatever I want!" she slammed her fist onto the table as well as she glared at him.
"Gracia…" began her sister. She really didn't feel like hearing the two arguing again. They had been arguing the whole time they had become their own little group. It was rare to not hear the three of them to have a decent conversation without her older sister and boyfriend fighting.
"I wish you would shut your mouth, you sneaky creep," Gracia glared at Xellos. "I can see it in his eyes!"
"Xellos! Gracia! Please calm down!" Amelia was close to tears. She wanted her sister and boyfriend to get along. She wasn't used to any of this constant fighting. Even in her old group of friends there wasn't this much fighting. "Please!"
"Look what you did!" Naga kissed her sister on her forehead and hugged her. "Poor, baby."
"You're the one making her cry, you idiot!" Xello snapped.
"HOW?!"
"Guys please!" Amelia said a little louder.
Both of them ignored her and continued to argue, both slinging insults each other. Amelia sighed and just went to a nearby restaurant to eat. It was almost like she was with Lina again…but in a smaller group. Sure they all had their moments with them each other's throats, but not as often as her sister and her boyfriend. She really wanted to get along like family considering they were going to be a family. She wasn't sure how she was going to unite the two otherwise. She wished Lina was here so she could ask her.
By the time she was half-way done, Xellos had joined her. "Sorry about that, Amelia. I got a little carried away."
"I really hope you and Nee-chan get along soon." She sighed. "I really don't want our baby hearing all this bickering."
"And it won't." Xellos held his girlfriend's hand. "I'm trying my very best to get along with Gracia, but she just hates me!"
"She just needs to get to know you better is all." She looked around. "Where is she anyways?"
"She ran off on me," he shrugged. He hadn't plotted on going after the woman either. "Maybe to come find you or something. I don't know. Maybe you should talk to her more about trying to get along with me. It doesn't seem to be working."
Amelia had tried, but Gracia wasn't very trusting towards him because he was a mazuko. The older woman was thinking that the woman had been tricked or trapped into the relationship. Amelia assured her that this wasn't the case as Xellos and her had fallen in love and she had ended up pregnant with the man's baby. She had attempted to ask her sister to try with Xellos multiple times and she still argued with him. She knew her sister was just trying to protect her, but if she really wanted to help out, she'd stop antagonizing him. She didn't trust Xellos, thinking that he had her trapped into the relationship or tricked her. Maybe they just needed something to bond over besides her. Hopefully for the sake of the baby, they'd start acting less horrendous around him or her.
"Forget about Gracia. How are you?"
"Okay at the moment," she rubbed her large stomach. She was continuing to get progressively bigger as the days went by. It wouldn't be long before she had the baby and she was getting worried. She had obviously never had a baby before, let alone a half mazuko baby. What if she died because childbirth or giving birth sucked all of the energy out of her rendering her bedridden for a while? Even with her big sister and lover here, she was still terrified. "He or she's about here, isn't it?"
"Looks like it," he placed a hand on her stomach. Like his girlfriend, he was worried about her giving birth. Amelia was so tiny. What if she died giving birth? Gracia had already confessed this worry in private out in an aggressive tone and Xellos understood her worries. One thing they agreed one was that Amelia couldn't hear them talking about how dangerous it might be for her to give birth. "We could set up here. The nearest hospital outside of this town is miles away. We'd probably be better off staying here just in case."
"I wonder how far Lina-san is," she looked outside of the window next to her table. "We've been on the road for a few weeks."
"Who knows. I guess I could check in on her."
"No, you can't!" she exclaimed. She was sure Lina put two and two together and would harm, or at least try to harm, Xellos. "Lina..."
"Don't worry, my dear," he placed his hands over her's. "I've popped in plenty of times on you all before I stayed permanently and none of you ever noticed. It was the only way I could watch you grow more beautiful day by day without one of your friends telling me off for it."
"Okay, just be careful," she kissed his cheek. Xellos left the restaurant, leaving the princess to finish her food.
