Jason POV
I could tell she was as perplexed as I was. There were so many question regarding her father and Juno but I knew those could wait as I escorted Clarisse to the Council Room. When we entered the city a gasp could be heard from Clarisse. "Yeah, monsters have been attacking non-stop for a few weeks already, We tried communicating with your camp when this happened but we couldn't get through." "Same on our side, it appears something or somebody is controlling the traffic of IM's. I knew we had it rough but I could never imagine you guys were in the same conditions, how did this happen?" We passed the barracks, or what was left of the barracks, the roof was burning as the whole complex had been destroyed by a boulder. "I was with the other council members when the attack commenced. Terminus appeared in his statue form stating that the enemies had broken the perimeter guards. We imagined it was just a few monsters since the informants didn't survive, we brought the usual amount of soldiers for an attack but nothing could have prepared us for what came."
"The first wave consisted of empousa and giants. While the empousa engaged us, the giants took out our defenses. As we dispatched the final enemies the second and largest wave arrived. The leader was a dracaena leading thirty hellhounds, twenty laestrygonians and twenty more dracaena. They were an impossible army which we were never prepared for. The alarms reached all legions and former members to protect their lands. I'll tell you the rest later."
Clarisse and I finally arrived to the council. There waiting impatiently was a very angry Mars and an unpleasant Juno. "Lady Juno, I have brought Clarisse daughter of Ares." This peaks Mars interest as he turned to address his daughter. "I see you have arrived." "Yes father but I don't know how I got here" "I summoned you here. I need your help. That bastard Percy thinks he can insult me and not receive any consequences because he is the child of my uncle. As if. I'll show him the power of Mars!" I can tell Clarisse is uncomfortable having this conversation. "Uhm, father, you do know that I was there when this took place and I'm inclined to agree with my friend." "HOW DARE YOU AGREE WITH THAT SIMPLE MINDED FISH! I summoned you here to command the largest army you will ever see, yet you side with my enemy! Be gone at once. I don't want to see you ever again!".
With that Mars exploded and disappeared leaving a unsatisfied Juno deciding on what to do with a lonely and shocked daughter of Ares. Juno finally spoke after a few awkward moments. "It appears that even his most praised daughter cannot follow him into battle, what do you think that makes your father Clarisse? If his favorite daughter won't join him, how do you think he feels right now? He needs to find retribution with Percy's death and the destruction of Camp Half-Blood. I hope you now know what we are doing here young Clarisse." "I do m'lady, but I cannot support my father's madness. I must return and warn my friends. Jason where are Reyna, Piper, Hazel, and Frank?". "I thought Will told you. He came over here with a prophecy, it asked for the Jupiter saviors to save the Maiden Huntress." "You mean Artemis? we've noticed that she was missing but captured!? Somebody would have told us by now, right?" "I don't know, and neither did Will. That's why he left as swiftly as possible once everybody was ready, I had to stay for there must always be a praetor in charge." "Ok, do you know where he went? Once the counselor meeting was over, Will disappeared for a few hours and then told Chiron that he was off, he nor Chiron ever told us anything." "I know as little as you do, sorry Clarisse."
Annabeth POV
I woke in the middle of a circle of fire, like nothing I had seen before. The red flames harvesting three shadows, two female and one male. "Our little pet has awoken Themis." "Who are you?! Where am I?!" "Ugh she will not shut up, just like her mother... Let's see young demigod, if you truly are the daughter of the goddess of Wisdom tell us who are we?" There was mockery in the feminine voice that emerged from the shadows followed by the woman who owned it. Themis, I realized, the once titaness of Divine law and Justice, stood by me her shadow extending above my body. Her embodiment of justice was a particular kind of justice, it was not the kind of justice my mother embodied which was justice imparted by thinking. Themis had a tendency for choosing sides. She was too skinny, too pale. She looked at me with hatred.
A girl with light blonde hair stepped towards me, she had a tattoo of a half moon in her forearm. "Let me guess, you are Selene." Selene was the titaness of the moon, she had a chariot equivalent to the of Apollo but she had used it to summon the moon from the sky. When the gods and the titans had fought she had maintained a neutral position but then Artemis had taken her chariot away, and Apollo had taken Elios'. "Artemis is not the only one who can modify her body at pleasure. After all she just has the powers I have, I am the first of all maidens, my symbols used to be the bow and the moon, you will associate that today with Artemis but she just stole it away. And now I've trapped her." The little girl extended her palm towards me, a ball of sand formed and spinned around itself slowly, inside it in fetus position laid Artemis. "Do you know Annabeth what moon sand does to gods?" I shook my head, feeling for once stupid. "Moon sand drains gods of their powers, it always has, as it used to be a realm of titans it's force repels gods. As Artemis has the chariot of the moon her energy was not drained, it was as if she was disguised within something forged by titans. Now she is vulnerable, she is held in a prison of moon sand, a prison only I can break. And every moment she spends there her godly energy is drained from her. Soon she will be mortal, and I will kill her with my bare hands."A shiver rand down my back, if a goddess died when she was mortal then that was it, no regenerating. Annabeth thought about the judges in Tartarus and realized that if it did happen souls would be judge by Artemis. "What about Elios, should he not have a part in this?" "Ahh my silly brother, he and Apollo chatted long after Apollo took the chariot, they even came to a deal, Elios comes with Apollo every morning in the chariot and some times Apollo will even let him drive. All behind Zeus's back." There was clear mockery in Selene's voice, she thought it was dumb to make a deal with a God.
