Finally, the next chapter!

I got the hardcover boxed set of Divergent, so I finally was able to use my own copy as a reference. Yipee!

This chapter I must admit is very similar to the book, but it's kinda hard for it not to be... whatever.

After all the initiates fall into the net, a dark-haired girl with three silver rings through her eyebrow and a boy with very deep-set dark blue eyes lead us down a narrow tunnel. The ceiling slopes down along with the stone walls, as if we are descending farther and farther underground. The tunnel is lit at long intervals, so I hold tight to Al's hand to avoid bumping into others during the dark spaces. He says nothing, but only squeezes it lightly, as if reassuring me that he is nervous as well.

Suddenly Al stops, and I stumble backward when his hand tugs mine. As my eyes adjust, I realize the whole crowd stopped and I would've ran into the boy in front of me if Al had not held me back. "sorry" he mutters in apology as I rebalance myself. I shrug.

"This is where we divide," The dark-haired girl says from the front. :The Dauntless-born initiates are with me. I assume you don't need a tour of the place."

She smirks and and leads them away into the shadows. When they are out of sight, I realize only ten of us remain. I am the only Amity transfer. The blonde girl is the only Abnegation, and the rest are easily Candor and Erudite. I feel less small without the Dauntless-born, and I drop Al's hand and wipe it on my dress. I didn't think I should tell Al he has the sweatiest hands I've ever held.

The blue-eyed young man starts to speak. "Most of the time I work in the control room, but for the next few weeks, I am your instructor. My name is Four."

The girl who jumped second asks, "Four? Like the number?"

The boy-Four- replies, "Yes. Is There a problem?"

"No."

He nods. "Good. We're about to go to the Pit, which you will eventually learn to love. It-"

The girl snickers. "The Pit? Clever name."

I inwardly sigh, thinking that her interrupting Four, who looked about twice her size and strength, wouldn't appreciate her honesty. I am right.

He walks up to her and looks her in the eyes. His eyes narrow, and he stares at her silently for a moment.

"What's your name?" he asks seriously, and I can almost hear the danger in his voice.

"Christina," she says nervously, finally realizing her fault.

"Well, Christina," He says, "If I wanted to put up with Candor smart-mouths, I would have joined their faction. The first lesson you will learn from me today is to keep your mouth shut. Got that?"

She nodded.

Four turns and silently leads us down the pathway, and whispers erupt around me. I turn to Al.

"She should've seen that coming," I said. I never was really fond of Candor.

"He didn't seem like a joking kind of guy from the beginning," He pointed out.

I stare at the back of Four's head and think about my choice of faction. Could I ever be as serious and intimidating as he is? Maybe we don't all have to be serious, thats just what he chooses to be. I can be brave and fun-loving at the same time, I know I can. But I don't know if thats excepted. Dauntless is more intimidating to me than I expected.

Suddenly I miss Malcolm and my parents so much it hurts.

I wanted Aria to think of Four more as a scary intimidating guy, and to her, he sets what she thinks to be all of Dauntless expectations. She is overy-worried.

Thank you so much for sticking with my story!
