"What are we doing here?" Ren asked, now at Havenfield with everyone else, including who she assumed was Grady and Edaline. She looked away from the wooden floors that were now cracked.

"We are going to try and trigger your memories," Mr. Forkle said.

"How does that work?"

"Ms. Foster, I'll let you take this, since you're going to be doing it,"

"Okay, so you know you're missing a lot of memories. Those memories were erased by a telepathic washer. To regain these memories, there is a trigger that pulls them all back. It's usually a word, or a voice, or an object. We're going to try to find that trigger today," Sophie explained.

"So, today all of you are going to say, mimic, or show me random stuff in an attempt to regain my memories?" Ren concluded.

"Basically, yeah," Keefe confirmed.

"Don't try to pull off an attack, new girl. I'm a mesmer," Grady warned, arms crossed.

"Uh, do I know you?" Ren asked.

"You attacked my daughter and her friends!"

"Grady, please," Sophie groaned. "She doesn't remember that. She wasn't herself. Ren was mind controlled,"

"Still. I'm keeping a close eye on you, closer than Keefe," his eyes narrowed.

"Wow, the love is in the air," Keefe muttered.

"So… let's start, I guess," Ren said.

"Moonlark," Sophie said.

"Is something supposed to be happening?" Ren questioned.

"If nothing is happening, then obviously it didn't work," Biana snapped.

"Geez, ok, Biana," Ren raised her hands defensively.

"Suldreen," Sophie said.

"Gethen," Dex added.

Everyone stared at Dex.

"Really? You think Gethen is the trigger?" Fitz dubiously raised a brow.

"What? Who knows?" Dex raised his hands defensively.

"Hey, they could have guessed that we thought it would be too simple, and ruled it out," Biana suggested.

"True," Tam agreed, and for the slightest moment, Biana blushed.

"How about I impersonate my mom?" Keefe suggested.

"Good idea, but can Ren handle it?" Mr. Forkle said.

"I can," Ren swallowed.

"Ren," Keefe said in Gisela's voice.

Ren took a deep breath.

"Nope, but keep trying that," Ren said.

"Um, moonlark. Suldreen. Gethen. Alvar. Gisela. Legacy. Ruy. Um, what else?" Keefe asked.

"Hold on, I'll transmit my list," Sophie said.

"Ok, got the list. Project moonlark. Project suldreen. Lodestar. Everblaze. Nightfall. Vespera. Elementine. Night. Tam. Linh. Mission. Shadow. Kill. Assassinate. Exterminate," He looked at Sophie. "Really? Exterminate?"

Sophie shrugged.

"Song. Black Swan. Neverseen. Ravagog. Panakes. Weak," he said the last one, and Ren looked like she was going to throw up.

"Who put in weak? Weak wasn't on Sophie's list!" Keefe accused, forgetting to switch out of Gisela's voice. Ren paled even more, closing her eyes and clutching her head.

"Why? Is weak the trigger?" Keefe asked, still in Gisela's voice. "Do you need me to say it again?"

"WHAT I NEED FOR YOU TO DO IS TO SHUT UP!" Ren screamed, standing up abruptly from her chair, and an incredibly strong gust of wind suddenly blew away from her, into everyone else. The chandelier started falling.

"EVERYONE WATCH OUT!" Sophie screamed and thrusted her hands towards the chandelier. It halted in place, and Sophie gently let it down.

"This girl is not safe!" Sandor grunted.

"She has no control over her powers! She might have even done that on purpose!" Grizel joined.

"We need to get her restrictions, as soon as possible," Sandor growled.

All eyes turned to Ren.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that!" Ren panicked.

"We know how traumatizing this is, Ren. We understand if you are unstable," Mr. Forkle tried to calm her.

"She nearly killed everyone! Twice!" Biana yelled.

"No, no. Do NOT blame this on Ren. This is totally my fault. I shouldn't have said the last word," Keefe defended, stepping between Ren and everyone else.

"For once, I agree with Keefe," Tam joined.

"I do, too. She's been through a lot," Linh added.

"Haven't we all?" Grady shouted, and Edaline put her hand on his shoulder as if to support him.

"We understand she's been through tough times, but we just need to get her stable," Edaline agreed.

"I need some fresh air," Ren said, and turned to face the door.

"Not until you get your powers under control!" Grady hollered, and Ren halted.

"Grady! Don't mesmerize her!" Sophie shouted.

"No, no, no. I'm not mesmerized," Ren slowly turned around, facing Grady. Grady seemed to be straining, beads of sweat already forming.

"Please don't try to mesmerize me again. Two years of it is enough," And she turned on her heels and fast-walked away.

"I need to go talk to her," Tam said.

"Tam, she's unstable. She might hurt you. Don't go," She pleaded.

He gave her a look.

"If I'm not going to talk to her, who will?" he tugged his arm out of Biana's grip and walked out of Havenfield.
