SeeU ducked her head from the kitchen when she heard the door open. Tianyi entered, a lot earlier than SeeU'd thought she'd be. "Hi. You're here early. Did the library close or something?"
Tianyi seemed to consider this before merely replying, "No. It's too loud in there. I can't study." Stuffing her hands into her bag, she pulled out a Japanese History book and said, "I'm going to change and study in my room. Where's Mayu?"
"She went to Oxtail's to get her axes sharpened. She didn't take all of them this time, so it should only take about two hours." SeeU went back into the kitchen and opened the fridge. The sound of a door close echoed throughout the house, and SeeU chuckled to herself. Her lie detector was flashing the whole time. It wasn't because of noise that bothered Tianyi. Besides, they had the amazing ability to mute out all sounds, so it wasn't as if Tianyi would have much trouble.
The fridge was… well… remarkably empty. SeeU sighed. She'd have to go grocery shopping… Like right now. Closing the fridge, something jerked at the edge of her vision. Turning her head around, she spotted the window and rolled it open, looking around. A small slip of red disappeared in the corner, and she curiously stared at where it previously had been. Odd. Her vision usually wasn't this strange. The flash of color had disappeared too fast before her database could identify it. Probably a cat or something. Closing the window, SeeU picked up her bag and yelled, "I'm going grocery shopping, so you'll be alone for a while, alright?"
Tianyi shouted something back, and SeeU left. The market was humming and filled with food scents. SeeU pulled her hair back into a ponytail and searched around the market, checking off things mentally as she went.
Alright, we only have meat left; SeeU went over to the meat section, inspecting it. Lamb…? No, lamb is too fancy. We have to seem like regular people.
"HEY SEEU~!" Gasping, SeeU reeled back from the meat when Mayu's cheery voice came from a PM. "They finished sharpening like, half! So I'll be back in like, an hour when they get the other half finished~" The PM cut off as abruptly as it had started, and SeeU sighed. Usually she wouldn't be surprised, but this emotion 'mission' thing was really starting to take a toll on her mental health. Or so she liked to think.
"Oh? Fancy meeting you here," A voice startled her out of her thoughts and she turned around to see Haruhi Fujioka. "Eh… Han Shiyuno-san?"
SeeU nodded. "Ah, yes. Fujioka Haruhi, correct?"
Haruhi nodded. "Yep. Are you here by yourself?" When SeeU nodded, Haruhi opened her mouth like she was going to say something, but someone interrupted her.
"Haru-chan, I'm so hungry. Buy me… Oh. Hi." A short, blond boy holding a pink bunny looked up at her with sparkly eyes. "Haven't I seen you before?"
"Haruhi, I - !" Another voice, this time one of Tamaki Suoh cut off as he caught sight of her. His eyes widened a good three centimeters as he suddenly grabbed on to Haruhi, cowering. "It's you!" SeeU chuckled sheepishly.
"…? What's wrong, Senpai?" Haruhi looked at Tamaki, and then at SeeU. She gave Haruhi a placid smile, and then said, "Perhaps I should be going?"
"You're with that Tora girl, right? Tailless dragon?!" Tamaki dramatically pointed an accusing finger at her, and SeeU frowned. What? Tailless dragon?
"Excuse me?" SeeU looked at him.
"That witch and you…!"
"You're the tailless dragon?" Yet another voice. Geez, was the entire Host Club here? SeeU thought. When the Hiitachin twins appeared with Kyoya Ootori and Takashi Morinozuka, her suspicions were proved correct. The one who had spoken, Kaoru Hiitachin, raised an eyebrow cockily. "The one who tried to burn the Lord to a crisp with her master, the man-eating witch?"
SeeU's expression must've been funny, because the twins burst out laughing. She tried to comprehend their words, but it wasn't making a whole lot of sense. "A… tailless dragon?"
"Just another one of the Lord's fanatical tales," Hikaru slapped Tamaki's shoulder playfully. "Unless you are a tailless dragon." SeeU glanced down at herself, and replied,
"Pretty sure I'm not a dragon. I don't have a tail, so I guess the tailless part works though. Definitely not dragon."
"B-but you and that axe-woman…"
SeeU forced herself to stay calm. Her nervous reactors were causing a brief, uncomfortable sensation to shiver throughout her body, and she said calmly, "Are you alright? I don't think I've seen any axes today." Then she turned to Haruhi and asked, "Is he okay?"
Haruhi shrugged. "Probably. He's been blabbing about the witch and tailless dragon all day. That reminds me, are you friends with Lei Tora?" SeeU's database flashed with Tianyi's picture on it, but she disregarded it – she knew that already. SeeU'd have to get her inner workings fixed someday for that.
"Uh… Yes. Why?" SeeU knew what was coming. She had left Tianyi in there after all, and the girl – err, robot – seemed slightly unsettled when she had come back, noticeably later that SeeU would have thought it to take.
"She was apologizing for something to this dimwit here. What was it for?"
"I'm telling you, the witch tried to kill me!" Tamaki Suoh relentlessly argued, his eyes darting nervously from Haruhi to her. SeeU didn't need her database to know true fear reflected in his eyes. Being a rich boy, he probably didn't experience axes to his throat very often. But then again, who did?
"Ah… I don't know. You'd have to ask her."
"Oh. I see. Did you come in the room earlier?" Haruhi asked. The Host Club members had floated away by now, intrigued by the 'commoner food', save for Tamaki and the twins, who both seemed vaguely interested in the topic.
SeeU's database frantically searched for an answer before she hesitantly replied, "Yes… It was to get Tia – ah – Tora. But she was busy… apologizing." When Tamaki Suoh opened his mouth to argue, she mustered up her strength and shot him a deathly glare. Haruhi didn't seem to notice, but the Hiitachin twins did. They cocked their heads at her, suddenly interested.
The Vocaloid shifted, uncomfortable with their curious stares. She gave them a sheepish chuckle, and grabbed a package of whatever meat was in the cooler, and said, "Eheh…. I better be going. Have a nice day,"
Haruhi nodded, smiling faintly. "Have a nice day to you too."
SeeU hurriedly paid for her food, aware of the Hiitachin twins' eyes burning into her back. It was unsettling. Hopefully they'd keep their mouths shut. They seemed the type to do so in such situations. Maybe. She shuffled back to her house, thinking. What was that whole tailless dragon and man-eating witch spiel about? It was probably something Tianyi said. She'd have to remember to ask the Chinese Vocaloid later.
The house was ice cold and deathly quiet when she came in. Mayu was on the couch, an axe snuggled into her robotic arm (A human would bleed under these occasions, her database told her, even though it was obvious) and Tianyi must've still been in her room. "Hi. When did you come back?"
"A couple minutes ago. Tianyi told me you were out shopping. It's been an hour, did you like, what, walk or something?"
"Yes. I also saw those Host Club boys at the market."
"Ah." Mayu turned her attention back to the TV, and SeeU headed towards the kitchen. After they had eaten dinner, SeeU worked on her miles of homework (With admittedly a lot of help from the net and her databank) and finally plopped down on her bed. Taking off her cat-ear speakerphone headband, she changed into her pajamas and settled herself in her bed. It was well past two in the morning, and to her knowledge Mayu was still up doing her homework.
Just as SeeU closed her eyes to sleep, a small voice drifted through her room. It wasn't Tianyi's or Mayu's voice, or even hers. It was male. She jerked upright, careful to be quiet, and scanned the room. Her database pinpointed towards the heater embedded on the floor, and she crept towards it. Her wiring increased the volume, and suddenly the voices were clear in her head.
"Are you sure this is where the Vocaloids are? If you're mistaken, and we're intruding into some girl's house, I'm going to kill you," A voice said nastily. Her eyes widened when he said Vocaloid, and she quickly adjusted it louder.
"No, I'm sure. Saw the Korean one earlier today. What was her name? SeeU? Yeah, saw her. I'm positive, man."
"Alright then. Take that stupid red jacket off. It's too noticeable."
Aha! So that's what she saw was this person's red jacket. So it wasn't a cat. Alarmingly listening to their brief conversation, SeeU managed to scrape together the idea of invading their house. When the voices stopped, SeeU sat back, baffled. What was this? How had they been found out?
At any rate, they couldn't stay like this. SeeU had to do something. Racing out of her room, she bumped into a very pissed Mayu, her eyes scrunching up with hatred. "Mayu - ?"
"I heard them. Those little shits," Mayu growled. She held up her left arm, which had an axe tightly held by her fingers. "Go get Tianyi. I'm not going to let anybody touch my friends. Nobody is going to watch them but me." Mayu smiled eerily, and SeeU crouched back.
Rushing to Tianyi's room, she found the Vocaloid sleeping. Shaking her awake, SeeU offered but a brief explanation before the voices were heard again. And this time, she didn't have to adjust her volume.
A/N: I feel like I owe you guys, so I updated both three and four today. Hopefully I can finish six and seven tomorrow, if I get the chance. I might have to wash my dog.
