Please don't hate me... I know its been long but I have made this story so much longer for my wonderful readers WHO THROW THAT! Anyway, I am so so so so so so sorry! Chapter 4

End of dream.

Mai woke to her own bed. She was alone. She remembered what happened the night before and blushed. She then remembered that Naru was sleeping beside her. She then just had a horrible thought. Could all of this... just be a dream. She looked down, she was in her underwear like in her dream. She then heard a noise. It sounded like a door opening. She wrapped herself in her blanket and came out of her bedroom. Standing there in the hallway, was a towel clad Naru. The towel was only over his lower half, and so Mai had a good view of his chest and his abs. Naru saw that Mai was staring and smirked.

"Like what you see?" Naru teased. Mai was too sleepy to argue. She just blushed and looked away.

"I'm going to have a shower" Mai said walking into the bathroom without anything to change into. She was too tired. Naru just shrugged and went to the kitchen.

Ten minutes later, Mai cames out the bathroom, only in a short towel. It came just below her hips and just hid her top half. Naru looked at her and raised a brow.

"I forgot my clothes ok!" Mai answered his unasked question. Naru smirked and looked away. Naru was still in a towel himself "Put some clothes on! I going to get changed in my room" Mai said walking to her room. Naru shrugged and went to his bag. He got out a pair of black slacks and a midnight blue shirt (That went very well with his eyes). He left for the bathroom.

He came out a minute later and went back to the kitchen to finish their breakfast. He placed two plates on the table just as Mai came out of her room. She was dressed in a midnight blue dress with a black belt around the waist. She looked at Naru and smiled, her biggest and brightest smile yet. Naru's eyes softened and a light smile crossed his lips. A real smile. It was filled with warmth and love. Mai couldn't help but blush, but like the first time, she didn't turn away to hide her embarrassment. Naru then went on to finish their breakfast, placing steamed rice, miso soup, broiled/grilled fish, tamagoyaki and natto on the table.

"Wow Naru, you made all this?" Mai asked, sounding doubtful.

"Well if I didn't, who did?" Naru asked sarcastically, sending a smirk her way. Mai just stuck her tong out at him. Naru walked up to her. She was waiting for him to tease her, but instead he cupped her cheek and kissed her passionately. Mai blushed but soon kissed him back. They broke for air soon after.

"So what do we do now Naru? Do we go back to SPR and face them all?" Mai asked. She didn't want to leave, she wanted to stay there with Naru.

"Well if we tell them nothing happened and that we are together now, they might let it go" Naru answered. Mai blushed again.

"So we are together?" She asked, hope in her voice. Naru didn't answer at first, he just kissed her again.

"If that's what you want...

At SPR

Monk had, indeed, calmed down... kinda. He had some time to reflect. He had to remember that Mai wasn't the young girl that alway needed protecting anymore. It was because he had known that she loved Naru and that he turned her down, that made him so angry. Then for Naru to suddenly do that... how could he be sure Naru wasn't using Mai. There are places for misunderstanding in the information he has, and that why he has calmed down so much. He wanted to know the situation, and if he had made some wrong assumptions about what happened, then he would leave it.

He and everyone, apart from Mai and Naru, had arrived. They were sitting around, with the exception of Lin and Madoka, who were in Lin's office. Masako was staring daggers at the door, Ayako was teasing Monk about his reaction, Yasu was smirking at Monk and Ayako's arguing and John was trying to calm Masako. It was relatively calm, till the door open and an awkward silence washed over everyone. In came a matching couple.

"Hey guys!" Mai greeted, in an attempt to break the silence... It didn't work. Everyone looked at them like they had grown two heads.

"Big boss... your wearing a coloured shirt... that matches Mai? Whatever happened yesterday had to have been pretty special. Good work Mai!" Yasu, ever the trouble maker, cheered. He got death glares from both a blushing Mai and a blushing Naru.

"Look, nothing happened yesterday!" Mai defended.

"You looked pretty close yesterday for nothing to have happened!" Masako spat, like the words themselves were venom.

"What you saw was out of context" Naru directed those words at Masako.

"So are you too together now or not?" Ayako piped in.

"Yes, anymore questions?" Naru asked. He was satisfied when there were nodes all around. No one was surprised, apart from Masako. She had a slightly different theory.

Later that day, Mai left for the kitchen, but Masako followed her in.

"seducing people is low Mai, even for you" Masako spat once again. Mai had to stop herself from yelling.

"Got something to say, Masako?" Mai asked, mockingly. Mai in truth, wanted nothing more than to slap her.

"You and Naru will never last, just you wait, he needs more than you. You can jump into bed with as many men as you like, and sleep with Naru as many times as you like, but he will never love you!" Masako nearly screamed. "You- You WHORE!" SLAP! Mai was livid, so much that she had hit the medium.

"How dare you!" Mai seethed "I never slept with anyone! WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO LOOK DOWN ON ME!" Mai yelled. She didn't notice everyone in the doorway. They had followed Masako when she went into the kitchen. They saw the look in her eyes, and knew it must be trouble. They had heard everything, they all did, even Naru.

"I think now would be a good time to close up" Monk suggested, breaking the awkward silence that had fallen. Masako looked at Mai one more time and gave her the nastiest look she could manage, and walked out. John ran out after her, in an attempt to calm the girl. Mai just stood there. She was about to run out but Naru stopped her. He pulled her into an embrace.

"Lets go Mai" Naru told her gently "Lin, be sure to lock up when your done" And with that, the couple walked out.

The car ride was silent, all the way to Mai's house. Mai had found it strange that now everything was over, Naru still wanted to stay. They walked in and Mai turned on the light. Mai didn't dare look at Naru the whole time... untill...

"Everything Miss Hara said was a lie" Naru told her, she was a bit awed. "She said I would never love you... I loved you all along" Naru told her, it wasn't easy for Naru to let go of his pride. Mai looked up at him. She stood there, shocked.

"Then why did you turn me down?" She asked, she didn't even notice how forward she was being.

"I didn't Mai, I thought you loved my brother... When you told me you didn't, I kinda lost it a little" Naru admitted, in the idea of full disclosure. Mai couldn't stop her tears, but I smile crossed her lips despite herself. She rapped her arms around Naru's neck, and placed her lips on his in a long, intoxicating kiss...

When Mai awoke this morning, it didn't matter what had happend the other day, because she now knows she has made love with Naru... all night long.
