Aiyumi's Question: Ruben is cute and... Is into video games too? O_O

My Answer: He would probably play then if he had opposable thumbs, but he just watches Xavier play on his spare time and likes games.

Pokemon X and Y: Adventure Of Kalos

Chapter 4:

Prelude to The Journey Part 1

October 21

Okay, since I've been allowed to go on my journey, Things are only going to get eventful from here on out. According to mom, I need to practice and prepare for this journey. Mom has a good point. I don't really have much experience out in the wilderness. Or even know any survival tactics. I finally can walk again and it's October now. I will start getting ready soon, along with Kuja, who needs more battling experience for sure...

October 23: Frubble Trouble

I was at the Racetrack clearing mom made in the forest behind our house. I took Kuja out here to practice his abilities and improve his battle strengths and weaknesses.

"Kuja, let's keep practicing you're dodging!" I ordered him he turned around with a annoyed look on his face.

"But Xavier! I can just jump over all the attacks! Wouldn't it be pointless to practice if I can jump high enough already?" Kuja tried to convince me. I shook my head and opened up a battle strategy guide that mom bought me yesterday when she went grocery shopping in Santalune.

"Jumping doesn't guarantee that you avoid all attacks bud. Some attacks come from the sky down, like Thunderbolt, or even a attack fired into the sky and coming back down to strike. We have to practice you're dodging from left to right so you could be prepared for things like that." I ran him down "Dodging Strategies" from the guidebook. Kuja sighed and nodded his head. I was about to give him an order, until I felt a warm breeze of wind and I saw puffs of pure white cotton trailing by in the wind.

"Woah, wheres all the cotton coming from?" asked Kuja. But I got my answer soon enough.

Everywhere in the air were small blueberry colored Pokemon with cottony puffs attached to their bodies. Plus small beady red eyes and smiles an air-headed person would have. The Pokemon floated aimlessly in the air all around us. I recognized these Pokemon as Jumpluff, Grass/Flying Cottonweed Pokemon that migrate every year to warmer destinations across the world using warm southern winds to guide them.

"Hello mister~!"

"Ooh~! A human~!"

"That Froakie is adorable~!"

"What a tall human~!"

"He's giant~!"

"Such a nice warm day...~"

"I looooove floating like this~!"

"Hey, have you heard of Puffy~? He's the most handsome Jumpluff around...~"

"Puffy~? No way~! That Whimsicott the other day was way more adorable...~"

All these Jumpluff gossiped amongst themselves or greeted me as they lazily floated by on the wind, occasionally shedding balls of fluff and cotton on the wind. I waved to all of them. Kuja started waving too. They saw me and Kuja waving as some floated around in complete flips through the air and some were floating upside down.

"HAI THERE~!"

"Hello human boy~!"

"Hihihihihi~!"

"Hello again mister~!"

"Hiya Froakie!"

"Come join us mister~!"

"Humans can't fly Rose~!"

"Just wishful thinking...~"

"You airhead~! Humans can fly~!"

"No they can't cottonbrain~!"

"Yes they can~!

"No they can't~!"

"Yes~!"

"No~!"

"YES~!"

The two Jumpluff squabbling about me being able to fly or not floated over to each other and started fighting by smacking each other with their cotton puffs. This created a huge cloud of puffy fluff that floated off everywhere. Some blew into my face and I quickly pulled the fluff off of me. All the Jumpluff in the air floated down to the ground to watch this cat fight (or cot fight) unfold around them.

"Aah...aaaahhh..." I inhaled. All this cotton was starting to make me sneeze.

"ACHOO!" I sneezed, startling the two quarreling Jumpluff into stopping, leaving the cloud of cotton to pile up on the ground.

"What was that~?

"I believe humans call it schnozzcumbering~"

"What? No! They call it sneezing, not schnozzcumbering~!"

"That was loud..."

"I'm glad we don't do that...~"

I wiped my nose with the sleeve of my jacket and looked around. I saw all the Jumpluffs surrounding me, but I couldn't spot Kuja anywhere.

That was, until I heard a weird noise.

"Froooo...Frooooaaaa..." I heard croaking noises in the giant pillow of fluff on the ground.

"FROOOOOOOOOAKIE!" Kuja sneezed so hard the giant pile of cotton poofed right back up into the air and scattered all around us. The Jumpluff jumped in fright when the heard Kuja's sneezing.. They slowly fell back to the ground.

"OMG! The Froakie's schnozzcumbering again~!"

"It's called sneezing Darlene...~"

"oh...~"

"Frooooaa...Froooooooooaaaaa..." Froakie started up again. All the Jumpluff freaked out when they saw him about to sneeze again.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!"

"He's gonna Schnozzcumber again!~"

No~! He's gonna sneeze! Get it right~!"

All the Jumpluff suddenly scattered into the forest leaving me with Kuja. I looked at Kuja to see there was a difference this time with his sneezing.

However, when Kuja was readying a sneeze, all of his white bubbles around his neck started puffing up too. I froze.

I completely forgot about that.

When I did a science project on Froakies, I had to research it's body physiology, and and it's special traits. The white bubbles around it's neck are a special pelt of sorts. It's actually a special kind of gooey putty that protects the Froakie from most harm due to a specific chemical secreting from it's neck. This stuff is called Frubbles. Froakies also use this goo to stick opponents down with and to puff up to make themselves look bigger and scarier.

But whenever it gets overinflated from too much air intake, it explodes everywhere, covering everything in a sticky mess.

The giant ball of white goo was beginning to become pretty huge.

"FROOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKIE!"

The last thing I remember was a wall of the gooey crud flying straight at me at 90 MPH.

Grace was at home chopping up some lettuce and putting it in a small bowl. She was about to start grating the cheese on the counter when she heard a knock on the door.

"Oh! I guess Xavier's done with his training" She said aloud as she opened the door. Standing in front of her was a giant ball of goo and a small puffball of goo with yellow eyes in front of him.

"Heh momph" came the muffled cry from the taller goo pile. Grace started giggling when she saw Xavier and Kuja like this.

"Stoph laughtingph momph!" He plead to her.

"Fro! Kie Kie! Froakie!" Kuja asked too from his ball of goop. Grace finally calmed down and looked at Xavier.

"So honey, are you finished training?" she asks with a laugh.

"YESH!" was Xavier's muffled response.

October 27 Fun Battle and a Jackass Rival!

Today I had a free day. I trained Froakie's dodging skills pretty good for the past four days and we were taking a small break. Me and Froakie were gonna watch a movie on the TV in the living room. I decided to watch The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey. I only had the first half of the series as The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug had not been released yet. I was about to press the play button on the DVD remote when someone was knocking at the door.

"Someone's here!" Kuja stated. I walked over to the door and opened it to see Amanda standing there with a cheery smile.

"Heylo Xav!" she chirped.

"Hey" I replied.

"Are you busy with anything?"

"No not really. Mom's gone grocery shopping in Aquacorde and I'm staying home to watch the house with Kuja. I'm pretty bored" I said with boredom.

"Great! Since you're not busy, and I'm not too busy either, I...wanted to ask you this a while ago" She said.

"Oh yeah? What is it?"

"Xavier, I would like to have a battle with you!" she challenged me.

A moment later, we were at a small grassy clearing in the forest. Amanda took the far end and I took the closer end.

"Okay, I would use Clover in this battle, but she's pretty strong and I don't think Kuja would stand much a chance, so Falia will battle instead." Amanda explained her battle idea with me.

"Clover?"

"Oh yeah! You never met her yet! Come on out Clover!" She then tossed her Pokeball into the air and a Pokemon materialized out of it.

The Pokemon was what I thought to be a Fennekin walking on two legs at first, but wasn't. This Pokemon had a small framed body, with fur in the shape of a small dress like girls would wear, with the bottom half covered in ash black fur, the top half of its dress shape a pale yellow, it's chest, arms, and small clawed fingers covered in cream fur. It still had its small fox like face, but with more pointy ears and longer fire red ear fur. Plus, unlike it's previous form, it had small wily and sneaky eyes a fox would have. Also, a big fluffy pale yellow tail tipped in fire red. A twig, for some reason was stuck in its poofy tail. This was a Braixen, The evolution of a Fennekin.

"Clover, this is my new friend Xavier. Xav this is Clover" Amanda introduced. I knelt down to the ground at Clover's level and held my hand out to her.

"Hey there!" I greeted to her. She looked up to me and gave a small grin.

"Ah, hello to you too! You're pretty nice!" She greeted formally.

"Thanks! You're cool too!" Clover's eyes widened.

"You can understand me?! Amanda, this guy is officially awesome! He can understand me!" She said while hopping up and down with excitement and a big grin.

"What did you do to get her so excited? She usually never gets so excited!" Amanda said with curiosity...should I tell her?

Sigh..."Don't tell a soul. I don't want people to know." I asked her.

"Okay! I promise!" she made a "cross my heart gesture" over where her heart would be.

"Well...I can speak to and understand Pokemon" I tried to say as normal as possible. Amanda gasped.

"...What?"

"That's...that's...amazing!" Amanda breathed out slowly. She had a look of utter disbelief written all over her face.

"Yeah I know. But please don't make sound so special! I don't need the attention..." I asked Amanda.

"Okay. I will! Anyways, We came here to battle! We can talk about your ability later!" Amanda said.

"But for now...LET'S BATTLE!" Amanda challenged me.

"Kuja, are you ready to rock 'n roll hoochie koo?" I asked him.

"Huh?"

"Are you ready?"

"All the way Xav!"

Kuja jumped over and raised his small fisticuffs, ready to fight.

"Okay! Falia! Let's do this! Just like we practiced!" Amanda tossed a normal Pokeball and Falia the Flabebe came out with a squeal. That squeal soon turned into a loud shriek when she saw what she had been summoned into.

"N-no! A-amanda! Nononono! I-I-I can't do this!" She wailed.

"Please don't be scared Falia! We've been training for this!" Amanda plead. Falia was shaking like a leaf (no offense to her size) and and reminded me of how Kuja was scared to fight when I got him.

Kuja leaped over in front of the scared Flabebe and started to comfort her.

"Falia, It will be okay! I was really scared when I had m y first battle, but I learned that battles aren't scary at all! They're actually really thrilling!"

"B-but..."

"You don't have to be scared of battling me! I have as much battle experience as you do! So please, have a battle with me...won't you?" Kuja started to plead to Falia as well. Falia wasn't shaking as much anymore and she looked like she was processing everything Kuja just said while she occasionally flapped her ears to keep her and her flower afloat. No response came from her for a moment.

"...O-okay! I-I-I will never -k-know until I t-t-try!" Falia encouraged herself. Kuja started to beam as he turned around to give me a more excited look. Amanda was looking at me expectantly.

"So whats the scoop?"

"Falia was really scared to battle, but Kuja gave her some pep talk and she is willing to try to battle" I explained Falia's problem for her. Amanda had stars in her eyes when she heard that. She looked more hyped up to battle than anything.

"Great! Alright Falia! Lets do this! Use Vine Whip!" Amanda commanded. Falia became a bit determined as she planted her flower into the earth and extended long, thin, green vines towards Kuja a breakneck speed. By the looks of things Amanda is using Grass type's advantage over Water type.

"Kuja, jump high to dodge!"

"You got it!"

Kuja crunched down low then sprang up really high into the air and out of Vine Whips reach. Amanda bit her lip, seeing her command had failed. Then she got a evil glint to her eyes.

"Falia! Blow Kuja out of the sky with Fairy Wind!" She ordered. The made me worry. What the hell is Fairy Wind?! From the sounds of it it has to be one of that Fairy Types moves!.

Falia plucked her flower out of the ground and gracefully uplifted herself into the air and started to whip up a gust. But unlike the attack Gust, Falia started to shake her little blue flower and bright girly pink sparkly dust was blown into Kuja.

"KIEEE!" I don't know how this pixie dust could hurt him, but Kuja was crying out loudly from pain. Amanda crossed her arms and gave me a somewhat smug look.

"Don't try to dodge Vine Whip! Falia will just blow Kuja away!"

I started to bite my lip myself. How could I counter this strategy? Falia could just float around Kuja's Bubble attack, I know that because she was pretty fast when she used Fairy Wind. She would sidestep Tackle for sure (or sidefloat XD) I need a new way to stop Falia. She doesn't act like it, but she is pretty damn strong! Then I remembered the Frubbles! How they could stick things together like super glue!

"Froakie! Go in for a Tackle!"

"Okay, but I doubt it will work!"

"Trust me Kuja! I have an idea!"

"Vine Whip Falia!"

Kuja went barreling into a football tackle with his shoulder while Falia re-planted herself and summoned the spindly green vines and extended them. I then noticed how well my plan would work! Falia's vines don't go separate when they aim for Kuja, they are very close to one another. I saw this was the perfect chance!

"Stop Kuja and cover your body with Frubbles now!"

Kuja saw what I was planning and started to inhale some air. The Frubble scarf he had started to puff up until Frubbles coated his entire body except his feet. Amanda caught on to me and her eyes widened.

"Stop the Vine Whip Falia!"

Her command came too late. The vines got stuck in the gooey Frubbles and were caught in our trap. Falia tried to retrieve them, but to no avail. The Vine Whip was glued tight.

"Pull harder Falia!" Amanda said, now frantic.

Falia started to tug even harder, stretching the Frubbles along with it's vines. That's when I had another epiphany. Falia is lighter than a feather and is trying to drag Kuja, who is probably 100 times her own weight.

"Kuja! Grab The Vine Whip and pull on it hard!" I commanded.

"Totally! I get it!" Kuja salved his webbed hands with Frubbles and gripped the vines hard and started to yank hard.

"Now, THIS means war!" Amanda challenged me.

"No, this means Tug -O- War!" I corrected.

"Kuja was starting to drag Falia through the air while Falia was hopelessly pulling back. Kuja then put some extra muscle into the pull and yanked one last time. Falia went flying through the air and got stuck in all the Frubbles.

"Falia! Are you okay?"

Falia muffled something in all the Frubbles, but we couldn't hear her at all.

"Kuja! Time to finish this"

"You got it Xav!"Kuja pulled off the Frubbles holding Falia and her little flower and stuck her on the ground. Kuja then did Something new. Kuja opened his mouth and a long pink tongue stuck out. He then started to lick Falia over and over. At first I thought it was a strange act of kindness, then I realized Kuja had learned Lick!

Kuja had licked off all the Frubbles and I could see Falia Shivering from the disgusting feeling of Kuja's tongue. I can't blame her. That must feel gross. Falia couldn't take it any longer and passed out from everything that had happened.

"Oh no! Falia! Awwww...looks like you won!" Amanda cried out.

"Kuja we did it!" I cheered to Kuja, who was spitting out Frubbles and spit.

"I wont be using that move often! That was DISGUSTING! Falia tasted like veggies! I HATE veggies!" Kuja said bitterly.

"PFFFT! HAHAHAHA!" I couldn't help it. His reaction was too damn funny! At least it was until he narrowed his golden eyes at me

"Sorry Kuja, Your look when you said that was funny!" I laughed a bit more, Until I saw Clover come over to me, really giddy again.

"That fight was awesome! I have to come over to your place sometime! I have to battle you guys too! This is soooooo awesome!"

"Hahaha! I'm glad you enjoyed it Clover!" I complemented. The Pokedex then chirped up.

Battle Between: Xavier VS. Amanda

Winner: Xavier

You Win: $600

Total Money: $1100

Amanda walked over to me holding the downed Falia in her hands.

"Return!" She held Falia up to her Pokeball, who was turned into energy and sucked into her respective Pokeball.

"Xav, I'll admit it, you are stronger than you look! And you haven't had your Froakie very long!"

"Thanks! Plus, his name is Kuja!" I reminded Amanda. That's when we were interrupted by a sneer.

"Typical. Amanda loses to a wimp! Hahaha! I bet this guy's a wimp too!" The voice insulted. Amanda instantly started to fume While Clover narrowed her eyes and started to give a throaty growl.

"Shut up! You're one to talk Matthew! You lost to me! So shut it!" she shot back with venom laced in her voice. That's when Matthew came into the clearing.

Midget height. Brown shoes. Blue jeans. Red jacket. Curly red hair. Plaid baseball cap on backwards. And finally, a stupid sneer smeared across his face. I hate this guy already, and I think this little shit and Amanda have a nasty history.

Matthew, at Amanda's response, stomped his foot on the ground. "For the last damn time Amanda, it's MATT! NOT MATTHEW!" he yelled, then calmed down. "Besides! You only beat me once!"

Amanda just glared at him with distaste. Matt looked at me and sneered.

"Another loser friend came to town! Someone I can..." He didn't finish his insult. He saw my red Pokedex sticking out of my pocket then looked at Kuja on the ground.

"Oh great! Sycamore's got another loser to help him! And he chose a Froakie. Weak. Those suck!" He finished his insult. I didn't mind much that he cut me up, but what pissed me off was calling Kuja weak.

"HEY! Kuja isn't weak at all! I bet you are calling him weak because you wish you're own Pokemon weren't weak!" I spat back to him.

"Xav...don't do this...!" Amanda warned me.

"SHUT UP! I'll show you and you're Froakie that you're weak! Go Quilladin!" He tossed a Pokeball in the air, and a big thorny Pokemon crashed into the ground with a big thud.

This Pokemon reminds me of a Pignite fused with a Chespin. This Pokemon's entire body was green, save for a dirt brown lower half and a three pointed leaf mark on its stomach. With stocky legs, stocky short but powerful arms, two large pink tipped thorns on its head, a short tail on its backside, and a with a dirt brown tuft of fur on its head. It also had a sharp pointed nose and a rather angry look from its round eyes.

Obivously what Matthew had said, a Quilladin, a definite evolution of Chespin and a Grass Type from what I know. Hey! I should check it out on the Dex! Isn't that what its for? I held up my Pokedex and pressed "Search Pokemon". An image of Quilladin instantly appeared on the screen.

Quilladin, The Spiny Armor Pokemon. Quilladin rely on it's sturdy shell body to deflect predator's attacks, then counterattack with its two sharp quills. Quilladin also strengthen their legs by running into trees, sturdy objects, or one another. They are usually very kind and do not start to fight with one another. Quilladin is a pure Grass type and has the Ability Overgrow, or in rarer cases, Bulletproof.

"Wow, you had to use you're Pokedex cause you don't know about Quilladin? You must be a noob after all!" Matthew taunted.

I ignored that and was more intrigued by his Quilladin. The Pokedex says that Quilladin don't start fights, but this one looks like a Pangoro with a sore ass. It looks very violent and angry considering it was glaring as soon as it came out of it's Pokeball.

"Xavier! You can't beat him! Don't do this!" Amanda pleaded with me. I ignored her.

" Kuja, lets do this! Here, have this first!" I gave him an Oran Berry. Kuja accepted it and was about to eat it when Matthew's Quilladin stomped over, shoved Kuja onto the ground, and ate the Oran Berry I gave to Kuja for energy in one gulp! Matthew and his Quilladin started to laugh at us as a result. Kuja started to go red in the face and was ready to really hurt the both of them.

"HEY! ASSHOLE! That was Kuja's berry! And that was unfair!" I complained to him. He just laughed some more.

"Too bad! Besides, you can just get another Oran Berry anywhere here! Now Quilladin! Use Tackle!"

Quilladin lowered his head and went into a charge full speed ahead at Kuja.

"Kuja! Jump high and dodge it!" I gave an order.

Kuja crunched low like last time and launched into the air and out of harms way.

But this time was not like my battle with Amanda. Not at all.

"Quilladin, stop and use Vine Whip!" Matthew ordered with a shit eating grin. Quilladin instantly stopped his charge and extended vines from his armor. Unlike Falia's little vines, these one were the size of tree branches and were very thick. They instantly lashed out and grabbed Kuja right out of the air.

"Kuja NO!"

Then Quilladin threw Kuja into the ground at a startling speed. And left him in his crater he made. Kuja was twitching and croaking in pain.

"Kuja, get up buddy! Come on I you can do it! Please!" I supported him. Kuja weakly stood up with a look of determination glinting in his golden eyes.

"Give up while you can noob! You're Froakie is a wimp and can't even dent Quilladin at all!" Matthew boasted. His Quilladin stomping the ground in agreement.

"Shut it! Battles aren't about strength! It's about the bond trainers share-"

"With Pokemon blah blah blah! Who gives a fuck?! It makes me wanna puke!" he finished, annoyed look on his face. This kid really sickens me.

"I've had enough of you and your lovey dovey crap! Rollout, go!"

"Kuja! Dodge now!"

Quilladin started to spin on the spot like Sonic The Hedgehog charging up on of his Spin Dashes. Then he released and sped towards Kuja at high speed.

"Kuja! Move PLEASE!"

Kuja started to wobble, then he started to run, but then tripped on the ground.

SMASH!

Kuja was hit and crushed on the spot with Rollout. Dust and dirt flew everywhere. I covered my eye with my arms. When everything cleared, there was Matthew and his shit eating grin, Kuja, battered and beaten on the ground, a Quilladin with his foot held over Kuja's head in a threatening manner.

Quilladin was ready to kill Kuja in one stomp.

"ENOUGH! CLOVER! USE EMBER!"

Clover jumped into the field, held out its stick, alight with fire and breathed out hot coals from it like a fire breather. The white hot coals battered Quilladin in burns and singes. Quilladin howled in pain and turned to took at Clover with hatred burning in its eyes..

"Amanda! For fuck's sake! I was going to beat that wimp to a pulp!" He whined angrily and turned his battle to Amanda.

"Xavier! Get Kuja back home! I'll deal with Matthew here!" Amanda ordered me to do.

I quickly ran over to Kuja and picked him up in my arms. I was ready to cry at his state. Kuja had bruises across his body. But not only that. A nasty cut across his stomach. I quickly got up and ran out of the forest as fast as I could. Not before hearing Matt's last words.

"One day Xavier, I will beat you and your wimpy Froakie till your both dead!"

Okay then! That's it! I'll try to get Chapter 5 in soon! I am gonna try to! But for now, I say ciao!
