Chapter 4

Katarina's face was burried into the raven haired man's chest as she tried to calm herself. 'This is ridiculous. How foolish of me to cry over a dream such as that.' She slowed her breathing as she recalled the rather embarrising dream that she had awoken from moments ago.

Kat was in Sebastian's arms as he ran through the woods. To Kat, it was all a blur of colours and sounds considering how fast they were moving. After a few minutes, the pair had reached a decrepid looking garden surrounding a small stone court yard which had a stone bench sitting in the center of it. Sebastian walked over to the bench and gently sat the young lady down on it. The Countess looked around breifly before meeting the demon's glowing pink eyes.

"Now, my Lady," Sebastian whispered as he lowered himself onto one knee in front of the beautiful red head. Kat understood what was about to happen, she knew that Sebastian had kept his end of the contract, and now it was time for Kat to keep hers. Sebastian had taken her hands in his and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her knuckles. He leaned forward and with a gentle pull, her eye patch was off and floating to the ground. The contract mark was revealed and began to glow a bright purple, similar to the mark on the back of Sebastian's hand. Once realizing that the young woman was no longer looking at him, he followed her gaze to a patch of tiger lillies. Sebastian looked back at his contractor, she seemed to almost be in a sort of trance. Lillies had always been her favorite flower.

In the blink of an eye, Sebastian had dashed over to the bright orange flowers plucking a few of them and returned to the bright eyed girl. Her face remained neutral, giving nothing away to the emotions that were truly cycling through her head. She wasn't afraid of death, but she was afraid of losing the butler that she had grown to love. As Kat tried to sort through her thoughts, Sebastian had weaved one of the large lillies through her deep red hair. She looked beautiful with her deep red hair framing her pale face and vivid green eyes. Realzing that he was losing himself in his thoughts, he shook his head slightly and sat next to her. Kat was biting her lip and her face had turned red with frustration. She didn't want things to end without understanding how she felt towards this creature.

Without warning, Sebastian grabbed Katarina's chin with his thumb and pointer finger, forcing the young lady to snap back to attention and to look into the demon's eyes.

"Bite that lip any harder and it is sure to fall off, my dear." Sebastian scolded as he tugged at her chin, forcing her to release her now bleeding lip. Kat could feel a thick stream of blood run down her chin and drip off onto her inner wrist. As she reached up to wipe it away, Sebastian grabbed her hand, viewing the blood on her wrist. Gently, he turned her wrist towards his mouth and licked the small pool of blood away. His eyes were glowing once again as he leaned into Kat. She closed her eyes as the demon trailed his tongue from chin to the wound on her bottom lip. His breath was hot and heavy, matching her own. When he had finished cleaning up the blood, he pressed his forehead against hers.

Kat hadn't even felt the pain of her teeth sinking into her soft flesh. 'That's odd, why doesn't it hurt?' She ran her tongue across her lip, not even feeling where she ahd bit herself at.

"My sweet, sweet Katarina." Kat's eyes widened at the informality that Sebastian addressed her with. He had never called her by her name before, it was refreshing to say the least. She felt as if she could sit for hours and be satisfied enough just to hear Sebastian say her name.

"I believe you know what must come next." His emotions had betrayed him as his voice cracked, threatening to give away to tears. Kat noticed it, but didn't react to it in the slightest. How would she react? There was nothing that she could do at this point. Katarina shook her head in understanding and closed her eyes, waiting for him to take her away. Sebastian leaned in, closing his eyes, and placed his open mouth on hers. Kat began to shake slightly as her world began to turn black. She could feel the demon's tongue explore her mouth as he devoured her soul. Without thinking, she moved her tongue and locked it with Sebastian's, tasting her blood slightly. Just before the end, Kat squeezed his thigh and gently released it as her last memory disappeared.

Sebastian gently pulled away and stood up. He lifted her up and carried her with him for miles. By the time Sebastian had reached the Undertaker's place, his face was soaked with hot tears. He dropped to his knees and hugged her lifeless body tightly.

And that had been when Kat woke up. Sebastian looked down at the very red faced girl and smirked. 'I suppose it wasn't just any dream. Maybe not a nightmare at all.' Now he was very curious as to what exactly her dream had been about. As he was about to question the young woman further, she pushed him away and yelled at him to leave. Sebastian stared at the Countess wide eyed for a brief moment before standing up, bowing, and exiting the room closing the door behind him. It was very rare that she acted in such a manner.

Sebastian placed his ear against the door and listened to the ranting woman. "How could I dream of something so inappropriate?! It makes no sense as to why a silly dream about that demon upset me! We made a contract, I know that one day, my soul will be his. No no no... that's not what upset me... It can't be. There's no way that I could possibly love..." His eyes widened slightly at her words.

'Did she say 'love' and 'demon' in the same sentence?..' Sebastian thought as he tiptoed away from the door. 'She had a dream about me devouring her soul then. But that doesn't explain her ranting after she asked me to leave. What was this 'love' business about.' Sebastian could feel a slight fluttering in his chest. Reaching the door to his room, he placed a hand on the knob and turned it, gently opening the door. Sebastian looked down at a beautiful black kitten that greeted him, biting at his shoe laces as he entered.

He reached down and picked up the little ball of fluff, "Well, it would seem that i have a bit of investigating to do starting tomorrow." A wicked grin formed on his lips as Sebastian shut the door behind him and prepared for the next day.
