Authors Note: This was inspired by watching YouTube couple breakup videos. Basically, a broken up Quintana see each other for the first time after their breakup.

There's a tension neither of you want to acknowledge. But, it's there.

She kisses your cheek briefly in greeting as she makes her rounds.

"Hey." She says, once she pulls back and it's so simple now. The clarity washes over you and it's plain as day.

You love her. Always have. Always will.

"Hi." You find yourself saying. It comes out quiet because you don't trust your voice saying anything else. Not now. Not this soon. Not with everyone around.

"How've you been?" She ask sincerely. Her eyes are patient, waiting for you to answer.

"Good." You say. "You?"

She pauses, taking in the question, preparing to answer with honesty. "I've been okay."

"You look good." You find yourself saying, as your eyes rove over her frame. The simple sleeveless black dress compliments her body well.

As predicted she smiles at your admission.

Even though it's been three months since your break up and two since you've last seen her, you still know her. Always have. Always will.

"See you around, Q." She says. You nod, knowing whatever this is, is nowhere near over.

"What. Was. That?" Mercedes says sitting down beside you.

You shrug.

"Don't try to shrug it off. That was intense."

"That was nothing." You insist to the rolling of Mercedes eyes.

It's in fact not nothing. You know this. Santana knows this. Hell, Mercedes and all your friends know.

Later, you find her in the kitchen, perusing the array of liquor in the counter.

Without saying anything you grab the Seagrams Seven Crown and a 7 Up from the counter closest to you.

You feel her eyes on you as you mix her favorite drink.

When you look up, she's biting her lip. She wants to say more but the ball is still in your court. It's up to you.

Your hands touch when you hand her the cup.

"Wanna go somewhere, more...private?"

She smiles with a nod and you're glad.

The night air is chilly on the balcony of the apartment and you're thankful for the opportunity.

You remove your cardigan and place it around her shoulders. She smiles the shy smile of hers up at you. The one so few people see. The one you like to believe is reserved just for you.

"Thanks, Q." She says leaning against the rail.

The silence settles around the two of you and you take a couple deep breaths. Wanting to get whatever you say next right.

"I've been thinking about you." She says, taking you by surprise. "A lot lately."

"Me too."

"Q. I don't-. I-. Shit. I didn't think this would be this hard."

"What?"

You watch as her shoulders rise and fall.

"I miss you." She says looking directly into your eyes. "It's as simple as that, Q. That and the fact that I love you and I could search the entire earth and still-. Shit, babe, are you crying?"

Surely, you are and didn't even realize it. She invades your space, wiping your tears.

"I missed you too." You manage to say before pressing your lips to hers.

You love her. Always have. Always will.
