Hey guys, sorry I didn't update for so long. Chapter 2 took me months to get up. I have school competitions and piano tests coming up so I'm really busy. But I will try to update as often as possible. Oh, and as a side note, Transformers do have genders in this AU...yes... AU after Mission City.
But anyway, how do you like the story so far? Please review!
Chapter 3: My Last Moments
"No, this is my choice, my fight! All that matters is that you guys make it out of this alive! Now go!" I shouted, turning to face the oncoming Eradicons. Warhammer and Rift had no choice but to drag a wailing Borderline through the closed gates of the shipyard. The sobs faded as the last of the Autobots boarded the Ark and the engines fired up, the intensity sending a tactile shockwave through the air.
Megatron, obviously realizing that the ship was going to take off and he will have failed his mission to keep the ship from taking off, let out a roar of pure rage. Without warning, he suddenly fired off a series of screeching missiles towards the ship's most vulnerable part, where the hull met the thrusters. If these lethal projectile hit their target, it could start of a chain of explosions that will incinerate the ship and everything inside it.
"NO!" I shouted. Without thinking twice, I have activated some hidden programs I stowed away for last resort. My servos transformed into shock absorbers, and the whole ship got encased in an aegis of pure energon. The missiles exploded harmlessly off the surface. Though the ship was safe for now, I've now gotten Megatron's attention. His helm whipped towards mine and got chill ran down my back plating as his blazing red eyes burned into my azure ones.
"Well, who do we have here? A forsaken Autobot who his team mates have left behind so he could defend the ship. How pathetic." Fake sympathy was practically glued all over Megatron's sneering face place. His glossa was curved into some sort of an evil smile. I gulped. Oh Primus, he's going to offline me for sure. But I stifled the fear and blared back with rebellious optics.
"You know I'll never let me touch that ship!" I snarled, exerting more energon into the shield, strengthening it. Despite my best efforts, it was draining my energy more and more. I won't be able to hold up the aegis much longer.
"Feisty, aren't we?" Megatron taunted me.
"It's nothing compared to your ugly helm."
"Try me, Autobot. I will rip you to shreds." The Deception warlord continued to mock me, only to drawl back a little when instead of a panicked look, I gave him a smug expression and let my optics trail to the scenery happening behind his frame.
The fact is, Megatron and his Eradicons have been focusing their attention on me, the lone, worthless, forsaken Autobot so much that it didn't register in their deaf audios that the Ark have lifted off. Megatron slowly turned his gaze to where my optics were focused on. He let out a bellow of murderous ferocity when he saw that the Ark was already flying past the smoke filled clouds of Iacon, skyrocketing towards the emptiness of space.
Meanwhile, I silently let out a sigh of relief. My mission was complete. My team mates got onto to the Ark online and the titanic ship was able to depart Cybertron with no Autobot casualties. Except me, of course.
It was then Megatron turned his helm once again towards my faceplates. This time though, he wasn't jeering at me anymore. The only emotion in those monster optics was the intent of extinguishing my spark.
"Not so cheerful now, are you?" I teased him, managing a smile.
"Filthy Autobot scum! You will pay for this you glitch head!" With the indirect order reverberating through the air, all the Eradicons instantly charged their weapons and aimed them at me. Megatron held a servo up and transformed it into a gleaming blade, and raised it to my, neck pressing it against my fragile energon cables.
This time, he smiled for real. "No one fire a single shot. This one's mine." A familiar chill freezed up my back plating, along with my energon turning into stone-cold ice that can only be found on the wandering planet of Charr.
As Megatron pressed his dangerous blade more and more into my neck cables, his malignant grin spread wider and wider. His fearsome aura was one full of malice and hostility. The Eradicons stood obediently behind him, their weapons in case of a retaliation attempt.
I grounded my metal dentas in frustration. Any possible escape route was now blocked by scores and scores of endless Megatronian minions. I knew that if I even so twitched a single cable, the identical henchmen would overtake me like a swarm of annoying insects (which they basically are), or Megatron would instantly submerge his blade into my delicate neck cables, killing me in flash. Grudgingly accepting my fate, it dawned to be that I was out of options now. I chose to stay behind in order to hold the Decepticons back, and this is price I had to pay now.
"So, not much to say now eh?" Megatron jeered at my helplessness as he continued to threaten me with the lethal sword.
I didn't answer back, as I was still using my every available scanner, trying to get away from the towering tyrant in front of me. To my worse misfortune, my scanners again showed that even the slimmest chance of escaping this Decepticon hellhole was next to impossible. I was running out of options, and time. If I don't find a way to escape Megatron's clutches soon, he's going to offline me right here, right now.
Scores of Eradicons were lining up on either side of the evil warlord, while I was pinned down by two more Eradicon guards who have managed to cuff my servos in Energon cuffs. At this rate, my odds of making breakaway are virtually nonexistant. But still, as long as my spark continues to support my frame, I will continue to defy the mech responsible for the destruction of my beloved home planet.
I can only try to control my panic as Megatron's blade sank deeper and deeper into my fragile neck cables. Fortunately, all my important cables was protected by a thick layer of titanium-alloyed shielding, and this was my only defense between the boundaries of escaping to the stars or going into the Well of Allsparks.
"You may have me pinned down, Megatron," I retorted back, trying to make and effort to make my vocoder sound more affirmed. "But as long as I am online, you are not to leave this planet."
The tyrant that loomed over me can only smile with fake sympathy down as my pitiful state," My soldiers, we need to teach this annoying little piece of filth how to respect his superiors."
I gave a rather loud snort at that statement," Oh, you can't possibly mean yourself do you?" The last words of my reply was laced with scorned and defiance.
This time, Megatron growled darkly at me as he pulled my facial place up to his blood red optics. "I think it's time for you to learn your place, Autobot scum. No one, ever, insults me." The sheer amount of dark aura radiating off this mech was becoming quite alarming."
Megatron raised a servo and beckoned an Eradicon forward, who like all the others, was just standing there erected, idly staring at our hostile exchange. He commanded him, "Make the Autobot learn who exactly is above him, and who is the lowly insect here." The last words were said in grim satisfaction.
Icy despair broke through the wall of my pride and amibitions, slowly seeping into and conquering my already rattled spark. Is it really just going end here, just like that? After all those eons of fighting, am I really going to be killed off by an emotionless, mindless, Decepticon drone, only with Megatron enjoying the entertainment like it was just one of those Kaonian gladiator fights? No, my conscience countered my doubts, pushing them further and further back. I chose to leave behind and distract Megatron so your comrades can escape to safety. If I hadn't stopped and turned rearward to the Ark and my fellow Autobots back there, the Ark would've been long destroyed already, with every bot in it readicated the swarming Decepticons. Slowly, courage and pride replaced despair and doubt once more. If this is the price I have to pay to ensure the safety of my comrades, then so be it. I mentally braced myself to what might be coming.
Suddenly, a flash of pain emanated from my lower back. Crying out in aguish, I can only struggle helplessly as the agony quickly spread over my whole frame. Irritation sensors erupted like a supernova as I felt something protrude into my back platings. Gasping, I barely managed to register the extent of the damage before a shockwave of pain spread through my system again. Screaming, I realized that pain was now coming from my super sensitive doorwings!
Through the cloud of pain and suffering, I managed to turn a helm a fraction of an inch, just enough to catch that same Eradicon that Megatron had summoned earlier, holding up a Energon rod. Megatron was electrocuting me! Megatron stared down at my torment with complete coldness in his optics. As if on cue, the Eradicon planted the Energon rod back down onto my side panels. The next joor was filled with me yelling out in misery while arcs of burning plasma and electric energy surged from the Energon rod that was repeatedly planted into my doorwings.
After what seemed like forever, Megatron finally raised as a signal for the Eradicon to stop the affliction of my frame. He took a moment to assess my physical damage. I also initiated a full diagnostic scan to see what exactly my side panels had to endure. The reults were simply horrifying. There was a gaping wound on both of my doorwings, in it which multiple energon lines were torn and opening leaking energon on the war-worn metal terrain. I screamed my vocoder sour trying to persist in the face of hell. The rest of my frame was no better: torn energon lines, damaged armor, sensor overloads. Overall, I was severely injured. It was a miracle that I was still online.
Megatron, who seemingly thought that I had experienced enough suffering to submit to defeat, sneered," It seems our Autobot has learned his place. Tell me, are you willing to surrender yourself to the Decepticons."
Though I was struggling to make a sound from my vocoder, I still spat onto his smug faceplates, "Never, you Bitchbot!" Instinctively, I tried one again to look for a crook or nanny for my breakaway. Trying to push through the ranks of Eradicons was out of the question, since there was an infinite number of them here... I assessed my rather uncompromising position with Megatron. I was at a serious disadvantage since I was on both knees, severely damaged, cuffed, and with no hope of medical care or reinforcements. Megatron, meanwhile was looming over me as he dodged my mouth fluids. The idea came to me abruptly. The escape route was open, right there all along, just waiting for me to use it! Mustering up strength and pushing away the excruciating pain, I finalized my plan.
As my mouth fluid sailed past Megatron, he clenched his teeth his seething fury. "It looks like the Autobot still hasn't learned his lesson. Tell me your name, Autobot. I will gladly display your helm as a trophy after I've taken the pleasure of extinguishing your spark." Taking the energon rod from the Eradicon's servos, he was just about to plunge it into my doorwings when I screamed," MY NAME IS BROADSIDE AND I FRAG YOU TO THE PIT, MEGATRON!" And with that, I hastily aimed a kick at Megatron's...er...procreation organs.
As a painful shriek of shock and bursting agony echoed through the air, I quickly did a painful transformation and barreled past the scores of stunned Eradicons. My alternate mode was racing down the Iacon Speedway before any of them realized what was even happening. But, I underestimated Megatron's resilience. He quickly recovered from that severe blow in his pubic area and ordered the Eradicons to give chase.
Soon, my scanners comfirmed that there were several hundred readings of Decepticon spark signatures zooming towards me. I had to swerve in multiple directions to avoid the beams of plasma and laser raining down at my sorry aft. If I don't get to the emergency ship yards soon, I will never make it out of Cybertron.
To my relief, I saw an escape pod looming just above the skyline. As I drew closer, I realized that it was the only remaining one in the shipyard. Other Autobots or Con's must've already taken the other ones. In a last ditch effort to make that escape pod my own, I gunned my engines, ignoring the warning signs flashing across my HUD. In a dramatic transformation, I leaped for the open door of the escape pod, which shut tight upon my presence inside, ignoring the rants and raves of Megatron, who apparently just realized that he let the last Autobot, who he could've potentially used as bait or a provider of invaluable intel, on Cybertron escape into the empty void of space.
As I felt the ship blast off the planet's surface, the injuries took the toll on my frame. My frame beared alot of bulk trying to support me as I made that quick breakaway, especially from the critical levels of energon loss. Darkness overtook my optics as I entered emergency stasis.
Soon, having been served it's purpose, the escape pod ejected my unconscious frame, already in it's protoform mode, to the mercy of the vast darkness of space.
Dust and earth got blown into the air as a gigantic metal pod crashed down from the sky. The strange alien metal pod traveled a few hundred miles before friction finally brought it to a halting stop. As the pod lay smoking, the metal unfurled and in it's place stood a humanoid figure, his cable sparking and the metal scratched, dented, and burned. The humanoid stumbled through the forest, as if trying to find something, stopping every now and then to nurse his injured peds and doorwings. Finally, after struggling several miles, he came upon a highway of vehicles zooming to and from. A series of lasers emitted from the humanoid's eyes, sweeping over a vehicle. Then, he collapsed into the exact replica of a car, and sped out of sight.
There you have it, the "prologue" is finally finished. It was way to much to just fit into one chapter. Next chapter... introducing William Lennox and the rest of the Earth team!. Just a heads up, planetary escape pods are only used to eject bots into the atmosphere, and nothing else.
Til next time!
