Sapphire, Link and Zelda continued to just stand there. The room fell completely silent for a moment, as Sapphire took a step forward.

"H-how do you know my name?!"
The king ran down the paths that led down from the platform his throne was on. He stood in front of Sapphire, looking down at her with a slight look of disbelief on his face.

"I…I thought you were dead."
Sapphire just stared at him, she didn't know what to think. How could he have known her? She'd never met a Zora in her life. At least, she never remembered meeting one…

The king slowly got close to her, and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her. Sapphire looked at Link and Zelda who were just watching, still with a baffled look on their face.

After the embrace, Sapphire looked up at the king, who had a smile on his face.
"I…I'm sorry…I don't understand." Said Sapphire.

"What is your mother's name?"

Sapphire looked down sadly, and said "Well, I don't have a mother anymore." The king got sort of an excited look on his face, which of course seemed rather unfitting. But he had a good reason for this.

"I'm sorry…I know how you feel."

Sapphire looked up at him again and said "Y-you do?"
He nodded "Yes. I lost someone dear to me too… And I don't mean to alarm you…But I think the person I lost might also be important to you too…"
Sapphire didn't have any idea what he meant.
"Wait…what?"
The king looked as if he was nervous to say what he had in mind.

"W-Was your mother's name… Diala?"

Sapphire fell to the floor. She didn't faint, but the shock of him saying her mother's name caused her to collapse to the ground. She sat there staring at the floor. Link and Zelda rushed over to her.

Link said "How do you know her mother's name?!"
Zelda continued "Did you know her mother!?"
The king chuckled. "I guess you could say I knew her."
The trio looked up at him, hanging onto his words.

"She…She was my wife…And you…You were our precious daughter."

Tears began to stream down Sapphire's face as she stared at her father. Zelda and Link couldn't believe it. The King of the Zora's, who Link and Zelda had known all their lives was Sapphire's father this whole time. Sapphire got up, and ran to him.
She hugged him tightly, and he hugged her in return.
The king softly spoke
"I… I'm so sorry…All this time. I could have been there for you…But I just accepted you were gone…"
Sapphire replied "It's…its okay father… I've found you now. And that's all that matters…"

After their embrace, the king held on to Sapphire's shoulders and told her.

"Sapphire. I will tell you everything. I… It's a long story."
Sapphire nodded and said.
"Alright! Tell me everything!"
Zelda spoke up and said.
"Sapphire…I think he'd better know your situation first…about your step-father."
The king quickly stood up.
"Y-you're step-father? Y-You mean…Aren is still alive?"
Sapphire also stood up.

"You know my step-father too?"

The king nodded. "Sadly yes. I do… I figured everyone had died by now..."

Zelda said "This is getting more and more confusing…"
The king replied.

"Well… You see, your step-father drove me away from your mother while she was pregnant for you. He told me if I didn't leave, he would kill her and you…I… I didn't know what to do…So I told Diala I'd leave and make him think he'd won, then come back in a couple day's in the night after things had settled down…However, when I came back. Diala was gone.
Aren ambushed me and tried to kill me… In the midst of the brawl, he told me he killed her…along with you…angered beyond belief, I attacked him with everything I had…And barely escaped…"

Everyone was sitting and listening…
Sapphire was crying at this point, and there was a moment of silence. Zelda spoke up. "Wait…so were you guy's secret lovers?"
"Well that's the thing…There's no way Sapphire knows this… but Diala never wanted to be with Aren. It was an arranged marriage. Aren abused her, mostly verbally but he did hit her sometimes. We met at the lake. She would come to Lake Hylia to hide away from Aren…And one day, he caught on to us. He figured out where she was hiding when she would run away. And he caught her with me one night…At the point he caught her, we had been together for almost two months. She was pregnant for you at that point, and we we're planning to run away together…"

Sapphire, who had been staring at her father intently this whole time, rose up and said "…I…"
Sapphire looked as if she was about to explode with anger. Link grabbed onto her and said "Sapphire, what's wrong?"
Sapphire shook Link's hand off and began to pace, and speak harshly.
"I've spent my entire life being told my mother and real father died in some war… I've been told my mother was horrible. That she abandoned us… And not once, did I ever believe any of this. I've lived under the same roof as that murderer and liar. And…And now I….I don't know what to do!" Sapphire fell to the ground screaming and crying. Link and Zelda were about to run to her, when suddenly the king ran past them and leaned down next to Sapphire, and embraced her.

"Sapphire. I can't ever express to you, how sorry I am…But now, we have each other…Please…Stay here with me. Forget about Aren… I'll protect you, I'll never let you go again."
Sapphire returned her father's embrace and hugged him tightly as she continued crying."
The king picked up Sapphire in his arms, and turned to Zelda and said "Princess. May I ask you to return to your home for the night?"
Zelda nodded and said "S-sure… b-but what do we do about Aren? He's going to find Sapphire missing in the morning… I have no Idea what he'll do. What if he comes here?"
"Then let him! I'll have my men on guard, there is nothing he can do now. He is powerless."
"But you don't understand! He's friends with my father, if he tells him that you stole his daughter, my father will surely believe him!"
"Well… Wouldn't he believe you before some friend of his?"
Zelda decided he was right. She would be the one to help end this.
"You're right… I hope… I'll go back right now and tell my father of Aren's evil ways. I feel as though your delayed reunion is partially my fault. So I will do everything in my power to help Sapphire keep her new found happiness!"

Sapphire had stopped crying and told Zelda
"It's not your fault Zelda…You had no idea it was this bad…"
Zelda began crying "I…I know Sapphire…But…If I had taken more interest, I surely would have seen through your step-father's horrid lies!"
Link held onto Zelda "It's no one's fault Zelda. We were all just doing what we thought was right… The only one at fault is Aren."
Everyone agreed with what Link said.

"Link is exactly right Zelda…"
Zelda dried her tears and smiled "Thank you Sapphire… Well, were going back now. We have a lot of business to attend to."
The king smiled "I am forever in your debt Princess."

Sapphire smiled and said "No. WE are forever in your debt."
And with a smile, Zelda and Link were off.
