The host Gippal stood in front of Owzer's house. "I'm standing in front of the world famous art collector Owzer's house. It is a highly respected art house, and also the first pitstop in a race around worlds. Teams fought hard using all the skills they had to win, but due to a challenging roadblock, the Sephiroth/Jenova team was eliminated. After the race, teams had a chance to sleep, eat, and mingle with the other teams during a twelve hour rest break. Tifa and Paine who were first to arrive at 3:22 pm will now depart at 3:22 am."

[Tifa & Paine: Just met, 1st to depart 3:22 am]
Tifa and Paine stood in front of a clue box in front of Owzer's house. Paine, who was holding the clue, ripped open the clue and read, "Travel to the city of South Figaro. Your next clue will be in front of the chocobo stables. You have 300 gil for this leg."

[Announcer Gippal]
"Teams must now travel to the city of South Figaro and find the clue box at the entrance to the city next to some chocobo stables, which should be relatively easy to find."

[Tifa & Paine: Just met, 1st to depart: 3:22 am]
"Okay, let's go," Tifa said.
Paine and Tifa ran through Jidoor until they finally found a woman wandering around outside the auction house.
"Excuse us," Tifa said to the woman. She turned and looked at Tifa. "We need to get to South Figaro as quickly as possible, know any good ways to go?"
"Just use Wandering Gambler Flights," she said. "They have a flying casino that flies around the world and makes stops wherever people need it. He stops by the Opera House every morning, so I'm sure you'll find a flight to South Figaro there."
"Thanks," Paine said coldly.
"Come on, no time for flirting," Tifa said to Paine.
"By the end of this race you're going to owe me a new boot when I lose this one up your ass," Paine said to Tifa as they both ran to the Opera House.

[Auron & Jecht: Grizzled Old Guys, 2nd to depart: 3:24 am]
"Which way'd those two chicks go?" Jecht asked Auron. "There's some babe over there, let's ask her where they went."
Auron and Jecht ran to the woman in front of the auction house.
"Hey lady!" Jecht yelled at the woman. "You seen a girl with big jugs run by here?"
"Sure did," she responded.
"Where'd they go?" Auron asked.
"South of here to Wandering Gambler Flights. Why?"
Auron and Jecht ran quickly away the same way Tifa and Paine had run without thanking the woman.
They finally reached a small depot with a sign on the door. Tifa and Paine were sitting on the ground with their backs against the door to the depot. Auron reached above their heads, took the sign off, and read it.
"Hours of Operation: 6:00 am to 9:00 pm."
"Yeah, all the teams are going to catch up," Tifa said. "It just figures."
"Since we're the only two teams here, do you want to form an alliance?" Auron asked.
"You'll just break it," Paine said.
"Hell yeah we will," Jecht said. "But let's do it anyway. Whenever we do things to slow teams down, we'll try not to slow you two down quite as much, and you two use your jugs and such to get information and share as much as you feel with us."
"Deal," Paine said.

[Amarant & Lani: Coworkers, 3rd to depart: 3:32 am]
"Come on," Lani said running down the Jidoor steps. "I saw this place by the Opera that had flights. We can catch one if we hurry! So move your ass, bitch!"
Amarant walked slowly down the steps, and even slower once he was down them.
"What the hell's up now?" Lani asked angrily as she backtracked to meet up with Amarant.
"It's three in the morning," Amarant said dully. "This place isn't going to open for another couple hours. Just conserve your energy."

[Shinra & Rufus: Father/Son, 4th to depart: 3:49 am]
"South FIGARO!?" Rufus yelled, reading through the clue. "Dammit! I hate those brothers!"
"What's wrong Randy?" Shinra asked.
"Figaro! That's those damned brothers' last name! They're gonna pass us for sure. They'll know all the shortcuts to get there."
"So why not form an alliance with them?" Shinra suggested. "They're not far behind us, let's wait for them."
"Good idea Tubby! Good to see your brain isn't entirely lard yet."
"Thanks son."

[Raijin & Fujin: Friends, 5th to depart: 3:51 am]
Raijin and Fujin looked at Rufus and Shinra as they sat beside the clue box. Raijin disregarded them and read the clue. Fujin continued to stare at the Shinras as Raijin read.
"PATHETIC," Fujin said.
"Yeah, if they wanna lose they can go right ahead ya know," Raijin said. "Come on Fujin."

[Edgar & Sabin: Brothers, 6th to depart: 3:56 am]
"Finally!" Rufus yelled as Edgar and Sabin walked out of the building and up to the clue box.
"What?" Edgar asked.
"Read the clue, you'll figure it out," Rufus explained.
Edgar and Sabin read the clue together.
After reading it, Edgar sighed. "Fine, follow us. But hurry! I don't want any other teams seeing us."
Edgar, Sabin, Rufus, and Shinra ran for the Jidoor chocobo stables and purchased four chocobos. They all rode their chocobos north. The chocobos were extremely fast, and within a minute they reached a castle in the middle of the desert.
"Welcome to Figaro Castle," Edgar said while dismounting his chocobo.
"There some sort of underground passage?" Rufus asked.
"Better!" Sabin said. "You'll love it. Come in."
The four of them ran inside and down a flight of stairs to a man working some heavy machinery.
"Hey man," Edgar said to him. "We need to go to South Figaro. Take us over the mountains please."
"Over?" Shinra said. "Something this big flies?"
"I mean, umm, under the mountains."
The man pulled a giant lever and the castle began to shake and move.
"Don't worry, it's safe," Sabin said. "We're gonna go chat with the chancellor real quick, so feel free to make yourselves at home here. It'll only take a minute to get there, but feel free to grab some food from the kitchen area. After this thing gets to the other side, just find the cave. It'll take you through to South Figaro. Easy easy."
Sabin and Edgar ran off, as did Shinra in search of the kitchen.

[Strago & Relm: Grandpa/Granddaughter, 7th to depart: 4:07 am]
Relm ripped open the clue and read it.
"South Figaro eh?" Strago said. "Shouldn't be a problem. Think Edgar and Sabin will let us use Figaro Castle?"
"I doubt it," Relm said. "They were ahead of us, and I don't exactly see them waiting for us."
"Why wouldn't they wait for us? Those young sons of bitches."
"It's all my fault," Relm said.
"Why's that?"
"They'd have waited for us if only my jugs were bigger."
"Very true. Oh well, let's get going. I hear Setzer has a thing set up over by the Opera House, so let's go there."

[Steiner & Beatrix: Dating, 8th to depart: 4:11 am]
"How'll we get to South Figaro?" Beatrix asked Steiner.
Steiner grinned. "And you thought it wouldn't come in handy," he said.
"What're you talking about?"
Steiner pulled a brochure out of his breast-plate and showed it to Beatrix. "It was for the Opera House. I read through it a few times, and I remember an small advertisement about a flight service that comes by in the mornings and lands right next to the Opera House. We'll just catch that flight!"
"Good thinking Adelbert! Who'd have thought your fruity theatre hobby would help so much!"
"Huh? What was that?"
"I said 'come on' so we don't miss it."
"Oh... wait, that's not what you said! Beatrix-dear!"

[Squall & Rinoa: Dating, 9th to depart: 4:16 am]
"Oh, I remember now! That place by the Opera House," Rinoa said. "It has flights and-" Rinoa looked down at Squall's hand. "What's that?"
"My ring," Squall said.
"No no, next to it. There's another ring."
"Oh. It's a ring," Squall said sarcastically.
"Thanks," Rinoa said sarcastically back. "Where'd you get it?"
"At the auction. It's called a Hero Ring. They let me have it for a hundred gil."
"So WHY is it not on MY finger?"
"Sorry, heroes only."
"I'll take it from you if you don-"
"We need to go," Squall said. "We're blocking the camera's shot, and I think the next team is going to depart soon."
Squall and Rinoa left toward the Opera House while continuing their ring discussion.

[Shinra & Rufus: Father/Son, Currently in 2nd]
"Oh my god Fatty, I hate you so much," Rufus said.
Shinra walked to Rufus at the castle gates while carrying two hot dogs and a large soda. "What's wrong Ricky?"
"You screwed us, that's what! The brothers left while I was waiting for you to get your damn food. Now look! Look out there! See that?"
"Sand?"
"Yes sand! We're out in the middle of nowhere now! Completely lost!"
Rufus and Shinra headed out into the desert and started their search heading south.

[Wandering Gambler Flights: 6:14 am]
After what seemed like an eternity, a large airship with a big black balloon landed behind the small travel department with seven teams waiting. A ramp slid down from the ship and a white-haired man in a trench coat holding a mug of coffee walked down the ramp. He went to the entrance to the travel agency and sipped his coffee while juggling his keys in his other hand trying to unlock the door. Once the door was opened, he put his keys back in his pocket, grabbed the sign from Auron's hands and put it on the door, only this time it had the back facing outward, which read "Open."
"Hey Setzer, wanna hurry the hell up?" Relm shouted from the back of a line of the contestants that had formed.
The man turned around and looked through the crowd until he made eye contact with the small girl. "Oh hey there Relm. What's the hurry?"
"We're not allowed to say, but trust me, it's important. So move your ass!"
"Geez, you in some sort of race or something?"
"Exactly! But I can't say which one. Let's just say, it's amazing!"
Setzer as a gambling man has always watched any reality television show, and even though this series was new, he'd heard about it. He'd been looking for a way to make back the money he'd lost on "Serial Killer Survivor" for quite some time now. He pushed open the door and anxiously waved the teams inside.

[Announcer Gippal]
"The teams aboard the first flight on WGF are: Paine and Tifa, Auron and Jecht, Amarant and Lani, Raijin and Fujin, Steiner and Beatrix, Strago and Relm, and Squall and Rinoa."

[Edgar & Sabin: Brothers, Currently in 1st]
Edgar and Sabin approached the chocobo stables in South Figaro. Edgar found the clue box in front of the stables and pulled out the clue.
"Roadblock," he read out loud. "Who is sneaky?"

[Announcer Gippal]
"A roadblock is a task that only one person can perform. In this roadblock, one member of each team must search the entire town for a person dressed as a merchant, then mug the person for his or her clothes and use the new disguise to get passed a small boy who only lets merchants pass. Once through, an old man will give them their next clue."

[Edgar & Sabin: Brothers, Currently in 1st]
"I think I should do it bro," Sabin said. "You're pretty bad at being sneaky."
"Okay Sabin, go for it."
Sabin started running through the streets in search of a merchant when he suddenly remembered that there was an underground room in the cafe with the old man's cider. No merchant could ever resist bringing that man cider. He tips well. Sabin went into the cafe and immediately ran for the stairs to the underground room. His suspicions were correct, there was a male merchant reaching for the cider.
"Hold up a minute sir," Sabin said to him.
The merchant looked back and gave him the finger.
"Okay, if that's how you want it," Sabin said, cracking his knuckles. "I was going to take it easy on you, but you asked for it."
Sabin ran at the guy in a crazy bum rush, but still restrained himself and simply punched the guy in the face, knocking him across the room and flat against the wall. With the merchant either dead or unconscious, Sabin started undressing the merchant and putting the clothes on himself.
"Man, how does Locke do it? These clothes are way to tight. How does he get them on so quick?"

[Rikku & Yuna: Cousins, 10th to depart: 8:14 am]
"Yunie, what is this?" Rikku asked Yuna, looking up from the clue.
"I think those are 'letters' Rikku," she responded.
"No no no, I mean what is a South Figaro. I've never heard of it, and once again we're in last place."
"We should probably ask that travel place by the play place. I've always wanted to go back there."
"You're weird Yunie. But that's probably a good place to start."
Yuna and Rikku ran south towards Wandering Gambler Flights where they would wait for the next flight.

[First Flight of WGF]
The first flight from the WGF landed and the seven teams disembarked and ran for the clue box. Relm was the first to grab the clue.
"Who is sneaky?" she read. "That's probably me. I'll do it."

Tifa looked to Paine. "Whatcha think? Me or you?"
"You," Paine responded. "I hate this kinda stuff."

"It's all yours," Auron said to Jecht.
"Finally. I was getting bored just sitting on that blimp thing. I hope I get to beat something up again."

"I can do it!" Steiner said to Beatrix.
"With that noisy armor on? You're hardly sneaky. I'll do this one, and you can have the next roadblock."
Steiner frowned, but agreed.

"I think I should do it ya know?" Raijin said to Fujin.
"FINE," she responded.

"Move aside, this one's mine," Amarant said to Lani.
"Fat chance!" she yelled back at him. "You got the last one, so it's my turn! Besides, sneaking isn't exactly your thing, and it's so mine! Back off."

"Here we are again," Rinoa said. "It's a roadblock, and therefore you have to do it."
"I know," Squall said.

"Whoa whoa, wait a minute," Tifa said to everybody before they started searching for merchants. "I think if we all were to form a quick alliance we can all be safe this round. I counted the remaining clues in the box, and Rufus and President Shinra haven't been here yet. If we all try to take the male merchants' outfits, it'll force Rufus to take a female merchant's clothes, and he's not exactly going to do that without making absolutely sure he has to."
"How do you know that?" Steiner asked.
"He's embarrassed about letting the general public see him even cry, I think a televised show featuring him in drag would probably throw him off a bit."
"Works for me," Lani said.
All the people completing the roadblock set off around the town in search of a merchant's clothes.
