This is WAY long overdue, there's no excuse for it, blame me as much as you want for being lazy.

Chapter 4

Dani's POV:

At the brink of unconsciousness, I heard someone walking towards me. The footsteps became closer and before I knew it, they found me.

I heard the person say, "Danielle?!". And I knew that voice anywhere.

'Danny?'. I tried to opened my eyes, but my exhaustion and hunger wouldn't let me.

"Danny?" I whispered.

"W-What are you doing out here?", asked Danny as he carefully lifted me from my position against the wall.

I hesitated to admit that I needed help, when I decided to tell him.

"I...need...help", I softly said.

My eyes slightly opened enough for me to look up at his expression, he was definitely worried.

"You will tell me after you get some rest", he stated as he flew invisibly with me in his arms.

A warm feeling filled my stomach with happiness to know that someone cares about me.

"It's just that...", I couldn't stay awake any longer, my body was too tired and exhausted.

Danny then shook me a little, "Are you okay? Dani?".

"I'm...tired", I managed to say before I blacked out.

'Daddy, please help me'.

Danny's POV:

'I'm here Dani, don't worry'.

I didn't panic much when she fell limp in my arms, I can't blame her after all she must've been through to get here, I wasn't very worried either as she needs her rest. As we neared my house, there was something wet in my hand, when I checked what it was, my eyes widened at the discovery. I grew very anxious, my stomach turned upside down. 'Blood', I thought.

There was blood dripping down her abdomen it seemed to be a large gash. Dani might've tried to stop the bleeding long enough to get here from the bandages, but the bleeding is too much.

I didn't know what else to do. We landed in my house, I phased through the ceiling, into my room, and directly went into my lair.

'Mom and Dad aren't home for another three weeks, so that's enough time to cure her, if it worsens I'll have to get her to Frostbite'.

Inside my lair, I laid Dani on the couch as gently as I could. I searched for the first aid kit in the bathroom, almost knocking everything in the mirror cabinet trying to get the first aid kit quickly.

After about a minute of knocking everything to get the kit, I ran back towards where I placed Dani. I knelt down to examine her injury, I lifted up her shirt enough so I could work. When I lifted up the shirt, I held my breath in an attempt to calm my anxiety, my eyes widened as I felt my knees go numb and I froze at the sight.

'This is a whole lot worse than what I thought'.

Dani's injury had a large gash in her abdomen, just below the ribs, it seemed kinda deep as if she was stabbed, there was purple and blue surrounding the edges, it seemed to be expanding, but it doesn't end there. Because she's half-ghost, the cut had ectoplasm and blood mixed in it, somehow it seemed that there was more ectoplasm than blood. 'What's going on with her body?'

I tried to clean up the blood with a wet cloth, but I couldn't really do much because the blood gushed out even more and Dani was wincing almost every time I touched the gash, so I just wrapped it with a gauze and bandages as best as I could and hoped that it would last a little while enough to take her to Frostbite's to see if he can cure her.

I went towards my room to sleep for a while, but not before I called Sam to reassure her and Tucker that I'm fine and to explain what happened. I left Dani on the couch with a blanket to rest, she'll need it.

Dani's POV:

When I opened my eyes, I was drowsy, tired and weak. I noticed that the pain was now just a small sting, I had fresh bandages and a properly treated wound, the never ending blood gushing wound has been reduced to a small tint of red on the bandages.

'What did cause my injury? But first, where am I?', I thought as I took in my surroundings.

There was some noise coming from what I assumed to be the kitchen.

'I'm not alone, then who's in the kitchen?', I immediately became alert.

I couldn't move from the couch, my body was too weak, the blood loss from my injury really did take its toll on me.

Footsteps came closer from the kitchen, I tensed and prepared to get up and fight whoever was there, even if it worsened my condition. "Who's there?", I managed to call out, my throat was dry and my voice raspy.

The door opened, surprise came upon me to see the person who was there.

"In my lair", he softly answered me.

I sat up on the couch, "Danny, what happened to me back at the alley?".

"I'm not sure Dani, I'm gonna have to take you to Frostbite's place and see what's going on. However, your condition has been better than when I first found you, but not by much, I was able to stabilize it for now, so we are just going there to make sure it isn't anything worse", he said.

There was a moment of silence while Danny seemed to think about something, he looked up as if he just realized something. Meanwhile, my thoughts got mixed up as I tried to sort them out, my vision became fuzzy.

"You know Dani, it's like that time when Vlad tried to dissolve you," he said. My hand clenched at the memory, 'Why bring that up?'.

Then I faintly realized what he meant to say. It was seconds before he voiced my thoughts.

"It seems like... you're unstable again."

That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out again.
