Chapter 4
There's a little diner across from Ziva's apartment, where Tony and Ziva decided to go and have their lunch date. When they walked into the diner, they were hit by cool air and the smell of food. The diner wasn't too busy, surprisingly, they found a table right at the back of the diner where they knew they would get some privacy.
After about a minute or so, a blonde waitress walked towards their table with two menus and a small note pad in hand. She placed the menus in front of Tony and Ziva, while she was doing that, she was trying to catch Tony's attention but failed miserably because he was only looking at the woman in front of him and Ziva was trying her best not to laugh at her failed attempt to get his attention.
"What drinks would you like to order?" The waitress asked while giving a flirty smile towards Tony and ignoring Ziva as if she's not visible.
Tony looked up as if he just realised that she was there, which made the waitress a little annoyed. He looked at the smile the waitress was giving him and he ignored it, he looked at the menu, "I would like to have a glass of beer." The waitress wrote and down, still not taking her eyes away from Tony.
"And I would like to have a glass of water with some ice." Ziva finally made her presence known to the waitress, who was still ignoring her.
She turned around to face Ziva for the first time and acted as if she knew Ziva was there. "I'm sorry, what did you say?" she said with a fake smile.
"I said, I would like to have a glass of water with some ice. Is that too much to ask?" She said, getting slightly annoyed with the waitress.
"Uh, no…" The waitress shook her head slowly, "I'll just go and get your drinks…and then I'll take your orders" As soon as she said that she rushed off.
"What are you staring at, Tony?" Ziva finally asked.
"You." Tony simply answered her quietly.
"Why?"
"Because you're beautiful," He took her hand, which was on the table, in his hands. "Because you're amazing…" He looked into her eyes, "Because you're…you. And many other reasons why I'm staring at you."
Ziva looked down at their hands on the table, "Well, in that case" She looked back up and saw him smiling at her and she couldn't help but smile back. "Thank you."
"It's the truth so you don't need to thank me." He picked up their joined hand and kissed it. "I just can't believe that I finally told you how I feel about you and it just feels really good to let out and not keep it inside me."
Just as Tony finished his sentence, the waitress came back with their drinks and took their orders and left, not before giving Tony another flirty smile.
They waited quietly, staring at each other while waiting for their food to arrive. They still couldn't believe that they have finally admitted their feelings for each other and now they were sitting opposite of each other for their first date.
"We need to talk about few things that happened in the past because I do not want to keep any secrets from you, Tony, especially if we are thinking about taking this relationship seriously." Ziva broke the silence first.
Tony nodded, "Sure, and just to let you know, Ziva, that I'm very serious about this relationship and I want this to work because I can't think about being with anyone else right now or ever."
Ziva smiled and looked down at their hands again. Tony took her free hand that was now placed on the table and gave it little squeeze and waited for her to look back up.
"I mean it, Ziva." He said once she looked up and into his eyes, where he knew she would find the truth.
"I know you do." She said quietly, seeing the truth reflecting in his eyes. "And I too would like this to work out because you mean a lot to me, Tony." She smiled at him again. "And I mean it." She repeated his word and saw him smile.
"So, what do wanna talk about?" Tony asked
"Well…" She paused and looked down, "Umm…about what happened in the past to us that we do not know about."
"Okay," He said, looking a bit confused. "Like what?"
Ziva tried avoiding Tony's eyes when she answers him, "Like…Somalia" She whispered, "Paris…Ray and EJ…and…Berlin."
Tony looked up, shocked to hear Ziva mention Somalia. He was shocked because he thought that she didn't want to talk about what happened there and they never asked her about her time in that camp.
"You…you want to talk about...Somalia?" He asked, making sure he heard her correctly. "You sure about this? You don't have to talk about if you're not comfortable, this whole conservation can wait." He told in a soft and tender voice. "I want you to be ready to talk about this and not because you think I need to know about what happened to you to there. We got time." He spoke quietly and slowly.
"I know," Ziva sighed. "But I want to tell you this and get it over with."
"Ok, if you're sure."
They both sat there in silence, waiting for their food to arrive. Neither knowing where to start their conversation. After 5 minutes, both of their food arrived and they ate it in silence, Tony kept looking up from his food to look at Ziva, every few seconds, and Ziva seemed lost while she played with her food rather than eating it.
"Ziva," Tony finally broke the silence, not being able to stay quiet as he grew worried about her. "Ziva," He got no response, so he reached across the table to hold her free hand, which got her attention. "Please eat something. And don't worry about talking about this at this moment, we can talk after we finish eating and go home."
"What did Paris mean to you, Tony?" Ziva asked, as if she didn't hear Tony's words.
"What do you mean?" He asked, getting a little confused about why she was asking him about Paris.
"I mean, did that night mean anything to you…in that hotel room…in that bed…where we nearly…" Ziva tried not to look at Tony.
"Where we nearly made love." Tony finished the sentence for her. "Is that what you mean?"
Ziva looked up to see Tony was staring at her, "Yes." She whispered, unable to form any other words.
"Did it mean anything to you, Ziva?" Tony asked her the same question.
After about a minute silence, she spoke, "Tony." She paused, looking everywhere but the person that's sitting right in front of her. "I…it meant..." She took a deep breath. "…it meant something to me, but I don't know what it was or is." She admitted.
I know it's short, but their conversation will continue into the next chapter and I don't know when the next chapter will be ready and updated (hopefully soon).
Please leave a review about what you think and if you want me to include in their conversations.
Thank you for reading! :)
