Before I start there is a part in the story where two of the characters speak English. To avoid confusion, that will be indicated with BOLD From now on. Enjoy :)
Just as the girl predicted it was raining. She sat at the cash register ringing customers up as she noticed a girl from school. She was the blonde girl from class 2-C. The one that all the boys fawned over all the time. She didn't know her exactly, but she seen her around school sometimes.
The girl came up to the gingers register and laid her things down.
Tera started to ring up her items and make small talk. "Meat and potatoes huh? Nice choice. It's a personal favorite of my brother."
The girl smiled, "So I've heard about men. They all like meat and potatoes."
Before the small talk got awkward, Tera continued. "Wow it's really coming down out there huh? I'd hate to walk in that."
The girl took her receipt and smiled, "Thanks."
Not to be too nosy, but the ginger girl couldn't help but notice Eri standing in front of the store in the rain. She looked sad about getting rejected from whoever that was in the limo. The tiny girl knew the feeling all too well, and related to her in a way. She didn't know what they were talking about, but she could take a good guess.
'Looks like all the divas of 2-C aren't so perfect after all. Look at that rain. The bus is going to be so crowded tonight.'
(Yagami High School)
The trio of friends were enjoying their boxed lunches once again.
Tera stared at the beautiful Yakumo, "Man, what's a girl gotta do to get the attention she gets? I mean look at her. She's able to eat two boxes of curry and not look the slightest bit greedy or unfeminine."
Asuka sighed, "You gonna stare at her all day there Tera?"
The ginger shook her head, "I guess I just wish I was her sometimes ya know?"
The tiny red head rubbed her throat, "I'm so thirsty. I'm gonna go get a drink; I'll be back."
As she exited the class Keiko looked to Yakumo and Sarah, "She is kinda...beautiful."
The blonde girl facepalmed, "That wasn't the point. Tera's just been feeling bad lately...Imadori business and such. We gotta boost that girls confidence back up or she's gonna mope forever."
Tera began roaming around outside the school building as she saw two guys drinking from a water fountain. It was some guys from class 2-C. The tan one from the hospital...and the other one was from the night of her broken leg.
'Looks like a drink is out of the question. It'll be best if I avoid them. I can't bear to face my embarrassment again.'
She sat on a bench in the shade. "It's so cool here."
She heard someone sit on the bench with her. "Hey there Short stuff."
Of course, there he was, the blonde boy again. He extended a hand to the girl, "We've never met properly. I'm Harry."
Her eyes widened as she shook his hand, "You speak English too?"
He nodded, "Well I am from America."
She was happy to know that she and Asuka weren't the only foreigners. Though she wasn't really foreign anymore, she'd been in Japan since she was eight.
Tera continued, "Shouldn't you be eating with your friends right now?"
He'd give a half smile and she'd raise a brow, "Shouldn't you?"
The ginger looked away, "I was...thirsty okay..."
She stood up from the bench, "I think it's time for me to head back to class."
She looked back and smiled, "Tera's the name by the way. I'll catch you around?"
She looked up at the sky, "Will this rain ever end?"
Harry looked up as well, "How do you know, there's not a cloud in the sky."
She began to walk away, "I dunno. I'm just good with those things I guess."
She pointed at her leg, "Sign my cast?"
She'd hand him a marker from her pocket and he'd take it. He wrote what he needed and handed her the pen back.
She gave him a thumbs up, "Thanks, I'll read it when I get this thing off."
He'd get off the bench as well and begin to walk away, "Alright, but don't wait too long."
It was late after school, and the rain was pouring down hard. Tera stayed after for extra tutoring. Everyone was already long gone including her brother and friends. As she exited the school building she wrapped her cast in a large plastic bag.
"This is gonna suck. The bus doesn't come for another hour. I'd be quicker just to walk home."
As she walked, she noticed a sad Harima on a swing not too far from her house. As much as she wanted to avoid the man, she didn't like to see him look so down.
She sat on the swing next to him, "Hey, you okay?"
He'd not speak and she wouldn't force anything out of him.
She put a hand on his back, "Well whatever you're going through it can't be worse than me. The love of my life doesn't even notice me. I made the swim team but I can't swim due to my broken leg. And worst of all, I won't get this damn thing off until summer vacation."
She'd stand up from the swing and look at the man, "You should try reading manga from Nijo. His work is amazing and it always makes me feel better."
She began to limp back on her way. She noticed a brown haired woman sitting on a bench with her umbrella. She was very pretty, and a bit older. The ginger ignored her presence and began to think out loud.
"Poor guy, all alone. He could really use a woman in his life. He's not half bad looking either." The brown haired lady's eyes lit up as she got off the bench and began to walk into the direction opposite Tera.
The next day was significantly clearer. There were practically no clouds in the sky, and it seemed like a nice day. Tera and Keiko were sitting on a bench in the middle of town near the city river.
Keiko poked Tera's leg, "I see you've got a new signature. Who is it?"
She knew who it was from, but in all honesty, she didn't read it. It was on the back of her leg and it would be a stretch to even try.
The ginger waved her hand dismissively, "Oh it was just Harry."
The brunette's eyes widened, "Harry as in Harry Mackenzie? As in hottest guy in 2-D and possibly the school, Harry?"
Tera's face changed as she didn't know of the fondness her friend had for him. "Well sure he's cute...but he doesn't beat my Imadori by one itsy bitsy bit."
Her eyes almost began to gloss over as she thought about him. Keiko waved a hand in the girls face, "Uhhhh Earth to Tera."
As she began to snap back into reality, she noticed Tsukamoto chasing after something not too far from her. As she got closer it was clear that she was chasing a black cat down the street screaming for help. From where they were seated on the bridge they could see a tiny black cat floating downstream on a piece of driftwood. Before the two could take action, some mysterious man had already jumped into the water.
Keiko scratched her face, "Was that...a water sprite?"
Tera playfully shoulder bumped her friend. "You know those things aren't real. Let's head home. We've got tests coming up and I need to study.."
They began to head off, "Hey maybe we should call Asuka and have a sleep over. Yoichi's staying at his friends' tonight and I don't wanna be alone."
(Reeve's Residence)
The girls all sat in the living room of Tera's apartment. Keiko started, "So where's Yoichi at anyway?"
The ginger stuck out her tongue, "He's at Mai Ootsuka's place. Lord knows what they do over there, but he always comes home with glitter in his hair."
A glimmer of sadness came to Keiko's eyes, "Oh...are they exclusive?"
The red head shrugged "Don't know, don't care."
Asuka tapped her chin, "Yoichi is super passive, and Mai is so…aggressive. I don't think that'll work…"
Tera shrugged her shoulders, "Well it's been working so far I suppose. But I seriously don't even want to know about the glitter."
Asuka continued, "Maybe its magic girl cosplay…"
The room got silent for a moment before they all laughed at the thought.
Tera waved her hand "Nah, Mai is way too serious for that. And Yoichi would look ridiculous."
The blonde girl glared at Tera's cast, "Do you know how much stuff we could do if this thing was off? Please don't get any more injuries. If you get hurt again during summer vacation I swear I'm not waiting for you to get better."
The girl looked closer, "Whose signature is that?"
The red head sighed, "It's just Harry Mackenzie. No big deal."
Asuka looked to Keiko, "Clearly she doesn't know the importance of this. What does it say? Did you read it?"
The tiny ginger shook her head, "Nah, I think I'm just gonna read everyone's after I get it off. Oh, and good news, doc says I'm healing exceptionally well...sooooo, that means I'll be getting my cast off two weeks before vacation."
Tera stretched out her arms and yawned, "Exams are coming up so let's study."
The girls all began to move to Tera's room as she continued. "I was thinking about visiting that old shrine before school. I'm gonna pray for a bit of success. My grades are only second to Yakumo. If I do well on these exams then I'll be ahead of the class, Imadori will fall in love with my brilliance, and we'll get married and live happily ever after."
Her friends looked ever so confused. Tera shrugged, "...or something like that..."
