I awoke to strong arms around me and long fingers wiping away my tears. Neither of us said a word; we just appreciated the others' company. I suddenly felt awkward and undesirable. I couldn't understand why James would want to be with me when I was like this. "Why?" I whispered barely even audibly. With a small smile, James answered me. "Because I believe in you, Lily Flower." He softly kissed my hair and hugged me tighter to his warm body, making me feel safe and alive, like the world couldn't touch me. I wanted James to be mine forever.
