AN: I am truly sorry to the ones who have been waiting (maybe?) since last year particularly those who have reviewed such as DonPJuan, InkMystic, Lemarteskun, 55, BR0TH3R MENACE, and many others. I am using a school laptop that I lose over the summer so I lost all of my work on chapters 4-6 leaving me to giving up on the story. I decided to revive it this morning though so I'll do my best to make the most out of it. So once again I am truly sorry. If you have any suggestions or anything you want me to add in that I could incorporate then PM me and I'll message back.

What Happened to Me?!

The next day Naruto woke up to the birds chirping at his windowsill. He got up and stretched leisurely before walking downstairs.

"Ohayo" he murmured to Tsunami who was making breakfast for them.

"Ohayo. How did you sleep?" She replied without looking up.

"I slept well thank you. And you?"

"Oh I'm good too. I'm making rice balls with fish that Inari caught yesterday, is that okay?" she finally looked up as she said that.

"That's perfect thank you. I'll set the table for you." Naruto then turned around and went to gather the plates and chopsticks, finding them in the same place as they were when he had come on his mission to protect Tazuna. Fifteen minutes later, as Naruto was chatting with Tsunami, Inari and his grandpa walked down the steps and settled around the table.

"Ohayo!" Inari all but screamed at Naruto as well as to his mom.

"Hello to you too," Naruto replied as he brought the food to the table with the dark haired woman following him.

"What's your plan for today, Naruto?" Asked Tazuna.

"I'm planning on finding a mask maker so that people won't recognize me as I walk in the streets. I'll also have to find a place to train as well. Maybe find a blacksmith; I've always been biased towards sharp weapons." He added the last part sheepishly.

"If you want, I can show you to a store close by when I'll go to work. They sell masks and can custom make them as well. In the blacksmith area though… You might have to leave town for these sorts of things. Our village is still recovering and so we haven't had a need for a blacksmith. I hear there's a good one in the town over though."

"That'd be great, thanks!" Naruto responded.

Tazuna and Naruto were walking down the streets and our blond ninja couldn't help but notice that they were significantly better and there were much less people in them.

'Thank god we got rid of that bastard.' He mused silently.

He was brought out of his thoughts when Tazuna stopped abruptly in front of a brand new shop.

'Was probably created when Gato was ousted.'

Naruto followed the old man to the entrance where they were greeted by the owner.

"How can I help you today?"

"My friend here is looking for a mask," Tazuna said, indicating Naruto.

"Of course follow me." With that, he walked with the two others trailing behind him.

They reached the mask section where they saw a wide variety, from cloth masks that would hide part of your face, to masks that would completely cover your face with a slew of different motifs.

"I'll leave you here to look, when you have found what you are looking for, come find me at the counter."

Naruto and Tazuna were left looking at the masks when Naruto spotted one on the side with the sigil for dragon under the right eye and darkness under the left. He picked it up and put it up to his face to see if it would fit him, and surprisingly it did.

As they walked back to the counter with the mask in hand, Naruto remembered that he had no money of his own and turned to Tazuna.

"Hey old man?"

"Yeah?"

"I don't have any money on me. I had no money of my own and I was banished before getting paid for my mission."

"That's okay, I'll pay for you."

"Thank you! I'll be sure to repay you for this."

After buying the mask, he put it in a bag slung over his shoulder and walked back to the house. He found Tsunami there, sipping tea while seemingly relaxing on the porch.

"Hi I'm back"

"Welcome back, did you find what you wanted?"

"Yeah I did. I'm going training so I probably won't be back until dinner time. Just thought I should let you know."

"All right, see you later then."

Naruto then deposited his mask in his room before walking out and immediately taking to the trees. He found his way to the large expanse of land he had created when he was last here, after getting pissed off at Sasuke. He took off his bag and searched through it to find the chakra paper he had stolen a while back from a shop vendor.

'Better try it out then.' Naruto thought before putting it in his hand and channeling chakra into it.

The paper instantly turned pitch black before bursting into white-hot flames and burning away completely.

'I guess that means that I have a strong fire affinity but what was the other one? I've never heard of a dark/shadow element other than the Nara bloodline limit. Unbeknownst to him, his chakra, having finally been gone from Konoha had broken free from seals that were placed on him at birth by the Sandaime that bound his chakra. His chakra flared out, burning away at the plants surrounding him and creating a bright light from him. He all of a sudden fell backwards, as he lost consciousness.

Naruto woke up a few hours later with only his pants on, his top having burned away. He also felt like his chakra was free to do whatever he wanted it to. He tried out the Kage Bunshin Jutsu and more than twice the usual amount appeared, rounding up to 200 clones that were battle-ready. Shocked as he was, he did not miss the added marks on his arms and hands. On arms and hands were markings that looked like seals that went from his shoulders to his middle finger knuckle. He was unable to make heads from tail of those markings and stopped trying to figure them out until he noticed that the Kanji for Dragon on his chest.

He got up and tried to jump back onto the trees when he saw that his muscles couldn't take the strain and he suddenly felt off balance. He used a Henge to hide the tattoos he had on his chest and arms and started his slow trek back to Tazuna's home. When he finally arrived, Tsunami was in the middle of setting the table. She looked up and her cheeks had the hint of a blush when she looked away and continued her task. Inari on the other hand, wasn't as discrete and voiced his surprise.

"Nii-san! What happened to your clothes? And what happened to you? You look taller! And more muscled!"

Naruto then looked down and saw that he didn't look as malnourished as before, his ribs were definitely less prominent, and he noticed that he was now at least two to three inches taller than Tsunami, compared to the one and a half that he was this morning.

"I don't know man. But I got another surprise for you."

Naruto released his henge at the same time that Tazuna walked in behind him and the tattoos reappeared on his arms and chest. Inari was looking on in wander while Tazuna was so surprised he let his bottle of booze slip from his grasp.

"Na-Naruto? How did you get these markings?!" Tazuna barked out. He was abruptly filled with memories of his father who lived in Uzu no Kuni, the Land of Whirlpools.

'Our leader has the strangest markings on his arms', he would go on and on about, 'but his defining quality was the pair of wings that were on his back. They were special for they weren't a gimmick, they were tattoos, no, seals, that would be able to actually produce wings capable of flight. All of the royal family had those.'

"Why, what's the matter?" Naruto asked to the distraught old man.

Tsunami helped her father reach his seat and waited for everyone to get seated when he finally answered.

"Those marking you have are very unique."

"Why? What's so important about them?"

"Those… are the markings of the royal family line of Uzu no Kuni." Tazuna said after a sigh.

Naruto sat rigidly on his seat.

'Really? I'm related to the royal family?' he thought to himself.

"What? How is this possible? I'm an orphan!" The ninja exclaimed.

"I definitely recognize them kiddo, my father kept telling me stories about them and back when the Land of Waves was part of the Land of Whirlpool, the king would often come here to spend time a bit away from it all. Even if you did somehow manage to recreate those seals on your arms, the wings on your back definitely mark you as one of them."

"What wings?" Naruto asked, unconsciously channeling chakra to the seals on his back, releasing red, leathery wings that resembled those of dragons from books he read or pictures he saw. With that he abruptly cut off the chakra but the wings stayed.

"AH! What am I going to do! I've got freaking wings!" Naruto screamed while jumping around trying to examine his wings as well as try to hide them.

Tsunami and Inari started to laugh when Naruto turned to them and sat back down.

"Calm down, try and find a way to put them away using your chakra." Tazuna advised him, with his eyes dancing with mirth.

Naruto put his hands in the seal of the ram and closed his eyes. He channeled a small amount of chakra to his wings and this time the wings did disappear. He sighed in relief while Tazuna finally left out a laugh, soon followed by Tsunami and Inari who had been trying to grab a hold of the wings the whole time.

"Why don't we eat now and go to bed? We'll tackle this tomorrow alright?"

Naruto nodded once and quickly turned to the table and started to talk to them about his recent actions in Konoha as well as asking them about theirs in the Land of Waves.
