She spent the month balancing between packing, small meetings with Bruce to prepare her for what living with him was like. She even spent a weekend at his place to get used to her new room and the new house. At least she'd have a butler, that was a perk, and Alfred seemed like an okay guy. The British accent and sayings were cool enough. Unfortunately she couldn't see the school until the first day, which would be annoying since she had to get used to the entire building, which even from the outside she could tell was huge. All that was coupled with spending as much time with Puck and Santana as possible before the month was up. Which included making about a thousand five hundred dollars in sales.

Her current relationship with Bruce was bumpy at best. She didn't really speak to him unless she was spoken to, and the weekend spent at his place included her fathers so she wasn't really spoken to too much. She was asked if she was excited to start a new school, which was replied with a shrug. She was asked if she liked her room, she said that she liked the size, the double bed and the fact that she had a balcony. She didn't make eye contact with him at all throughout the entire weekend and her answers were short and to the point. The less words exchanged the better. Leroy and Hiram knew that she didn't mean to be difficult, hell even Bruce knew that. It was just an adjustment. She went from calling him Uncle Bruce to just Bruce. She wouldn't call him dad yet. She wasn't ready for it no matter how much he wanted her to be. But he wouldn't force her, part of this whole thing was being comfortable enough around him and that meant allowing her to call him whatever she wanted. She liked Alfred, he knew that much, which made things easier due to work, she would be home before Bruce arrived from work which meant a lot of time with Alfred in the house…the manor…Wayne manor, which was huge as all hell and she planned on spending enough time exploring it.

Now the month was up, and so was Spring break, so she was in Leroy's car on her way to Wayne manor, with her suitcases in the back and a bunch of boxes with all of her things as well. She left a few things she didn't really need back at the Berry residence, but most of it was in the car right now and her favorite CD was in the radio on repeat. They must have gone through all nine tracks about three times by now, because they weren't really paying attention, they were talking about everything that they could, spending the last few moments they had together as a family. Because after being raised by these two men for all her life, she was never really ready to say goodbye to them. No matter how angry she was when she got the news, she never wanted to leave them. They were her parents and despite everything she still loved them.

They arrive at the gate of Wayne manor and suddenly Rachel goes quiet. She knows this is it, she has to live with Bruce now. It'll be two days before the new semester starts. Two days and she'll have to wear a freaking uniform and go to freaking private school with a bunch of other kids who are no doubt the biggest snobs on the planet.

Alfred and Bruce stood outside on the porch waiting for them to pull up in front of the steps that lead up to the house. Once they pulled over Alfred immediately opened the door to the back seat for Rachel.

"Welcome back ma'am, lovely to see you again." He said cheerfully as she climbed out of the car.

"'Sup Alf!" she said with a smirk towards him. He offered her a smile and closed the car door, walking towards the trunk to begin helping the Berry men unload her luggage.

"There's really no need Alfred-" Leroy began.

"Nonsense sir!" Alfred dismissed as he picked up a box and carried it inside. Rachel admired the guy, even in his old age he was the picture of health. Suddenly she saw someone approach her. She turned around and was looking straight up at Bruce.

"Welcome home Rach." He said softly. She resisted rolling her eyes at him and gave him a weak smile instead.

"Thanks." She said, slightly annoyed. She went to the trunk to pick up her suitcases.

"Need help, sweetheart?" Bruce asked.

"No, it's cool Bruce, I got it." She said as she carried the bags inside. She took them upstairs to her room and came back downstairs to see Bruce with her guitar in his hands.

"What are you doing?" she demanded, startling him.

"Whoa!" he said as the guitar slipped from his hands. Her eyes went wide as she ran up and caught it by the neck and strap, narrowly avoiding it colliding with the ground.

"Careful! Are you insane?!" Rachel shouted as she checked the instrument for scratches.

"Sorry sweetheart, you startled me." Bruce said with a soft chuckle. She bit back the growl that was bubbling in the back of her throat in frustration. "I was just taking a look, it's a very nice guitar."

"It is. Which is why I generally refuse to let anyone touch it!" Rachel snapped at him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I promise, no more touching the guitar, okay?" he said, rubbing the top of her head, effectively messing up her hair. He walked back out of the house to get another box as she rolled her eyes and carefully place the guitar back in it's case and carried it upstairs. She was unpacking it and setting up the stand when Alfred walked in.

"Ah well, that explains this then." He said to her. She looked over her shoulder and saw him carrying the amplifier.

"You didn't have to do that Alf, I could have gotten it." She said softly. So far she liked Alfred better than Bruce, but that could be because he didn't nearly smash her guitar.

"Oh pish posh," he dismissed, walking further into the room and setting the amp down next to the guitar stand. "I may be old, but that doesn't mean I'm not strong now does it?"

"Of course not." She giggled, then a thought popped into her mind. "Hey if I'm ever playing too loudly just knock okay? I'll turn it down."

"Oh, no need ma'am, Master Wayne's already had your room sound proofed." He said with a smile. "Something to do with a story about an angry Reverend."

Rachel smiled at him as he chuckled and, with a polite nod, turned on his heel and walked back out the door to help with the rest of her stuff. She finished setting up the stand and placed her guitar and followed him.

Soon enough all the boxes were unloaded and Hiram was helping her sort her clothes just like they were at home so that she'd be familiar with the layout…his words not hers.

After helping her get settled in, the Berry men had to eventually go home, of course not before Hiram was in tears and Leroy was making promises to call and text and stay in contact.
