The next day, the alarm clock was ringing so loud that Taylor woke up and threw some of the leftover polymer at it, turning it off. Of course Kyle was already awake and planning his day. "Well well, the fuckboy is awake." says Kyle jokingly. "Yeah and I'm still sore from last night." Taylor said with a groan. Kyle gave him a look and Taylor seeing this responds, "You know what I mean man...the dual!" Kyle chuckles at this. "Well you still need to get up, you got a class to teach." Kyle checked Taylor's aura levels to see that they were still low. "Here Taylor, take this." Kyle then gave Taylor an aura pill that he consumes without question.
"Thank god for aura pills, I doubt I'd be able to do anything today without them." said Taylor, his muscles relaxing back into place as he spoke. Taylor sat up and cracked his back before standing and stretching. "Ya know you could've told me they were doing that red tornado and saved yourself the pill." "Just to have you not learn from the experience? I did that for your benefit and also if I told you they would've known that I knew and done a different attack." Taylor shrugged in defeat.
" Yeah, I guess so but that still hurt like hell...and it made me extremely dizzy." Kyle grins at this, an idea coming to him. "How about we combine classes today Taylor? You bring your students over to my classroom and we can do something different." says Kyle. Taylor shrugs at this. "That'd make my day easier since i don't have anything planned for today." Ten minutes later, Kyle is in the middle of class when someone knocks on the door. "Ah, that must be our guests." Kyle walks over to the door and opens it letting in Taylor and his somewhat excited students.
"Now" says Kyle continuing his lesson " I've fought some of you for you to see where you could improve but today, all I ask you to do is observe." Kyle quickly draws his dust saber and switches it to fire dust whilst putting it into its pistol form and shooting Taylor square in the chest. Taylor gets up from the ground groaning. "What the hell was that for?!" yelled Taylor. Kyle's only response was firing more dust rounds at Taylor only for him to block the shots with his arm shield. "What class do I teach?" yells Kyle.
This made Taylor think as Kyle's students said the name of the course. Taylor then began to push forward, shield first, as Kyle continued shooting at him. Kyle seeing what Taylor is trying, uses his semblance to throw Taylor back to where he was before and shoots him again but this time in the back sending him flying through a wall. Weiss seeing this begins to laugh uncontrollably while everyone else winces in pain. Meanwhile, Taylor makes his shield again and rushes Kyle, but instead of just blocking the shots he absorbs the fire through his shield and into his body.
Kyle seeing a charging Taylor, jumps onto his desk and uses his semblance to lift himself into the air making Taylor run into the wall with a fire charged shield causing a mini-explosion. "Nice try Taylor but you gotta do better than that if you wanna hit me." After the smoke cleared out Taylor saw a schnee dust company logo on the floor by where Weiss was sitting. "Here's another perfect example of what NOT to do when fighting an advanced semblance user such as myself but Taylor also has a very unique ability besides his very clear stupidity."
Taylor know's Kyle is distracted by his teachings so he makes a break for Weiss's dust. When he takes the case Weiss yells out a complaint witch Taylor ignores and begins to absorb all of every dust vial in it. "This is getting good." Kyle thinks to himself with a slight smile. Taylor's entire being begins to glow red as he channel's fire dust throughout his whole body causing Blake to slowly hide herself under the desk. "Everyone might want to take cover for this." she says. Everyone does as she says and gets under the desk, everyone except Weiss.
"You are in big trouble mister, you just stole from my father's company and" Weiss was cut off by being saved from a flaming ice ball almost hitting her in the face by her teammate, Yang Xaio Long. Back to the fight, Taylor was trying his hardest to get the jump on Kyle. Taylor then summoned a fire battle axe to one hand and a lightning shield to the other arm and swung at Kyle with all of his might only for him to easily move out of the way allowing Kyle to switch his saber back to its blade form with ice mode and hit Taylor in the neck freezing him and lowering his aura to ten percent. Kyle sighed at this and unfroze Taylor with fire dust from his saber. "Do you yield?" asked Kyle knowingly.
Taylor looked up at Kyle smiling, "Well that was fun." Taylor chuckled. Kyle grinned back and helped his defeated friend back to his feet. The bell rings letting everyone know class is over. Blake walks over to Taylor concerned, "Taylor, are you ok?" Taylor takes an aura pill before speaking, " Yeah I'm fine Blake...Kyle, you know it was dirty of you to attack me out of nowhere right?" Kyle shrugs at this "Yeah but I got my point across didn't I?" "Wait...That wasn't planned?" Blake asks confused. "I planned it but I didn't tell Taylor, I just asked him if he wanted to combine class for today and he agreed." While the three talked Weiss had recovered from her near death experience and was still pissed. "Excuse me, there's still the issue of him stealing my dust!" Kyle and Taylor looked at each other and back to Weiss.
"Alright Weiss, how about this...you get me dust and you get extra credit out of it." Taylor said cooly. Weiss wanted to argue but the thought of getting extra credit was appealing to her. "F-fine but you still stole THAT dust from me." Taylor sighs at this and hands her the money needed to buy that much schnee dust. "Wh-what's this?" questions Weiss. "It's lien...I'm paying you for dust I took this time but from now on you'll get extra credit alright?" "You know, you're nothing like what I thought you were." said Weiss "Oh no heiress, I'm everything you thought I am...but I'm also more." says Taylor with a smile.
"You girls should get going" says Kyle "you're going to be late for your next class." Blake and Weiss said their goodbye's, Blake hugging Taylor, and left the classroom leaving Taylor and Kyle by themselves. "I've got to tell Cinder about this."says a peeping Emerald. "So how does it feel to have that much dust in you?" Asks Kyle. "It's weird...I'm wet, cold, hot, and getting shocked all at the same time. I don't know how else to explain it." says Taylor. "How's your control over the dust?" questions Kyle. "Well you saw some of it during the fight but there are other parts I can't figure out. When I absorbed the lighting dust I felt as if I had more energy...I still feel that way. It's like a tingling sensation all over me." as Taylor says this he summons a ball of electricity to his left hand and shows Kyle. Kyle looks at this puzzled. "Didn't you say you felt like a bag of bones when you absorbed some polymer?" Taylor reabsorbed the electricity and nods. "It may be possible you feel whatever you would feel if you were just touching something but the sensation goes throughout your entire body."
Meanwhile, Katrina was trying to gather her thoughts. "Hmmm, if Taylor knew who I really am that could work in my favor...but that black cat is going to be in my way." Katrina smiles at this. "Which is why she is going to leave him. After that he will be so heartbroken he will surly come to me after I reveal myself. It's a pity really, she's never really trusted anyone the way she trusts him." "What are you going to do about the other one?" asks a scarred Roman Torchwick. "Do you mean Kyle?"
Torchwick nods his head angrily at the mention of Kyle's name. Katrina chuckles at this, putting a hand softly on Torchwick's face "When the time comes" she says, "I'll deal with him myself."she says smiling. Then Katrina's face grows darker as she summons an obsidian dagger to her hand and puts it to Torchwicks's throat "Until then you should stay away if you value your life." Torchwick agrees and leaves the warehouse cursing under his breath. "You've done a good job today Emerald, keep this up and you may take my place someday." Emerald smiles at this before saying, " Thank you Cinder, your words are very kind."
Back to Kyle and Taylor, it was time for lunch at Beacon academy and the two were outside as Kyle wanted Taylor to try a few things with his semblance and the dust he absorbed. "Fire dust creates an explosion when hit right?" Taylor agrees with Kyle as he continues,"Maybe you could take the explosive properties of the fire dust and use it as a form of propulsion." "I don't know but I'll try." Taylor says. Obvious worry crossing his face, Taylor channels fire dust to his hands and feet shooting the dust downward causing Taylor to slowly begin to hover. After a few minutes of hovering, Taylor's hands begin to burn causing him to lose concentration and fall onto the cement sidewalk.
"Gah, fuck me that hurt." Taylor uses ice dust to create ice cubes into his hands to soothe the burns. Kyle stifles a laugh as he walk over to his friend. "I'll try to make something to help you prevent that from now on." Says Kyle still trying his hardest not to laugh. "You better, what else should I try?" questions Taylor. "Hmmm", Kyle thinks about this for a moment before speaking, what other weapons can you create with your semblance?" Taylor pauses a moment, an idea coming to mind. "Let me get a little bit more polymer, I have something I wanna try." Kyle agrees and hands Taylor a dust saber.
After a few moments of concentration, Taylor hands Kyle his weapon back grinning. "What did you do?" asks Kyle almost instantly regretting it. Taylor quickly throws his hands upwards revealing he had made Hidden Blades similar to ones from his favorite video game series, Assassin's Creed. Kyle facepalms at this, "Is that all you made? ""Of course it's not," says Taylor. ' says Taylor.""I also made a collapsible shield and a sword to go with them." says Taylor revealing the shrunken shield, no bigger than a watch, on his arm and a pirate style looking cutlass under his jacket.
Meanwhile inside Beacon's cafeteria, teams JNPR and RWBY were discussing Jaune's so called friendship with Cardin. "Besides, It's not like I'm the only one he treats that way, he does it to everyone." says Jaune as Cardin can be heard behind him. "See, I told you they were real." he says as he pulls on Velvet's ear. "Please stop." Velvet says as CRDL just laughs at her. Nora stands up, clenches her fists, and proclaims, "We'll break his legs!" About this time, Kyle and Taylor were walking past to get some food. Knowing what's going on, Taylor and Kyle walk over to opposite sides of the table. "I don't think that will be necessary Miss Valkyrie." says Taylor.
With a disappointed look crossing her face, Nora takes her seat as Kyle raises his hand and picks up Cardin with his semblance. "So Cardin you like to pick on people do you? Allow me to show you what happens when you pick on the wrong person." Kyle then raised his hand higher making Cardin go through the ceiling. As Cadin groaned in pain, Kyle slammed his fist on the table sending Cardin smashing into the ground. "Your all muscle, There's hardly any brain in that thick skull of yours.' Kyle scoffes at the downed Cardin. "You're not worth my time." Kyle says twisting his hand, throwing Cardin back to his table.
" , can we speak to you in private please?" asks Kyle "S-sure, yeah I'll be right behind you guys." Jaune says nervously. "So um, What's this about guys?" "Nothing serious", says Taylor. "Except the fact that we know about your fake transcript." Horror crossing his face, Jaune begins to panic. "What?! But how?!" Jaune practically screams. "Calm way down, we aren't going to tell Glynda or Ozpin about this because we know you are going to improve your combat skills." Says Kyle.
"However we also know about Cardin and THAT we are going to put an end to for you."
Jaune scratches his head, "How are you going to do that?" Taylor smiles at Kyle before talking some more. "I guess you could say Cardin and his team are going to feel the burn of a real fight." says Taylor creating fire in his right hand. "You're not going to kill him, are you?" questions Jaune. Taylor absorbs the fire back into his being prompting Kyle to talk again. "As much as I'm sure Taylor would love to, no. CRDL is just going to be a lot nicer to everyone after we're done with them." Taylor chuckles, nodding in agreement. " I still think we should do some more damage." Kyle rolles his eyes shaking his head disapprovingly. "I've already dealt some punishment for now. Come on, we need to eat before our next classes start. You know we have more than one group of students."
Later that day, a dejected Jaune and Pyrrha come onto a rooftop of one buildings that has a clear view of the glowing green orbs in the central tower of Beacon. Jaune, standing on the edge, turns to Pyrrha frowning. "Pyrrha, I know I'm going through a tough time right now but I'm not that depressed, I can always be a farmer or something." Horror crossing her face as realization hits her, Pyrrha pushes Jaune away from the edge. "N-n-no, That's not why I brought you up here! Jaune, I know you're having a difficult time in class and that you're still not the strongest of fighters so...I want to help you." Jaune frowns looking confused. "Wh-what?" Pyrrha not noticing Jaunes look of shame continues. "We can train up here after class where no one can bother us." Jaunes frown deepens, "You think I need help?" Pyrrha frowns noticing Jaune misunderstood her. "No, No that's not what I meant." Jaune keeps frowning not believing a word she says. "But you just said it."
"Jaune, everyone needs a little push from time to time. It doesn't make you any different from the rest of us. You made it to Beacon! That speaks volumes of what you're capable of!" Jaune sighs turning away from her, lowering his head and his voice. "You're wrong, I-I don't belong here." Pyrrha nods in disagreement, frowning. "That's a terrible thing to say, of course you do!" Jaune turns to face her, now angry. "No I don't! I wasn't really accepted into Beacon." Jaunes turns his back so he doesn't have to face her as she speaks. "Wh-what do you mean?"
Jaune's voice gets higher and higher as he confesses. " I mean, I didn't go to combat school. I didn't pass any tests, and I didn't earn my spot at this academy! I lied, I got my hands on some fake transcripts and I lied!" "What? But... why?" Jaune sighs looking frustrated.
"'Cause this is always what I've wanted to be!, My father, my grandfather, and his father before him were all warriors! They were all heroes! I wanted to be one, too. I was just never good enough." Pyrrha looks concerned approaching him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Then let me help you!"Jaune growls suddenly turning on her with mad frustration.
"I don't want help! I don't want to be the damsel in distress! I want to be the hero!" Pyrrha frowns and tries to speak.
"Jaune, I-"Jaune ignores her continuing with fear and anger in his voice. "I'm tired of being the lovable idiot, stuck in the tree while his friends fight for their lives! Don't you understand? If I can't do this on my own... then what good am I?" Pyrrha attempts to reach out for his arm and console him, but he leans back from her touch.
"Just... leave me alone. Okay?"Pyrrha sighs her head bowed, sad.
"If that's what you think is best..."She walks away, her footsteps getting softer and softer until she leaves the roof.
Jaune paces a little until he hears a mocking laugh and Cardin appears on the roof from his window. "Oh, Jaune..."Jaune freezes looking behind him at his bully.
"Cardin!" Cardin chuckles, a smile on his face.
"I couldn't help but overhear you two from my dorm room. So, you snuck into Beacon, huh? I gotta say, Jaune, I never expected you to be such a rebel!" Jaune frowns taking taking on a begging tone as he speaks
"Please, Cardin, please, don't tell anyone!" Cardin smiles a fake evil smile and shakes his head.
"Jaune, come on! I'd never rat on a friend like that!"Jaune seems nervous but turns towards Cardin approaching him.
"A... a friend?"Cardin nods and traps Jaune in a headlock grinning.
"We're friends now, Jauney boy! And the way I see it, as long as you're there for me when I need you, we'll be friends for a long time." Cardin then finally releases Jaune, who gasps as he leans on the ground.
"That being said, I really don't have time to do those extra readings Dr. Oobleck gave us today. Think you could take care of that for me, buddy?" Cardin then leans down to rub Jaune's hair and gets up with a grin.
"That's what I thought." Cardin then heads back to hang onto the edge before speaking again.
"Don't worry, Jaune; your secret's safe with me."Cardin drops back down to his room as Jaune rubs his neck in pain and worry but before he can go back to his room, Kyle and Taylor drop down in front of him.
" Well Kyle it seems even with the beating you gave him Cardin's skull is still to thick to not get our warnings. Kyle nods looking at jaune who's staring at the two with shock.
"That doesn't matter, now we plan and make sure Jaune gets through this in one piece. Jaune Coughs hearing this and steps forward looking meek.
" I do get a say in this right? Kyle nods and chuckles patting jaunes back.
"Of course you do Jaune but I'm sorry to say you'll have to obey Cardin for now, your time will come trust us." Jaune sweat drops and frowns looking at both Kyle and Taylor.
"That's the plan? It doesn't sound like we're doing anything at all." Kyle nods. Smiling he pats Jaunes back.
"Don't worry, we'll come help when the time is right just have faith in your teachers". Taylor nods in confirmation chuckling.
" Yeah Kyles right Jaune, and his plans normally work out so you should be fine. Take it from me." Jaune sighs shaking his head looking down.
" shouldn't you oh I don't know tell my team about this?" Kyle chuckled his happy face turning into a glare as he looked at Jaune.
"Would you have done so yourself if you had the chance?" Jaune stayed silent at Kyles question and Kyle grunted in response before jumping off the roof. Taylor looked at where Kyle disappeared to before turning back to Jaune.
" Don't mind him Jaune, bully's get him in a bad mood, anyways see you in class tomorrow. Taylor then jumped up onto the roof, and disappeared making jaune look after him with confusion.
" it'd be easier to get back to his room from the ground, man he's weird." Jaune then headed back in from balcony and went to go to sleep. Unbeknownst to Jaune and Taylor was the fact that Kyle wasn't going to sleep instead, Kyle was heading towards the forest where he knew the field trip to collect sap was going to be held. Once he arrived, Kyle drew both his dust sabers and pulled out a jar of sap he had collected early in the day. After a few minutes, buzzing could be heard, and Kyle twirled around In a circle dispatching a few of the rapier wasps that had inhabited this part of the forest. Holding up their frozen bodies with his semblance, Kyle chuckled and crushed them into dust getting rid of the few that were in this area. After this, Kyle set up some rope traps for all of Cardin's team except for Cardin himself. With his traps set up, Kyle dusted his hands and headed back towards his room.
The next day turned out to go as it did originally, with jaune doing things for Cardin the only difference being that, during the night jaune was unable to collect rapier wasps due to Kyle's interference. This however changed little, as that morning the field trip continued as planned.
The teams, Glynda, Taylor, and Kyle all went on this field trip however as jaune followed Cardin and his team, Kyles traps sprung into effect, trapping cardins team except for trapped cardins teammates struggled and tried to call out to Cardin, but were stopped as ropes wrapped around their mouths. Being alerted to his traps going off, Kyle turned to Taylor and grinned as he held up a blind fold.
" hey I set up some piñatas in the forest over there want to have a swing at them? Taylor nodded eagerly and Kyle chuckled as he looked in the direction of the trapped kids.
" good just transform your arm into a bat and absorb some bark and hit it out of the park partner oh and if you hear screams, that means the piñatas are breaking hit harder.
Taylor nodded eagerly doing as he was told before running in the direction Kyle pointed to swinging his bat arm wildly. " I want some motherfucking candy! Kyle chuckled at Taylor's declaration and closed his eyes counting to ten in his head before the sounds of loud whacks and muffled screams could be heard. "Ah music to my ears, now then to deal with Cardin. Kyle then cracked his knuckles, and headed off in the direction he saw Cardin and jaune go. After a few minutes, Kyle had caught up to jaune and Cardin, just in time to see Cardin punch jaune only to rear his arm back in pain after doing so.
Seeing Cardin distracted, Kyle picked up the jars of sap next to the two with his semblance and threw them into cardin knocking him to the ground and covering him in the sap.
"That's enough Mr Winchester, besides you have more to worry about then Mr. Arc here. As Kyle says this, an ursa raises up behind Cardin roaring at the sap covered boy. Kyle would of went to help, but the sounds of more growls caught his attention, and he turned around to see more ursa behind him and jaune. Turning to the ursa that was behind the two, Kyle threw ice dust to the ground behind him, before knocking his canteen off his belt spilling his water and forming a wall of ice.
Jaune seeing Cardin in trouble, runs over to him and deflects that ursa's paw attack with his shield. Kyle glances back in time to see this and thinks to himself "Well that's one problem dealt with, now to kill these ursi." Kyle used his semblance to lift the ice wall in front of him and throw it at the ursa facing it's dazed he quickly runs up to the ursa and cuts its throat. Shortly after he hears a tarzan like yell from Taylor as he jumps out of a tree with one of his hidden blades out.
Kyle pushes Jaune and Cardin out of the way so Taylor doesn't crush them with a dead ursa. Sure enough Taylor lands on the back of the Ursa with his blade in the back of its neck, killing it. Taylor gets off the ursa and stands up. "Heh that was kinda fun, I'm surprised it didn't sense me." Kyle rubs his eyes at this," That is because it was agro on Jaune and Cardin who, by the way, you almost crushed to death!" Taylor put his hands on the back of his head defeated. "I knew you were here and that you could move them in time, so really it wasn't a bad call on my end."
"You saved my life, after everything I've done to you and everything I've put you through." says Cardin in shock. "From now on" says Jaune helping Cardin up " You and your team are not going to bully me, my team, or anybody. Got it?" says Jaune pushing Cardin's mace into his chest. "Y-yeah, got it." says a terrified Cardin. "You two better regroup with Glynda" says Kyle smiling "She's probably wondering where you two are at about now." The two nod in agreement and take off back to where Glynda and the rest of the students are at. "Hey Taylor, What did you do with those pinatas?" Asks Kyle. "Meh, they're still tied up." says Taylor shrugging. "I Figured you'd wanna get some swings in before I let them go." Smiling, Kyle and Taylor fist bump as they make their way towards the rest of Cardin's team, not quite sure if they are gonna free them just yet or not.
