I'm so sorry this update is coming a lot later than I had promised. I had to re-watch the anime and read the mangas again. It was hard to get back into a world that I hadn't really been in for a while. This chapter is a lot shorter than I had intended, but necessary for me to get back to writing these characters. I do hope you enjoy. Thank you again for being patient and sticking around with me.

Ch.4 Taped Confessions

The blinding glare bounced off the camera as Kyoya raised his head and pushed his glasses up, "Mark my words, Hikaru will not get away with what he did."

Renge pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance, "For the last time Kyoya, I need a reaction other than revenge. Your team just lost the first competition. You missed a chance at a one-on-one date with Haruhi. HOW does that make you FEEL!"

"Annoyed."

"I think that's all we can hope for from Kyoya, let's go talk to Kaoru." Renge directed the camera crew in the direction of the slightly sullen twin.

"If I'm being completely honest, I hate losing. Okay maybe that isn't much of a revelation. I like to always be a few steps ahead of the competition, and losing today was completely unacceptable. Regardless of what anyone thinks, I am here for Haruhi and Haruhi only. I'm only admitting this because no one will see this until after I've won her heart. There is no doubt that I will be the last one standing." Kyoya got up and left the small closet where they set up a "private" confessional. It was 1 in the morning and everyone was asleep. It was really they only way he could do the required confessions. He wasn't someone who liked to show any weakness, especially in a competition. Haruhi, she was definitely a weakness.

"Of course I'm happy for him. He's my twin. It doesn't mean that I didn't want to win just as bad. Maybe even more than Hikaru. He's still a bit clueless, you know?"

Renge eyes twinkled with mischief, and he realized his mistake instantly.

"So Kaoru, do you think you deserve to be here more than Hikaru?" Renge couldn't wait to stir up some drama. It was a competition after all!

"That's not what I meant," Kaoru exhaled "Hikaru just isn't always fully aware."

"I think I got all I need. Thank you Kaoru!" Renge skipped away happily toward the winning twin.

"He said what!" Shoving the camera out of his face, Hikaru stormed up to his twin who was speaking to Tamaki.

"I should probably be more careful of what I say in front of Renge. I forgot how devious she can be. I really hope Hikaru isn't too mad at me. I know we're rivals, but I don't want anything to come between us. Still, this is the one time I won't be sharing. All bets are off." Kaoru sighed, he knew he was going to have to set his twin's feelings aside to be able to pursue Haruhi. He really hoped it wouldn't end badly.

Hikaru pushed himself off the wall he was leaning, "It's about time you're done with your self-reflecting."

"How long are you going to be mad? I told you Renge just twisted my words around." Kaoru was really annoyed with trying to explain himself yet again.

Hikaru didn't bother answering, choosing to walk past his brother into the closet sized room.

"I know everyone thinks I'm loud, unaware, and inconsiderate at times. It's not completely untrue. I don't have a filter, and I don't think before I speak. I am completely aware of my feelings dammit! I love Haruhi."

"Don't underestimate me. I don't need to cast a curse, read tarot cards or palms to know that I have a chance to win Haruhi's heart. I am the one she meets with on a slightly regular basis. A crystal ball isn't needed to see that there is a mutual attraction between us. I just hope that my efforts won't go unnoticed. I plan on breaking out of my shell and showing her that for her I can let my walls down." Umehito dropped the hood to his cloak and took off his wig. Little by little he was going to prove that he is worthy of Haruhi.

"This is a strange. I guess I'm supposed to talk about my feelings? The truth is I fell for Haruhi almost instantly. I was confused; I mean I thought she was a guy at first. I never had feelings for a guy, but I couldn't shake the feelings. When I found out she was a girl, I was relieved. Either way, my feelings never changed. She saw something in me. She never judged me. It was because of her that my world started changing. I have no idea whether she'll choose me; I don't even know if I stand a chance. What I do know is that I will fight for the girl who restored my faith in the world." Ritsu may have looked intimidating at the moment, but the determination on his face was more than evident.

"While I'm upset that Mitsukuni is gone, it'll be easier to focus my attention on Haruhi from now on. We have never been separated; this is a new experience for me. Love is important, but so is my commitment to the Haninozuka family. I'll find a balance." Never a man of many words, Mori was short and to the point.

With a flourish that only Tamaki could provide he ranted out a long monologue; most of which will later be edited for television sake. "Haruhi, my heart has always been yours. I have disguised my feelings a million different times. I may have denied the depth of them, but there has never been any doubt in my mind that it has always been you."

"I'm not a selfish person. All I want is for Haruhi to be happy. I never thought I would make it very far in the competition. I know that every single person there loves her. She is important to all of us. Without her love, compassion and understanding we may all have different lives. She gave us strength. I will forever love her for that." Hunny smiled sadly at the camera as he prepared to leave.

"Mother in heaven, what have I gotten myself into?" She reached forward and turned off the camera. Haruhi never felt so confused in her life. This wasn't exactly her area of expertise.

This wasn't the most traditional path to finding love, but she has never really led a traditional life.

Ok so just to clarify, Haruhi was not watching the guys tapes. She was recording her own confession. My husband pointed out that there might be some confusion. Thanks for reading and leave a review por favor!
