Oh my god. Its been ages since I updated this and I'm sorry, I'm doing my GCSE's at the moment and its just really hectic. But I finished it anyway. (Reviews, Follows and Favorites is appreciated.)

"See isn't it nice to be back at home, away from all the medical drama." Burt said handing His son a plate with a sizable portion of Carole's casserole on it.

"Thanks." Kurt said taking the plate with a small smile as he sat on the couch staring at the TV. A programme droned on in the background but his mind wasn't very interested in it. "But I was actually enjoying the drama, it was like I was living in an episode of Gray's anatomy or something." Burt laughed with Kurt as he sat down beside his son and focused on the television. Kurt tilted his head so it rested on his father's shoulder.

Kurt's eyes closed as he took a deep breath, hoping all his cares would fade away just for a few seconds.

A few minutes later and Kurt couldn't take his eyes off of the TV show playing. It was an old fashioned drama of some kind, the name was one which he couldn't pronounce but it was quite gripping. 5 minutes in and already someone had died and another had been shot.

Burt had gone to get himself a small plate of casserole because it 'looked too good to resist'.

Just as peace surrounded the house, the loud ring tone of the phone rung out.

"I'll get it." Kurt noted getting up from his comfy spot on the couch.

"Hello?" He said into the phone, holding it to his ear.

"Hi Kurt."

"Mrs Ande- I mean Emily, to what do I owe the pleasure." He asked sweetly hiding the underlying panic in his voice wondering why she'd be calling him, she usually never had time to call anyone with her busy schedule.

"Are you at the hospital?" She asked trying not to panic.

"Um. No I'm at home. Why? Has something happened?" Kurt rushed to get his words out fearing the worst.

"No. I had a call off of the hospital saying they'd finished some tests and scans and asked me to come in. And I was just wondering if you'd come with me."

"Of course I will." Kurt said.

Kurt arrived at the hospital 15 minutes later after telling his dad of the call and rushing out the door.

They arrived at Blaine's room to see Emily sitting at his bedside obviously worried. The tube was still inserted in his mouth, helping him breathe. It pained Kurt's heart even more seeing him in this state.

She gave Kurt a small hug upon his entrance and gave Burt a smile that didn't portray any happiness like it was intended to, only worry.

"I'm sorry to ask you down here, I just didn't want to face all of this on my own." She said worriedly, tears escaping from the corner of her eyes.

"It's ok." Kurt reassured her.

"Where's your husband?" Burt asked, standing beside Kurt. He had heard every detail of what happened the other day and knew why the older man hadn't been able to make it.

"Business meeting." She said without making eye contact with either of them and sitting back down.

Just then the door opened as Dr Adams walked in, clipboard in hand. "Oh, hi there. I didn't expect so many people." He said a smile full of delight plastered on his face. "Hi Mrs Anderson, can I talk to you a moment?" He asked gesturing his head towards the door.

"Anything you have to say, can be said in front of these two." She stated giving the two men a smile.

"Ok, well I'll just cut to the chase." He sighed. "the reason for Blaine's sudden cardiac arrest was because the coma was putting an unusual amount of stress on his heart which lead to his 'episode' yesterday."

Kurt held his breath as he heard the news. A loud sob sounded from across the room. Emily had burst into tears, holding her head in her hands.

"I'm sorry." She said through tears not looking up. She repeated herself obviously getting herself into a panic.

Kurt made his way over to her placing his hand on her shoulder as she continue crying.

"I understand this is a difficult time. We're doing all we can."

"I know it's just.. He's my little boy-" Her eyes were like mini waterfalls uncontrollable tears rushing out. She hiccuped.

Dr Adams left the room sending a small sympathetic smile towards the group in the room. The door shutting echoed through the quietness of the room.

It stayed like that for what seemed like forever until Emily got up from her chair gathering her stuff. "I have to go. I'm sorry business calls." She said shooting a smile to both men sitting in the chairs at the end of the hospital bed.

Once she left it was just the three of them. It was quiet still as the sun outside dimmed creating a picturesque scene outside the small hospital window.

Burt's eyes slowly started to droop as time went on. Kurt sat wide awake adoring the boy beside him as he slept or at least looked like he was sleeping.

His scruffy black curls leaned on the pillow as the boy slept. Kurt watched him as he pursed his lips and scrunched his nose unconsciously. He reached his hand out to brush some of the curls out of his face. The boy slowly blinked open his eyes and smiled.

"Good morning" Kurt said sweetly resting his hand on his cheek. Blaine hummed in response moving to peck Kurt on the lips. He blinked his eyes, soaking up the sight in front of him, Kurt's hair was disheveled and stuck up in many different directions, his eyes were still dreary from sleep and it was Blaine's favorite look even better than when Kurt wore his incredibly tight skinny jeans that drove him crazy. Kurt looked back at him with nothing but love for the scruffy side of Blaine that only he got to see.

Kurt's heart sprung with happiness at the memory. He stared at Blaine a bit longer. His eyes flicked over to his father sitting in the chair sound a sleep and snoring.

And then out of the corner of his eyes he swore he saw a twitch. He shrugged it off, just his mind playing tricks, surely. He stared at Blaine more intently and that's when he saw it. The boy's eye began to flutter and his finger moved slightly. Kurt grabbed his hand.

"Blaine!" Kurt said smiling, a pool of tears forming in his eyes. Burt woke up, trying to make sense of the scene. He saw Blaine slowly coming to and rushed to get help.

"Blaine?" Kurt said, a tear falling down his cheek.

Blaine's eyes slowly opened as a nurse rushed in assisting him. Dr Adams was called in, he entered the room rushing towards Blaine. Kurt stayed stationary, in utter shock. The doctors waited for him to respond to his name as they called it over and over. A light shone in his now fully open eyes testing his reflexes as he came fully to.

The doctors left momentarily saying something about getting results or something. Kurt was too distracted to listen as he walked over to Blaine and took his hand. Blaine's eyes moved to look at him.

"Kurt?" He mumbled quietly.

"Yeah I'm here honey. I'm here." He squeezed his hand and for the first time in what seemed like forever, Blaine weekly squeezed back.
