AN: Sorry, I am not really updating very often (like once in an year), but I forget, and don't have time to write, and school and argh... I have a few chapters written but I dunno when I am going to post them, sorry. Sometime soon hopefully. :)

Anyway, as you know the shows are not mine and everything belongs to the BBC :D

The Doctor was walking in the garden. It was very nice, everything was green and peaceful. There were some birds in the trees. No noises or annoying people. Speaking of annoying people, from where did this boy Campbell come. The Doctor didn't like him much, was he trying to be clever or hero or something like that? For God's sake, he was going to fight with Daleks with just only a hammer. Crazy boy! Well, he was in asylum. The Doctor shook his head as he heard Rose calling for him. When he turned around he exhaled at the side of Rose dragging Campbell behind her to where the Doctor stood.

"Campbell came up with a great idea! You should hear it, we can do it without weapons or killing anybody."

"Well, we don't know if it's going to work but we came to tell you anyway. You may have ideas." The boy ran his hand through his hair.

"Well, speak then. What is the great idea?" Asked the Doctor skeptically. Rose narrowed her eyes and looked at him. He just raised his eyebrows and looked at the boy.

"We can just disable them so they can't move and then we'll ask them questions if you want or shut their computers. You've met them before, you know how to do that... probably." Campbell smiled unsure at the Doctor, who was watching him thoughtfully. Actually, it was a good plan. He had seen them disabled. They were actually funny and harmless then, they just moved their weapons and the things that they looked through up and down. He saw this in his first incarnation and could never forget it of course. This was one of the first times he had ever seen them. "Yes, it's possible to happen but it's very dangerous. We have to come very near to them. But the Daleks have evolved since the last time I saw them disabled and harmless. Back then they had discs on their backs so they can walk on other areas than steal or metal. It was one of my very first adventures with my granddaughter, Barbara and Ian. I was in my first incarnation. But now I don't see these discs on the Daleks, maybe they have removed them, they don't need them more. If it's so, I don't know what can we do." The Doctor looked to the sky, thinking and recalling everything he knew about one of his greatest enemies ever.

Rose stood silent for a while, then she looked into the Doctor. "What about the Sonic Screwdriver, can't you use it do disable them? That way we won't need to go near them when they can shoot us." The Doctor looked at her, strange look on his face.

"Actually I've never thought about it. We can try, we won't lose anything if we hide very good." Rose and Campbell nodded. Suddenly the boy looked wide eyed.

"But if we do it now, what will the people think if the see the D-dal..."

"The Daleks!" said Rose, helping him.

"Aye, them. What if somebody sees them? What are we going to do then? You know this is an asylum, people may see things, but this is something other, different."

"You seem pretty normal for a patient here. Why are you here exactly?" The Doctors brow furrowed. The boy was really smart and had good ideas, he had to admit that. He shouldn't be here. But what if he was dangerous, could kill somebody when he loses control or something like that. The Doctor couldn't allow somebody like that to go near Rose. But the boy just grinned.

"I am manic. When I hear something new and like it, I become obsess with it. It's interesting sometimes. I got my job at the radio that way." Now the boy was truly laughing, and as he saw Rose's and the Doctor's faces he laughed even harder.

"Yes, I think we know what's manic. But what's so funny? How come you've got a job? Do they let you out from here?"

"Well, they were going to let me go home soon but I didn't want to leave Eddie alone so I made them let me stay longer." At that the boy winked mischievously. "We have been running for a long time here, it's not so easy. Usually we are not allowed to go to the basement, too, because who knows what we could do. But now they are really going to let me go home and till then I know how to get to my job."

Now Rose laughed too, understanding how he fooled the staff here. The Doctor just rolled his eyes, but then smiled, too. The boy was really clever.

"Good for you that you have a job. And I can see your point, you are right... again. Now we will relax and rest a little bit. When everybody has gone to bed and it's dark outside, we'll go down to the basement and deal with these Daleks. Now you go and sleep a little or read a book. I don't need rest, don't need much sleep usually, so you two go."

"Oh, Doctor, stop with the showing off." Rose smiled with her tongue-in-teeth smile.

"What, it's true! I will even let you show Campbell the TARDIS."

"The what?" Now the boy was confused. And while the Doctor rolled his eyes again Rose smirked.

"That's our spaceship... Well, the Doctor's. So do you wanna see it?"

"Aye but... You just what, parked it here in the middle of the city? What if somebody sees it?"

"OK, boy, too many questions. Now go with Rose before I change my mind. Usually I don't show my TARDIS to everybody."

"Then why to me?" Campbell's brow furrowed. He didn't think that the Doctor liked him, in fact he thought exactly the opposite thing.

"I can see life here probably isn't easy so why not a little distraction. And you deserve it, you gave some really good ideas. Usually Rose gives them but now... Well, off you go."

Rose grabbed Campbell's arm again and nodded towards the gate. He smiled, looked at the Doctor and then started walking. The Doctor sighed and sat on one bench. He liked the boy, but he was a little bit jealousof him. Wait! Really? Jealous? Well, Rose liked him obviously and the Doctor loved to see her smiling like that. So he led her to have some more time with this Campbell before they take off for the next adventure. Now he really had a job. He had to play a little bit with his Sonic to find the right setting to actually disable the Daleks.

"So they won't ask where are you going? Really?"

"Well, I am with you. And I suppose they let you in the building because you have said you are doctors. There's no other way in, except if you are looneys. Then they are really let you in and won't let you out soon." Campbell laughed. He thought about the asylum and his friends there. They have been his family while he was here. His life changed. Most because of Eddie, but he helped everybody with everything he could do. And led by these thoughts, Campbell began to think about these Daleks again. What if they attacked while he and Rose weren't there. What if they harmed his friends? Then he felt a slight squeeze on his hand.

"Hey, is everything alright?" Rose looked concerned. Campbell wondered if she was thinking about her family and friends too while she was out there, in the space.

"Yeah, just thinking. So where's that ship of yours? If we go too far, we may be late when the Doctor needs us."

Rose smiled, her tongue poking out of her teeth. "You don't need to worry that much. We are used to this situations with the Doctor. Though I was like you in the beginning. But soon you get used to it and know that in the end everything is okay. As for the ship, it's in front of us."

Then Campbell realized that they had stopped in front of... an old police box. It was blue, made from wood, with lamp on top of it and some signs. He looked at Rose in confusion. She smiled and pulled out a chainlet with a key on it. She put the key into the lock on the door and turned it around. Then she opened the door and made space for Campbell to get in first. He stepped inside not knowing what to expect except a small wood box with a phone in it. But he surely wasn't expecting this.

It was like a big room, very big room, with stairs and doors in the walls. There was something round in the middle of it. There were some yellow things connecting the ceiling with the floor, and cables everywhere. The walls were yellow, too, dark yellow, with some round things on them. Campbell just couldn't believe his eyes.

"It's-it's bigger on the inside! How's that possible?"

"The Doctor says that everybody's reaction is like this." Rose laughed. "But she is really nice. And this has been the Doctor's home for most of his life. You like it?"

"Oh aye, of course, it's brilliant. But who is she?" At his question, the TARDIS made a small noise and Campbell looked around. "Oh, I get it. The TARDIS is she."

"Well, the Doctor respects her very much, calls her Old Girl. He loves his TARDIS." Rose touched one coral, stroking it. Campbell smiled slightly. Then Rose jumped.

"Come on, I will show you the bedrooms so you can choose one for now. The Doctor told us to rest and we better do it if we want to be up all night. Come on." She headed for the door and the boy followed her hurriedly. She showed him her bedrooms, so he could know where to search for her if he wanted something, and then he chose one of the free bedrooms to relax. He had to admit that he was really tired. He just plopped on the bed and soon was asleep.

Several hours later Campbell fell nudging on his shoulder. He cracked one eye open and saw blonde hair. Then he sat up and rubbed his eyes. Rose was smiling at him, telling him to get up because they had to go. Campbell immediately understood what was she talking about and jumped from the bed. Soon the pair of them were walking towards the big old building.

It was dark now but the boy didn't know the exact time. All the windows of the asylum were dark, sign that everybody was asleep. They saw a dark silhouette in front of the entrance and when they came closely, Campbell recognized the Doctor. He waved at them to hurry and they ran the last few meters. The Doctor gave Campbell baseball bat, one God knew from where did he get it, and to Rose one torch. Then he played with his Screwdriver for a minute and after that started walking. The group went down the stairs and in the old dark basement. Rose switched on the torch and they continued walking. Soon they were in front of the door. Suddenly something clicked in Campbell's mind. What if there were more Daleks in the other rooms, behind the other doors.

"Doctor, I..."

"Not now boy! If you are scared just go up or maybe better run away from here. Who knows if we will blow this place up?" Campbell glanced at Rose horrified, who only shrugged.

"Well, when we first met he blew up my job, so... Yeah." She smiled and the Doctor grinned.

"No, I meant what if there more aliens in the other rooms. There are more doors, Doctor. And you are not blowing up this building! My friends are here, sleeping peacefully. I am not allowing it."

"Really? You have spirit, boy. We'll try not to blow it up. Now, while you were in the TARDIS I walked around to check. There are no more aliens here. Relax. Now do as I say. We'll get it and hide behind the computers.

When the Daleks come I'll try to disable them. If I make it we will talk with them. If not... Well, run." Rose smirked at that, remembering something. But Campbell wasn't so relaxed. He was far from relaxed.

But at this moment the Doctor opened the door and slipped inside, Rose close behind him. They went behind one of the big computers but when Campbell looked around, he didn't see any Daleks. And then everything went red, the alarm switched on. Oh, Campbell wanted to kill himself. He had absolutely forgotten about it. In the next moment three Daleks came into the room shouting "Exterminate!" and searching for the intruder. The boy didn't have time to do anything, he couldn't even get in and go to Rose and the Doctor. But when he looked at the Doctor, Campbell saw him pressing the button of his Sonic and the Daleks immediately stopped, only their eye-things spinning around. Then the Doctor came in front of them, causing Rose to gasp. But the Daleks only moved their weapons, without firing them.

"Haven't seen you so helpless for a while, eh?" The Doctor put his Sonic in his pocket, smirking. "I wanted to... well, tell you kindly to leave this planet but my friend, Rose, wanted to know why are you here." While he was saying that, Rose came behind him.

"Uh, yes. I wanted to know why are you here." She repeated, unsure. "I come from the future and there are no Daleks, I can assure you that. So you better leave now in peace."

By this moment Campbell couldn't move from his place. He didn't know why. Was he scared or because he had never before seen things like this in his life. He wanted to help of course, but just couldn't, struck in awe. Then these strange alien things started to talk, too, answering Rose.

"We detected traces left from the Doctor. We wanted to talk with the Doctor."

"Well, I am here. What do you want?"

"You are not the Doctor." At this he frowned and looked confused at Rose. She shrugged, not knowing what's happening. "He doesn't look like you."

"Oh, you are missed the news maybe. I regenerated. What is your last record about me?" The Doctor laughed. But then he and Rose froze at the picture on one of the screens. Campbell inhaled sharply. There, on the screen, was him, his picture. But what was he doing there? He wasn't alien, right? He was from the Earth. Earth!

"But that's not possible, Doctor. He is just a boy, right?" Apparently Rose was thinking the same thing.

"As far as I know yes." The Doctor answered. "But where is he, actually?" They looked around but Campbell was nowhere to be seen. He was flying up the stairs to go to his room. This was just a dream or a vision. Anything, but true. He just couldn't believe it.
