Chapter Four

That's how things turned out. We were inseparable: me, Toby, and Masamune. We would play sports and card games. The club respected how close we all were, and I had a sense that Masamune knew that Toby and I had a brotherly bond. That's how deceptive I wanted things to be because Toby is mine.

At first, I thought that Masamune was going to get in the way of our relationship. That didn't turn out to be the case at first. Masamune seemed to be interested in playing sports. He also made sure that things were equal between the three of us. It lasted until one day we were out playing Frisbee. Toby collapsed and had a bad seizure.

We rushed Toby to the hospital straight after that. He stayed there for a couple days because the DR ran some tests. The test results came out that Toby caught an untreatable virus. Masamune and I stayed as often as we could since Toby was in and out of the hospital ever since.

It wasn't long before Masamune started to talk to me about Toby and how concern he was for him. That's when I started to have speculation that something was going on between. I wanted so badly to talk to Toby, but I didn't want to stress Toby out more. I also wanted to talk to Masamune but I chose better of it because I told myself that taking care of Toby was the main objective.

Shortly after Toby's tenth stay at the hospital, the DR announced that Toby had to be hospitalized.That surprised all three of us. Masamune and I didn't expect Toby's health was rapidly declining. It scared me that I was going to lose my boyfriend. I also started to notice Masamune's behavior toward Toby started to change. I didn't think too much of it because I knew that Masamune wanted to support Toby. It wasn't until I came to visit Toby. I came in and saw Toby clutching Masamonue's hand. It was then my speculation was right. There was something deeper. They were sitting across from each other.

Toby was the first to turn his head to see his boyfriend standing there. Masamune turned too and grinned at Zeo. Zeo shook the feeling he had off, and sat behind Toby. Masamune smirked, scooted closer, and wrapped his arms Toby and Zeo.

"Group hug!" Masamune announced playfully.

Toby chuckled; he liked the warmth of them. It took a moment for Zeo to understand what Masamune was trying to do for Toby. Zeo smiled and wrapped his arms around Toby. They stayed like that until Masamune pulled away and stated that he needed to go.

After Masamune had left, Zeo let go of his boyfriend and sat across from him.

"Are you okay, Zeo," Toby asked. He kissed Zeo on the lips, "you gave Masamune a look..."

Zeo winced, and his heart clenched. He had no idea that when he walked in, his face almost betrayed how he is starting to feel. It was no wonder why Masamune acted the way he did.

Zeo sighed, kissed Toby before he placed his hands on his boyfriend's shoulders, and gently pushed him down. Zeo pulled the covers up and was about to move when Toby sat up and hugged his boyfriend.

"Please stay for a while..." Toby murmured. He rested his forehead on Zeo's chest. "I miss you, Zeo... I miss Masamune as well..." Toby grabbed a fist of Zeo's shirt and pulled the collar down so that Toby could feel Zeo's soft tinted skin, and smell his scent. "I just miss everything..."

Zeo closed his eyes, wrapped his arms around Toby, and buried his face in Toby's sandy straight hair. His hair has grown out a few inches. And Toby's original scent has faded over time. Now he smells like soap, medication, and disinfectant instead of his usual spicy and tangy scent. They stayed like that for a moment. The warmth and touch were something they both missed since Toby has been in the hospital.

When Masamune walked out, he shook off the feeling he got when Zeo entered the room. Masamune didn't understand why Zeo looked him with intensity. Masamune knew that he didn't do anything wrong. All he did was talk to Toby about his concerns about Toby's health - nothing more. Furthermore, Zeo just happened to walk in right when Toby placed a comforting hand Masumoune's hand. Toby wanted to reassure Masumonue despite how bad things are, there was hope.

Masamune sighed. How did things get so complicated? He knew how close Zeo and Toby are. That type of bond didn't bother Masamune because he felt that way toward both of them. Masamune wanted to talk to Zeo personally to see if he did something wrong. But after careful thinking, he decided that he was going to talk to Ginga and get some advice on how he was going to approach Zeo without Zeo getting the wrong idea. And maybe talk to Ginga's father for medical advice because Ginga's father was in the medical field.
