Hisoka's POV
I cough up mouthful of blood just as Naraku sends another tentacle to stab into my chest. Instead, I duck a bit and it ends up slicing across my face. Blood begins to flow out of the wound quickly and I have no doubt that when that heals, there will definitely be a long scar there.
"You had the shikon jewel shard within your grasp, and you let the flithy half demon run away with it! And that wolf demon had two shards left in his legs that you did not even try to get either!" Naraku yells at me as I put a quivering hand on my face, and when I pull it back it's covered in my scarlet blood.
Naraku quickly sends another tentacle though the same shoulder that I was bitten by that wolf a few days ago. It had just healed up this morning and that sends a fresh wave of white hot pain through my body. It adds on greatly to all the other injuries he has given me in this past hour of torture.
"Have you had enough?" He growls with a unpleasant sneer across his face.
I do not answer while I am down on my hands and knees throwing up what I managed to hunt for Kohaku and myself to eat this morning. A tentacle wraps around my neck and pulls me up to directly face Naraku's evil eyes and the still present sneer of disgust directed to myself. "I will stop this if you stop fighting my full control over you."
I try desperately to get some air; he is not choking me completely to rid myself of air. He is just making it harder to breathe than it already is. I get a mouthful, "Never. I'll never stop fighting. I'll never let you use me to hurt and kill innocent people again." Naraku tightens his hold and I let out a high, breathless gasp of pain.
"Then I'll take out Kohaku's shard from his neck." Kohaku appears next to us. He's kneeling before Naraku with his head bent. I cannot see his eyes, but I know that they are blank and lifeless as the doll I received from Chici-jue once when I was a small child.
Kohaku was a complete emotionless wreck when we came to our senses after attacking Sango and remembering what happened on that last horrible extermination. He was easily taken under the control of Naraku, body and mind, in the promise that he would forget what we have done and seen. Now he is just a lifeless puppet waiting for his strings to be moved again, but I have been fighting relentlessly to not be taken over completely. At some points, Naraku has taken over my body, and two rare times my mind as well, but I'm determined to get free of his grasp and then work on getting Kohaku away alive as well.
A tentacle moves towards him to plunge through Kohaku's neck. I quickly snap out of my thoughts. "No!" I shriek desperately and try to struggle out of the chokehold, but all it does is cause me more pain. "Fine! I'll give in to you, just don't kill him, please!" I cry with tears leaking out of the corners of my eyes. I go limp and hang my head in sadness and shame. I gave up this quickly the second after I promised myself I would not give in. Dread fills every pore of my body.
'I promised myself that I will keep Kohaku alive no matter what it takes. He's innocent and does not deserve any of this. I will protect my younger brother in the best ways that I can.' I tell myself to hold on to some bit of sanity I may have left. I must, or else I would already be in the same state as my younger brother.
Naraku smirks evilly and sets me down on my knees. He retracts the tentacle away from Kohaku and dismisses him. "You will go with Kagura and….."
My eyes glaze over as he speaks while looking deeply into my eyes with a red tint glowing into them.
I kneel outside of a room of the new castle we are residing in. Kagura approaches silently and speaks through the screen hanging from the ceiling. "So you made me to do the dirty work as you watch from a distance?" Kagura speaks without casting me a glance as I continue to kneel beside the door, waiting. "Fine by me, it makes things easier for me in the long run." She parts the curtains with her fan and steps inside.
She is trying to steal the shikon no tama shard placed in there, but it is useless to try to at all. Naraku put a barrier around it to keep her and the wolf demons away from it. If somehow they managed to get past Kagura and into the castle, but that is highly unlikely to happen.
Naraku is planning to lure the wolf demons here with the rumor of a large shikon shard owned by a lord living here. And it worked, they should be on their way by now.
He's playing one of his games, and I am yet again another piece in them.
I stand off in the shadows, waiting for my time to join the game that Naraku has set up carefully. The half demon, monk, and demon slayer are relentlessly trying to subdue the undead wolf demons that Kagura killed moments ago, but it will do them no good. They are already dead, and no matter how many times they cut them down, they'll get right back up again and keep attacking. After a few minutes, I notice Kagura make a disappointed expression and change the attacks. Koga must be here then.
Kagura sends the undead wolf demons to collide with the half demon and then shuts her fan when he is surrounded by many of them.
The half demon is standing there, looking desperately confused and in deep shock as the wolf demons around him suddenly yell and scream in pain with blood and foam spurting out of their death wounds. The haynou is covered in their blood by the time Koga arrives to the scene.
"INUYASHA!" Koga yells in rage when he lands on a building of the castle and takes in the view of slaughter of his comrades before him.
The half demon turns around to fully face Koga. "Before you make any assumptions, these guys were already dead when I got here." He starts but Koga immediately cuts him off.
"SHUT UP!" Koga shouts in fury, his anger is slowly starting to take over him, "You can't lie to me, you're covered head to foot in their blood!"
"Koga, you're wrong! We came here looking for Naraku and instead found the wolf tribe slaughtered!" The young priestess calls up to him in a pleading voice.
Koga makes a confused face when he recognizes her, "You're that girl from before..."
"They were dead by the time we got here. And they attacked us, but they were zombies!" She tries desperately to reason with him, but he no pays no mind to her and completely brushes off that statement.
"Where's Hisoka?" He growls and leans towards her menacingly with his fangs bared.
Naraku figured that Koga would ask about my whereabouts, that is also why I am here.
The priestess's face falters, "I don't know. None of us do. She ran away when you were taken back to the wolf demon tribe den."
"You don't kill her either, did you? You blood thirsty mutt!" He directs his shout of fury back to the half demon.
The monk voices all their thoughts on the situation, "It looks like we were set up. One of Naraku's dirty tricks. It was the poisoness insects that lead us here in the first place, and the wolf tribe was somehow enticed here too, then they were quickly slaughtered."
I continue to watch all of them in silence with Naraku's strong scent masking my own from reaching the demons' sharp noses. The only one who knows that I am here is Kagura, and she does not pay attention to me much. I am alone in this part of the game.
The female demon slayer adds, "And Koga rushed over just in time, to see Inuyasha covered in their blood."
"The sight of the slaughter has put Koga into a mixed rage of vengeance. They will fight to the death." The monk says again. He's correct, that is another part Naraku's plan for this battle. For one to kill the other. It doesn't matter which one dies or lives, Kagura will just finish off the remaining one; no doubt that he will be injured and weakened from the battle.
Koga jumps down off the roof and throws a punch to the haynou. The haynou dodges, and for one second, they are face to face in midair. Koga throws another punch that misses once again. A powerful light explodes from the punch when his fist connects with the ground instead of the haynou's head.
"You've got your strength back, Koga? I see you've managed to find another jewel shard for your arm." The haynou points out after dodging that powerful attack.
"You stole my other jewel shard the last time we met, but I warn you, this one's even better." He growls from a hunched position, staring the haynou down with a heated glare. Dark red light pulses from the shard in his arm.
The priestess runs up then stops when she sees the light, "That strange light, was that from the jewel shard?" She says to herself in shock. "No, it's darker, and the energy is warped! What's it actually a fragment of?" That is not a jewel shard of the shikon no tama. It is a fake that Naraku had a wolf demon bring back to the tribe's den and give to Koga to drive him here.
Meanwhile, Koga aims another punch to Inuyasha, but he jumps out of the way just in time to not be crushed into the dirt. Inuyasha jumps away from Koga again, and he goes in for another attack. Inuyasha just makes it out of the line of fire once again, and when Koga's hand connects with the ground, it creates a crater and a burst of white light.
"Stop it, Koga! Listen to me, please! This whole thing is a trap, Inuyasha didn't kill your friends, it was somebody else!" The priestess tries yet again to make him see it from their point of view, but he brushes her off for the third time.
"Shut up! Your words are cheap! I'll believe that when I see it with my own eyes!" He shouts back.
The monk speaks to her, "It's no use Kagome. He's got a block of wood for a brain, and he can't grasp onto anything too complicated. There's no reason with the moron, all he understands is a few punches in the head."
I remember of the demon wolf tribes, they live in packs and cherish each other as if they were all siblings or close family. Seeing so many of his brothers dead at once would cause him much grief and fury.
Koga begins to growl louder and more constant now and I'm suspecting he will break soon.
Naraku has fueled the fire of hate that Koga already had for the haynou, to make them fight each other until only one is left standing. Then Kagura and I, if I am needed at all depending on whom the victor is, will kill the one that is left.
I blankly continue to watch them until the haynou is badly injured by Koga and doesn't get up from the crater he is in. I suspect that he is dead and Koga confirms it when he speaks that the haynou is not moving at all.
The imaginary switch turns on again and my eyes widen while my feet race out of the shadows where everyone can see me.
"Aune-jue!' Sango cries out and steps towards me, but Miroku takes a hold of her arm.
The monk warns her warily, "Wait, she still could be under Naraku's control." Sango stares at me in fear of losing me again while he speaks.
"Sango, get out of here right now!" I yell at her in a command then whip my head around to where Kagura is. She starts to speak and comes out of the shadows.
"Quite an annoying one you are." She smirks at me then introduces herself to the group behind us. "My name is Kagura, the Wind Sorceress."
I charge at her with pure fury in my eyes, "Soon you're going to be the dead wind sorceress!" I scream and raise my katakanas to cut her in half.
"You're supposed to be killing them too, do as Naraku says!' She shouts and sends her Wind Blades at me. They come too fast for me to dodge out of the way and one quickly grazes my already wounded shoulder and I cry out in agony and stop in my tracks. I grasp my sticky wet shoulder and let out multiple gasps of pain. I stare at Kagura, whom is smirking in amusement at my pain.
"Anue-jue!" Sango cries out again, and I hear her footsteps running to me. I pull myself up and hold my uninjured arm up in the air to stop her from coming any closer.
"Don't come any closer Sango, she's very dangerous and specializes in distance attacks." I grit my teeth and face Kagura. "It seems Naraku wants to to kill those I care about as I am aware of it. He released me for the moment to do so and he'll probably have control of my body soon with the damage my body has taken over the past two days." I try to ignore the pain in my shoulder and stand up straight.
"Hisoka! What are you talking about?!" Koga shouts and I sigh in aggravation.
I grit my teeth and close my eyes. The memories return once again and my knees feel weak from remembering everything I have done. "I am under the demon, Naraku's, control. He took over my younger brother and I's minds and bodies to kill our comrades and father. Now he has control of our bodies and minds at all times. We have done many horrible things." There is no answer from him and I can assume that he is in either shock from receiving that information on the battlefield of of his murdered comrades, or he is unspeaking to me after that.
My gaze hardens towards Kagura, and I race to her, "But now I'm going to kill you, Kagura!"
"Oh please. In a moment you'll be killing your dear younger sister and her friends!" She laughs cruelly and a pulse runs through my entire body.
I slowly turn back around to Koga, Sango, and her friends. A horrorstruck expression is on my face when I charge for the closest one, Kagome.
My arms raise my katakana blades towards her. She stays frozen in fear as I get nearer and nearer towards her. I fight with all my might to force myself to stop but it's no use. I'm just about to cut open her face that is filled with terror before another blade blocks my two and the force throws me multiple feet away.
Sango faces me with her sword in her right hand and her hirikotsu in the other. "Sango, do it. I want you to knock me out right now. Do not give him the satisfaction of me killing you while I'm still in my own mind." My voice is shaking in fear, and her face breaks out into one of a great deal of emotional pain.
"Anue-jue….." She trails off with her voice shaking as well and lowers her boomerang to the ground.
"DO IT!" I yell at her forcefully. My legs move by themselves to run and attack. "WE HAVE TO STOP LETTING HIM WIN! IF I KILL YOU, I WILL DIE INSIDE! I COULD NEVER GET OVER SOMETHING LIKE THAT EMOTIONALLY AND BE ABLE TO GO ON! KOHAKU WILL BE LEFT ALONE TO SUFFER BY HIMSELF IF YOU LET ME CONTINUE ON LIKE THIS!" I scream with hot tears streaming down my face.
Those tears are not for my own death, but for the fate Kohaku will have if he ends up alone. "AS THE ELDEST AND NOW LEADER OF OUR VILLAGE, I ORDER YOU TO DEFEAT ME!" I scream with tears threatening to leek out of my eyes while I attack her relentlessly my katakanas.
Sango dodges me each time but never strikes me herself. "How do expect me to do that?!" She cries in agony with tears dripping down her own face. "I can't hurt or kill you!" She sobs and I just want to break into a million pieces at her agonized tone.
"Stop crying and finish her off!" Kagura yells at me from her own battle with Koga. "Or I will kill both of you at once!"
I push with all my might and fight off the hold Naraku has on me just for only maybe a precious moment and hurtle myself at Kagura in the middle of her fight. "NO YOU WILL NOT!" I scream in fury and catch her by surprise and cut her side open in a deep wound. She hisses out in pain and sends her wind tornadoes at me. But before they can hit, I'm picked up by strong arms and taken across the courtyard.
"Don't throw away your life so carelessly, Hisoka." Koga growls down at me and I fully glare back at him.
"I don't have to listen to you. And you have no idea what is going on." I growl back memincinely and shove myself out of his arms.
I gasp as another pulse goes through me and I curse. I face off Koga, who doesn't look very happy. "Better get out of here before you're seriously inured again, Koga. Also, that is a fake jewel shard in your arm, you idiot." He dodges a slice to his legs and ends up fifteen feet away from me.
"I'm not going anywhere. I'm saying here and freeing you from this demon." He looks so determined to stay with me that I almost believe him, but that's a very big almost. "And it is not a fake, this one gives me even more power than that last one that the dead mutt stole from me." Koga smirks for a moment then evenly stares me down. "So, this Naraku guy controls your body? I'll just fix that by taking the skin shard out of your neck!" He lunges for me and behind us, Sango let's out a yell of surprise.
"No! The jewel shard in her neck is the only thing that keeps her alive, Koga!" Kagome shouts desperately, but Koga is almost upon me. My body does not move, and I would not bother either anyway because I do not care if I die or not.
Koga's expression turns fearful as he realizes he cannot stop himself from creating the blow that will end my life right here, right now.
Suddenly, I'm pulled out of the way by the back of my demon slayer's outfit being tugged by a pair of sharp fangs. Kirara drops me on my feet a few yards away from the crater that would've been me had she not have grabbed me in time.
I smile fondly up at her and pet her head, "Always the affectionate and trusting partner." I say softly and Kirara happily leans into my tender stroke.
After a few seconds of mild peace, my left hand that is not stroking Kirara twitches and I narrow my eyes, "Kirara, go back to Sango!" She detects the urgency in my tone and quickly jumps up in the air and flies away just as my blades swipe the air where she was just standing before me.
I whip around and race for Koga again, "Koga, take my katakanas from me and put them somewhere I cannot get them!" I shout.
"You sure?" He dodges a swipe to his legs with my left katakana.
"Yes! Hurry up and-"
'Blood, the only I am seeing nowadays.' I think this as Kagura's wind blades cut through the two of us and our blood mixes in the air.
A bitter smile is on my face as I collapse onto the ground in a gory heap. 'Maybe this is how I will die, but the hands on the incarnation of the demon who has made me commit so many sins.'
My eyes close as I listen to Sango scream and a loud growling that can only be Inuyasha's building up.
Please keep reading and review!
