A/N: Sorry in advance for the chapter. I want to write it, but I don't have a clue about where this is going yet. REVIEW!

Yet throughout all the wars

I've fought in my mind

your eyes are the only refuge I find

"Excuse me," I murmur over and over, trying to get through the crowd. So annoying. All they seem to be doing is asking me questions about Finnick's and mine relationship.

"Are you two sexually involved?"

"Do you love him?"

"Has he proposed?"

"What's he like in bed?"

"Does he love you?"

"What would you rate him for looks?"

"Is he nice?"

"Is he tutoring you for mentoring?"

Really? Two questions about sex? I feel like that is all they care about. I eventually get so irritated that my head feels like it is going to explode or burst into flames. My tongue seems to move by itself, "MOVE! NOW! I AM TRYING TO MAKE IT TO A DATE WITH FINN ON TIME AND YOU GUYS ARE IN MY WAY! I WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS LATER, NOW MOVE AWAY!"

It works. I guess I must look terrifying when I am angry because they just stared at me and when I finished talking they ran away. Good God. We decided not to go to a restaurant today. It was so busy there yesterday and we both just want fresh air. Why does the Capitol have a park when no one uses it? I question myself as I walk through the gates.

When I look up from my feet, I gasp. It's beautiful. Flowers and buds cover trees, which are everywhere. The scent is…intoxicating, but in a good way. Nowhere near Snow's roses. Flowers line the gates surrounding the park. There are benches all over, but I spot Finnick on a bench strategically placed under a canopy of pink trees. My face breaks out in a smile when I see him sitting there all alone, in a tux, looking like he is in a different world. My pace quickens toward him. I dressed in a yellow lacey dress with combat boots. Well, I didn't dress in it, Cinna picked it out. My prep team curled my hair and did my makeup naturally.

I hear shuffling behind me, but I don't bother to look behind me, that would mean to take my gaze away from this beautiful creature that I am not next to yet. I eventually can't stand being away from him any longer. I quicken my pace to almost a run. I quietly sit down next to Finnick. Before I look at him or draw him out of his stupor, I take the chance to look around and make sure no one else is here. Nope, I don't see anyone here.

When I turn back to Finnick, he is already looking at me, smiling. "Hey." I say.

"Hey," He looks nervous, almost ready to jump off his seat and run and hide.

"What's wrong? You look nervous?" I say, hopefully to make him more comfortable.

He pulls me closer to me and kisses me softly. He tastes of sugar and his lips are so soft. He pulls away, somehow not gasping for breath as I am, and whispers in my ear, "What I am about to do is something I mean and would've wanted to do later on under different circumstances." Then he pulls away.

I keep the confusion from covering my face, wanting to enjoy this moment. But I can't stop the gasp from escaping when he goes down to one knee. He grabs my hands in his and just looks in my eyes for a while. Then he lets go of my hands and reaches into his pocket. He pulls out a little box and opens it for me to see. I can't even stop the tears from flowing down my face. The ring is cut into threes that connect at the back of my finger. The two outside ones are silver and meet in the middle with the inside one, which is gold. The sides of both are covered in little diamonds the go all the way to the bigger diamond, which isn't too big nor too small.

"Katniss, from the day I saw you I knew you were special. When you volunteered for your sister to save her, not caring if you came back alive, but making sure she wouldn't die. Then during the games you did everything to keep Peeta alive. You acted as if you were in love with him. I knew it was an act because I understood you. But you did everything to get him out because you care about people. It doesn't take long for you to start caring for them. You would sacrifice your life for someone you care about. That's one of the reasons I love you." He takes a deep breath and continues.

"You don't let people get to you. You won't let them throw you around. You are strong, mentally and physically. But you also have a soft side and you only show certain people that side. I want to be in that group. I wanna see all sides of you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to be the one you run to when you are down. I want to be the one you love with all your heart and when we are apart that it feels like your heart is cut in two. I want to do everything with you. I want to have a family with you. I love you so much, Katniss. If you would do me the honor of being my wife I would be overjoyed. Katniss, will you marry me?"

I feel the tears come down harder and faster. I nod over and over frantically. "Yes!" It feels like that one word is the key to all happiness in the world. Finnick looks worried that I am crying and I don't think he knows what to do to help me. He gets up off of his knee and sits down on the bench. I lean into him seeking his warmth even though it is Spring. He pulls me into his lap and wraps his arms around me. When I lean back into him, he whispers something, but I don't hear it.

"What?" I whisper.

"I said, I love you." He whispers back.

"Where is the press? Shouldn't they be filming this?"

"They are." He points to a smallish camera in the bush, without any person holding it.

"Hello Katniss and Finnick!" A familiar voice with a Capitol accent speaks through the camera. I look around the park, searching for the person with the voice. "Down here, Katniss. Caesar here, speaking through the camera. I am so glad we got this put in here! We got the whole proposal on tape!"

I plaster a fake smile for the cameras on my face, not that I am not happy, but the camera just reminds me I am in the Capitol and I had been frowning.

"Sorry to interrupt the moment, but I need an interview from you guys. Do you agree?" It's not really a question. If we denied the interview Snow wouldn't be very happy.

I notice Finnick is looking at me for an answer, so I nod. "Go ahead, Caesar. I've been waiting for someone to ask me for an interview. I mean I am a victor, right?" He says, with the complete seduction creeping back into his tone of voice.

"Finnick, I missed you. I haven't seen you in forever. I can't believe no one has asked you for an interview! But I am going to start the interview off with Katniss." I gulp, hopefully unnoticeably. "What made you lose your cool here?" He gestures to a screen playing my outburst at the press.

"Well, Caesar, I was trying to get to Finnick here and they were in my way." I say with a huge smile on my face, so huge that my lips feel like they are going to split any second. "I didn't want to be late to my date with my Finn here."

"Yeah, I can see that. I mean I guess we can understand why. You got proposed to and you get to sit on his lap. Who would pass up that offer?" I had forgotten I was in Finnick's lap, so when Caesar mentions it I blush deep crimson.

Finnick's face breaks out into a huge smile – a mischievous one at that. I start getting off his lap, not wanting to experience whatever he is going to do to me, but I am not fast enough. That's when he starts tickling my sides. I can't help myself when I enter a spree of giggles.

"Stop! Finn, stop tickling me! Finn…" He doesn't listen to me, so I decide to take manners into my own hands. I turn so I can face Finnick. He doesn't stop tickling me the whole time I turn. When I finally turn around all the way, I place my legs one on each side of his waist. I lean really close to his face. I brush my lips against his, successfully making him stop tickling me. His arms wrap around my waist and mine fly to his neck. He pulls my head closer to his, locking our lips together. I don't know how it happens, but we get really into the kiss.

"Uh-hem," Caesar says. I inwardly groan, I was having a good time with that kiss. "Should we come back later?"

I break away from the kiss and turn towards the camera, not before staring into Finnick's eyes. That was good. I felt something. Like a stirring in my stomach. He looks to be thinking the same thing.

"Sorry to break you two lovebirds up, but we need to finish this interview. So for both of you, when is your wedding?"

I look to Finnick and find him already looking at me. I shrug, "We don't really know."

"Okay, folks! That's all we have time for today!"

Finnick and I wave goodbye to the camera. The camera finally shrinks back and leaves.

No, you couldn't have felt anything. You don't love Finnick. You care for Peeta. Peeta…but he is dead. Gone. Never coming back. Dead. Gone.

"UGH!" I scream.

There's a knock on the bathroom door, "What's wrong, Katniss?"

I step out of the shower, wrap a towel around my body, and open the door. I don't think Finnick can help himself when he looks up and down my body. WHAT IS GOING ON? He is suddenly in the bathroom, closing the door behind him. I am now pressed up against the wall and he is kissing me, passionately. I place my hands on his bare chest and push him away. "What are you doing?"

"Kissing my fiancée."

"Why so passionately?"

"I told you I meant those things I said in the park. Plus you have you to be pregnant in 2 months. Why not start trying now?"

"Because Finn. What are you talking about?"

"The phone call with Snow. You can't just be pregnant if you put it in your mind that you want to be pregnant. You have to try for the baby."

"Let's go then."

"Hello, my name is Johanna Mason. I'm from District 7." She says as I shake her hand.

"Victor?" She nods. She has dark hair – brown – and brown eyes and is really pretty. She also smells like the woods, reminding me how much I miss them. But now that I think about it, District 7 is lumber so of course she smells like the woods. Does Snow sell her?

"To answer your silent question," Johanna says. "Yes, President Snow tried to sell me."

"Tried?"

"I denied. When he said he would kill my family, I thought he was bluffing. How wrong I was. But he has no way to sell me now. They can't hurt me, there's no one left I love."

"I'm sorry." I say, wishing there was more I could say.

"Me too. Congratulations on your engagement, you two." She says, gesturing towards me and Finnick, making us both blush. Then she hugs me and whispers in my ear, "Finn helped me after my family died, tutoring for mentoring and stuff. We're good friends. After you fell asleep the night Snow called, he called me and told me. I can tell just by looking at you two that you tried for one of those demands last night – not just the marriage. Come with me and I will help you find out if you made it." She lets me go and leads me to the bathroom on the District 7 level, where we were visiting her. She opens a cupboard under the sink and pulls out a little box.

"Pregnancy tests. Bring them to your level and the day after your attempts pee on them. I'll leave you to try one now in just a second. The only reason I have them is because Cashmere, District 1 victor, is sold also and is really sweet and visits often and needs to make sure her birth control pills and other protection are working. I'll go buy more so you don't have to buy them because if someone sees you buying them they will automatically come to conclusions."

She exits the room, shutting the door behind her. I follow her directions to pee on the stick. I check the stick, then check the box to make sure I am correct in what the symbol means. And I am correct.

I am pregnant.

A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger type thing. Please remember to review! I love you all!
