Stage 3: Falling into Gravity
Seconds later, a bright silver portal opens up under the statue of a poop-shoveling village idiot. Mere moments after that, the portal gains a dark purple tint, before ejecting a purple, dog-like creature covered in golden armor with a white orb over its head. The beast quickly looks around, before running away from the portal.
Then, the portal glows a mixture of pink and light blue, before ejecting Star and Marco. The two hit the ground so hard, that they cause a small plume of dust to rise from their feet.
"Where are we?" Marco says as he raises his fists and looks around their landing spot. Star raises her wand and scans the other side in reply, "Don't know, but it looks like we're in a town this time."
"Great! More places for the hound to hide in." Marco gripes as he turns to Star, "Star, can you track the hound, or at least the color orb?"
Star nods as she lowers her wand and pulls out the dark piece of parchment that is the star chart, "The hound's still on the move!" She points to a street just across the square, "It's that way, and moving fast!"
In a split second the duo are back to chasing the beast through the winding roads of the town, "Where is this thing leading us?" Marco glances at the activate map, before thinking, "Let's see if we can cut it off somehow." Then his eyes move over to a path directly in the path of the hound, "Star! I have an idea!"
"What is it Marco?" Star says as she deactivates the star chart. "No time to explain! Just come on!" Marco grabs Star's arm, before pulling her down an obscure ally.
And when the duo emerges from their shortcut, the hound is within view and running towards them.
"Gotcha! Alsahm's Arrow!" Star yells as she raises her wand, and fires a barrage of green arrows at the dog. Yet, the hound reacts quickly and bullets down a nearby alley.
"Come on Star! We can't lose it!" Marco chases the creature down the alley, followed by Star.
And they find the creature a few seconds later, clawing at the wall that stood between him and escape.
"There's no where to run, now give us the orb!" Star aims her wand at the hound as menacingly as a girl dressed up as a princess with a pink wand possibly could, "I don't wanna have to-"
*Growl* the hound quickly turns around and aims the orb at us, before snarling so loud, that it causes the nearby alley windows to shatter, forcing Star and Marco to cover their ears.
Then the creature turns back to the wall, and growls. As if by command, the white orb starts to glow brighter, and brighter until the entire alley is lit in its blinding light.
And when it does down, the duo opens their eyes and takes their hands off their ears, before getting up and dusting themselves off.
The hound is gone, and in its place is a human-sized hamster ball sized hole in the wall. "Dangit! Star, where'd the hound go?" Marco turns to Star.
Star responds by nodding and activating her star chart, "That's weird."
"What?"
"The chart says that the white orb is gone." Star deactivates the chart, "Whatever the hound did messed with our map."
Marco softens his expression, before sighing, "Ok then, we have to keep searching for now."
Star nods in response, "Ok, let's..."
*Hissss*
"What was that?!" Marco fearfully yells as he frantically looks around the alley.
*Hisssssssssss*
"I don't know." Star jumps in surprise. Then, they come.
Without warning, hundreds of purple, lizard-like creatures jump off the roofs of the adjacent buildings and ambush the duo.
Star reacts quickly by raising her wand and crying out, "Light for-" but before she could finish casting her spell, one the creatures jumps on her head and covers her mouth with its dark hands.
"Star! I'll save you!" Yet one of grabs his leg, causing him to fall on his face. Star struggles, but manages to pull the shaddoll's hands off her mouth long enough to yell, "Narwhal Blast!"
Then she turns her attention and Marco, "Narwhal Blast!" And with that, the shaddolls holding Marco were sent flying out of the alley, "Thanks Star."
"Thank me later, come on! We have to get out of here!" She grabs Marco's arm and tries to run out of the alley, but are pushed back by hundreds of shaddolls surrounding the alley.
"We're trapped!" Marco cries out as he grabs Star hand. And together they slowly step back till their backed up to a wall, "How will we get out of this? They just keep coming!"
Then, as if on cue, a red convertible stops right outside the alley, and an old man and illuminati triangle step out.
"May the fires of the infernoids engulf these creatures!" The triangle said as he conjures blue orbs of fire in his hands, "Die!" He screams as he fires the orbs, consuming the shaddolls in fire. Yet, the shaddolls emerge from the fire unscathed.
"Damnit Bill." The old man pulls out a white, Cannon-like weapon with a blue nozzle, "You can't kill these things with fire, remember?" Then he aims at the shaddolls attacking the kids, and screams, "Now face the cold of the inter-dimension!" Before unleashing a flurry of ice and snow, freezing all of the shaddolls in place.
"Now kids, come with us if you want to live!" The illuminati triangle screams in a deep, German accent.
The two look at each other for a moment, before nodding and running, and jumping in the car without hesitation.
"Drive Stan, drive!" The man yells at the driver as he hops in the passenger seat. The drive floors the pedal, causing the old car to go down the road faster than any thirty-year-old car is meant to go.
"Close call you two, we're lucky we got to you in time." The old man turns in his chair, "I'm Stanly Pines, the driver is my brother Stanford and the twins you're sitting next to are Dipper and Mabel."
"I'm princess Star Butterfly, and this my friend Marco Diaz." Star responds with an official tone.
"No need for formality, we were lucky we found you in time." The Stanly turns back in his seat, "After all, since these creatures arrived Gravity Falls has been deserted, we haven't been able to find anyone."
"Yeah, that's why they had to call me in! To help find survivors!" The triangle gloats as he spins around above Marco.
"So that's why you're out here? Isn't it too dangerous." Marco says with a shudder in his voice.
"Course it's dangerous, but we needed supplies so we had to go. Now why are you here, this place is no place for a princess and her… I'm tempted to call you a guard, but you doesn't seem like one." Stan slams on the gas, causing the speeding vehicle to break four more speed laws.
Marco glances at Star, who nods in reply. "We're looking for the things that can stop the creatures err shaddolls."
"So that's what they're called huh? Shaddolls, ok. So what can defeat them. Dipper here tried to use some weird magical artifacts to take them down, but nothing happened."
Star turns to the boy and looks at him with a slightly curious expression. Dipper rubs the back of his head in embarrassment, "Yeah, I had this angelic scepter that was supposed to be able to completely destroy dark things, but I couldn't get it to work. So Mabel and I got attacked and we lost it somewhere."
Mabel chuckles before playfully punching her twin, "That was the one that almost worked, why don't you tell them about the other tries. Boop."
Dipper replies by death glaring his sister.
"Kids, we don't have time for joking. We have to defeat these… Shaddolls. So princess, how do we take these annoying buggers down?" Stan says as he makes a hard right turn down a dirt road.
Star responds by going into her Star-shaped purse with a smiley face, and pulling our the orange and blue orbs, "We're collecting these color orbs. With them we'll be able to force the shadows back and reseal them."
"Color orbs huh? Why does that sound familiar?" Bill rubs what would be his chin as Stan turns the wheel as hard as he possibly can to make a hard left turn.
"Didn't we use a black orb to power the universe portal?" Stanley says as he rubs his chin, "Star, is there a black color orb?"
She shrugs, before taking out her star chart and activating it, "My Star chart doesn't say there's a black orb, but I does mention that two orbs exist in this dimension. So it wouldn't hurt to see. This thing has been acting wonky after the ambush."
Stanley turns and looks at the chart, "Does that thing say where the orbs are? We'd love to help in any way we can."
"The chart says that the closest orb is under a nearby structure, while all I have is static on the white orb" Star slaps the chart like a broken toy, "What the heck is wrong with this thing?"
"Must be the interference from the shack, it's minor but just enough to scramble weak electronics and magic." Stan says as he makes one more turn, before slamming on the brakes as hard as he could.
Then, when the covetable death machine grinds to a halt, he quickly pulls the keys from the ignition, and gets out of the car.
"Where are we?" Marco whispers as he steps out of the vehicle.
"Welcome to the Mystery Shack!" Stan throws his arms in the air as he introduces the decrepit shack that was his home, "Now then, let's find that orb."
"The chart says it's in the basement, where's the entrance?" Star says as she turns the cart off and walks over to Stan.
The old man motions for the group to follow him, and so they comply, "A few days after I finished the portal and pulled Stanley from it, the portal started up again. But instead of the light blue and rainbows that came from Stanley's arrival, this time the destroyed portal spit out a black mist and hundreds of these things."
"So let me guess, while you managed to seal off the basement and defeat any of shaddolls still in your home, you couldn't remove the shaddolls that were still there, and the portal is still open." Marco opens the door for Star, before following her inside.
They are followed by twins, Stanley, and Bill.
"You're completely right Marco, so if you and the princess want to get your hands on the orb, you're gonna have to fight your way to it." Stan leads the group over to the vending machine, before typing in the access code and moving the old machine out of the way. "
Star activates the star chart one more time, "Yep, the next orb is definitely down there, ready Marco?"
The karate kingpin nods in reply.
"Nah-uh, you're not going down there... Without us." Dipper says as he grabs a nearby baseball bat.
"Yeah, you're gonna need some backup down there." Mabel pulls her grappling hook out of her sweater. "And you'll need some of my help too right?" Bill asks as he conjures up two orbs of fire in his hands
The twins turn to the two old men.
"Go ahead kids and Bill, you're staying up here with us. No doubt once the shaddolls down there are released, many more will be coming through the gate. We'll stay up here and make sure that no shaddoll can get in or mess with your mission. Good luck kids." Stanley said as Stanford hugged the twins.
And with that, the four kids travelled down into the depths of the Mystery Shack.
The lab is the same mess it was when Stanley entered through the portal, only this time there is a horde of shaddolls guarding the Universe Portal.
*ding* the elevator goes as the iron doors slowly open and reveal the scene.
The shaddolls have completely destroyed the lab except for the generator under the portal. What remains of the lab is scattered across the underground cavern.
And through the destroyed lab, Dipper spots the orb resting on top of the generator, "There t is guys!"
"Ready guys, it looks like we're gonna have to fight our way to the orb." Star says as she raises her wand. Then she looks back at the three sitting behind her.
They respond by nodding.
"Cosmic thunder blast!" Star screams and in an instant, the wand obliterates the Shaddolls in front of them.
They kids quickly get to work dealing with the shaddolls, and manage to force them back through the active portal, before grabbing the black orb and returning topside.
And when they get out of Stan's bunker, Bill ambushes them and steals the black orb, "Ha ha ha thanks for the power orb kids, now I will have my revenge on you!" he screams as he absorbs the orb into his pyramid body, causing him to mutate into a massive version of himself.
Stan and Stanley were knocked out on the floor in front of vending machine, and now, Bill floated above them terrifyingly and tauntingly.
"This can't possibly get any worse." Mabel says as she stands in awe of the now-massive illuminati triangle.
And not a moment too soon either, because right after she says that, Gideon in his new Gideon Bot rips the roof of the mystery shack clean off, and grabs her.
"What are we going to do now?!" Star screams as the three kids stand in shock of the scene that was unfolding before them.
