Here's chapter four read and review please and enjoy! x

As the days went on, the weather became more promising with summer now approaching and as Angel was soon to learn, with the blooming flowers of spring and summer, blossoming romance wasn't far behind it. With the amount of money saved up Angel booked Gotz in to build an extension on her home. 'Fantastic I'll be over first thing in the morning with the plans for redesigning your house,' Angel notably happy as she went about her work across the farm that day, collecting eggs from the barn and milking the cows in the shed.

After harvesting some spring crops Angel thought about the summer seeds she would soon have to stock, though as she set off into the village with an afternoon to relax, Angel got more than she bargained for. Taking a stroll down towards the beach the brunette farmer noticed Rock approaching her, and being well known for his romantic intentions Angel wasn't too surprised when he started attempting to flirt with her. 'I always come down to look at the sea I think it is so beautiful, it seems to resemble me as I too am beautiful,' Angel looked at him with a confused expression at his attitude to his looks, seeing the considerably vain side of him. 'Oh I know why you're here…' Rock said glancing over at Angel and mistaking the emotions swept across her face, 'you've come to check me out, well look all you want gorgeous I'm all yours.'

Looking slightly irritated at Rock's forward behaviour Angel couldn't decide whether it was Skye's genuine and flattering remarks which brought her to feel the way she did, or whether it was purely the arrogance in Rock's personality which she didn't care for. Though after falling silent, and subconsciously continuing to watch Rock he decided that he was correct, 'it would seem we see eye to eye, accept it Angel we'd be a perfect match…' frowning slightly Angel made to leave but was held off by Rock. After managing to swerve out of Rock's way Angel was quick to go back up the hill towards her home when she almost bumped into Griffin. 'Sorry…' she mumbled realising who she'd walked into, 'oh Angel hi' he greeted cheerfully the young farmer noticing Griffin's guitar in his hand. 'Will you be dropping by the blue bar tonight?'

'Yes probably,' she answered cheerfully brushing a part of her hair out of the way as she noticed Griffin admiring her, 'I'm glad you are a pleasure to talk to and being in your company makes everything seem so much more lively.' Angel looked exasperatedly at Griffin unable to believe what she was hearing, he can't possibly…no I'm just over-reacting it must have been that encounter with Rock…it's just confused me a little… 'Angel I sometimes wonder how this village came into such fortune by having your arrival,' the farmer shaking off her shocked expression and quickly excused herself from the conversation, not paying attention to where she was going.

'Angel! Over here!' The young lady relieved to see that it was Takakura calling her over, 'have you taken the horse out for a ride lately?' Angel shook her head but assured him that she would be going out later so she would take him then. 'Good, are you alright? You seem a bit quiet…'

'I don't know Taka…' the old friend of her fathers encouraged her to explain herself and offered to stroll with her to the Goddess pond, apparently used to her shortened nickname for him. 'It's just there are so many potential bachelors in the valley and they're all coming at once, it's just I can't sort my feelings out, it's incredibly difficult…'

'The little I know about love Angel is that when you meet who's right for you, you'll find they stand out from the rest for one reason or another. When your dad met your mum their was a spark between them which was only noticed when he was around other women and you could just see how the two were suited perfectly, I was the same when I met my wife she was the other half of me my missing piece, and it's only when your faced with losing them or not seeing them that they cloud your mind and heart. It's only then you know they're your soul mates.' Angel thanked Takakura for his advice, it being the first time she had known the aging mentor talk about his own wife, but choosing not to pressure the subject Angel then went on to chat to him as they came back towards Bloom Ranch. 'One thing to remember is the theory and idea behind yin and yang, one represents light and one represents dark. Separate they are not of much good but together they counter balance one another, no relationship is perfect but that is what brings about balance.'

Thinking deeply about what Takakura had said Angel went back to the farm with every intention to work out her feelings and where her heart stood in love, though as she got in the door a knock came almost as soon as she closed it behind her. 'Angel? I'm coming in,' Rock's voice called through much to her despair, 'Rock this is a surprise' she said feeling cornered as Rock strode into her room. 'I've come to ask you on a date tonight,' he announced Angel feeling pushed into it, 'I…can't I promised to meet a friend tonight' she replied honestly not wanting to miss seeing Skye.

'I understand, I'll let you think about it and I'll come back to arrange times later,' he answered oblivious to rejection as he then left before Angel could say anything. Great she thought putting a hand to her head as she went to get a drink of water. Sitting down on the edge of her bed Angel wasn't convinced that she would be able to easily get out of seeing Rock when a thought struck her. Rock never came to the blue bar and from his words she presumed he would come back to bloom ranch to see her, so after quickly getting changed into a pair of light blue jeans and a v-neck top with flowing sleeves that came down to her wrists she quickly left her home just as the sun began to set.

Sitting in the bar and barely touching her drink, Griffin leant over the bar interrupting Angel from her thoughts. 'Your certainly quiet tonight Angel something bothering you?'

'No,' she answered trying to look as happy as she could though Muffy wasn't falling for the act as she beckoned her friend over and took her into the back. 'What's up?' she quizzed Angel unable to avert the blonde barmaids gaze, 'I guess I'm just feeling a little stressed at the moment I have a lot of feelings to consider without hurting any of them and it's proving difficult.' Muffy looked at Angel with sympathy, thinking it was more than likely boy troubles, 'well have you ever thought of just going out with each and seeing what they're like to date?'

'It's not that Muffy I just need to know where I stand so I can let the others down gently but I just don't like the idea of being so pressured into all of this it's not something I'm used to…' Muffy was at a loss for what to say to her friend and after trying to reassure her that she would be okay, they both headed back into the bar.

Checking the time Angel decided it was best that she headed out, convinced that Rock would have taken the hint, but as she walked down keeping as far out of the way from the Inn when Rock suddenly approached her. 'Angel! I'd been looking for you, you ready to go on our date?'

'Rock, I really am busy look I'm sorry but I have to go,' she answered honestly walking past the disgruntled young man and crossing the bridge towards the entrance of the valley. Seeing the lights on in Vesta's shop so late surprised Angel, so putting her head around the door she saw only Marlin stood about. 'Hey,' she greeted smiling Marlin turning to her and asking her to come in, 'what are you doing in here alone?'

'I'm just sorting out some of the seeds and such, Vesta doesn't like me doing too much heavy work,' he answered Marlin's voice becoming quieter as he got to the end of his sentence. Angel walked in farther asking if he needed any help, when Marlin looked at her with envy asking Angel a question she didn't expect. 'How do you do it Angel? I mean you work all day on that farm just you and no one else, and then you manage to go out and enjoy yourself too without seeming to lose any energy from it. To be honest with you I'm quite ill or rather I was, but now I find that my energy levels drain very easily so I'm left without being able to do as much…'

Angel pitied Marlin never before realising the extent of how it bothered her friend, and also finding it surprising that he was opening up to her. 'Marlin the work you do is highly valued here on Vesta's farm and you do work hard, but although I appear to work very hard and I do I often get quite drained myself but if you set yourself aside some time to try and go out, maybe you'd feel better in yourself…' Marlin nodded thankful for Angel's presence and it was then he asked her to stay with him for a little while and he would treat her to a drink. Feeling inclined to say yes after what she had just been told Angel and Marlin went to the blue bar and enjoyed it, despite Skye being at the back of her mind throughout the entire evening.

Awaking the following morning, Angel was frustrated to find rain falling lightly outside knowing in an instant she would not see Skye that night. Getting out of bed and stretching Angel brushed her hair, which only revealed its length at night as she slept with it down before bringing it up out of her way for work as she went out, making a quick run towards the bird shed and animal shed. After milking the cows and putting the produce into the shipping bin Angel returned down to the entrance only to find Gotz there ready to build her extension.

Breathing deeply as she took a walk around the valley, not able to shut out her thoughts of Skye when as she twirled the umbrella above her not noticing the darkness overcoming the light of day, Angel could've sworn she saw a figure over by her home and after cautiously returning she found a note on the doormat.

My beloved maiden,

It would seem that our meeting didn't go entirely to plan last night, I look forward to the hope you shall see me tomorrow night however you may find soon I will not be around at the usual time on one evening… Until we meet tomorrow my dear goodnight Phantom Skye x

Smiling at the unexpected message Angel put it on her bedside table re-reading it before she went to sleep, knowing that Skye had come out in the rain to deliver it by hand…something she had never known him do. Could he really be capturing her heart?
