After classes were done for the day and studying with Ron and Hermione in the library, I went down to the dungeons to Snape's quarters. He said to be there for dinner and as of right now I did not want to be on his bad side. He could give me more rules and limit my already limited freedom. I knocked on his door. I didn't remember if he gave me the password this morning. I was trying to rush out of the rooms as fast as I could.
"Mr. Potter," Snape greeted me. I guess it's better than Potter. "Right on time. Put your bag on the couch. You will be doing your homework later on the kitchen table."
Snape walked back into the kitchen and I tossed my bag on the couch. I walked into the kitchen to find there was already food on the table. There was plate of chicken sitting in the middle with plenty of colorful vegetables surrounding the chicken. Snape picked up a plate and put some slices of chicken on the plate. He then put some mash potatoes, corn, broccoli, and cauliflower on the plate too. He put the plate down and then picked up another plate loading it up the same way.
I went to sit down in available chair directly across from Snape. "Why did you make my plate? I could have done it. I'm not a baby." Snape raised his eyebrow at me.
"I beg to differ. If you cannot properly feed yourself in the past how I am to expect you to do it now. I will load up your plate from now on. Besides I want to make sure you are getting a proper balanced meal." Snape started eating.
I looked down at my plate. For calories it wasn't bad. I could probably handle eating this without feeling like I am gaining too much weight. I speared a piece of broccoli and popped it in my mouth. I proceed with the rest of the broccoli and then moved on to the cauliflower. After I was done with the cauliflower I pushed my plate away. I was full. Having three meals a day was too much for my body right now.
"I will not let you leave until you finish at least half a slice of chicken." Snape threatened while he continued to eat his plate.
"I'm full. I can't eat that much. Can't you give me a potion or something?" I asked.
"What potion are you suggesting?" Snape questioned me. Begging me to ask for the potion.
"A nutrition potion." I said in a hopeful voice.
"Oh, I will, but I still want you to eat that chicken." Snape sternly said ending the conversation.
I pulled my plate back and started cutting up half a slice of chicken. I cut the piece of meat into four pieces. All I have to do is eat four pieces and then I am done. Four small pieces of chicken. Except the pieces were not very small. They were about medium size. Ugh, how am I going to do this? I speared one piece and closed my eyes popping it into my mouth. If I don't see it than I am not actually eating it, right? As I was thinking it I knew I was wrong. Of course I am eating the stupid chicken. I can taste the stupid thing in my mouth. I quickly picked up another piece and this time I closed my eyes and pinched my nose. If I plug my nose than I can't taste it. If I can't taste it than I am not really eating anything, right? Unfortunately, it didn't quite work that way. I can't trick my mind that easily. I know I am eating chicken and my body wanted to reject it. I put my fork back down on the table.
Snape gave me a look that screamed at me 'I don't have all day you are wasting my time.' "Mr. Potter, you need to eat more." I gave him a defeated look.
"I'm trying, but I really am full and now I feel like I am going to throw-up everything I just ate." I lied easily. Snape looked me up and down and finally told me I am done with dinner tonight. I must have really looked sick.
"I'll be back. In the meantime get your homework out." He stood up and snapped his fingers. The food disappeared and Snape left the room.
I walked over to my bag and grabbed my Herbology book to write my essay. Earlier I finished my homework that is due the next day. I guess I will just get a head start on the homework that was assigned today.
Snape came back in carrying a number of different potions and sat them down in front of me. "Are all these for me?" I asked shocked.
"Yes, you will be drinking the nutrition, stomach soother, anti-nausea, and vitamin potion every night. You will also start drinking the nutrition potion, stomach soother, and anti-nausea potion at every meal from now on until you are at the correct weight. Any questions?" I shook my head and grabbed the first potion.
Bleh…they all tasted like Ron's gym socks. Disgusting. I have no idea why I asked for a potion. Now I have to drink almost all of them at every meal. I pushed the vails away from me and opened my book to start my homework.
About two hours later I was done with all my homework that was assigned for today. I slammed the book shut and got up to put my stuff away.
"Done already." Snape said from the living room making me jump. "Uh…yeah. Hermione and Ron helped me earlier with homework in the library and I just finished the homework that was assigned today." I told him even though I had no idea why I was telling him.
"I can look over it." Snape offered. "Umm…Hermione will look over it tomorrow. I'm going to bed. Goodnight, sir." I mumbled uncomfortably. I quickly ran out the room before Snape said anything else. I did not need to talk to him anymore than I had to at the moment.
I abruptly woke up from a nightmare. This time it was about Snape telling Voldemort all my secrets and weaknesses. Voldemort was going to defeat me because he knew how to use all my fears and doubts against me. I was going to die as a scare fat boy. Voldemort was going to stuff all my favorite food in mouth until I explode. All while he called me ever awful name the paparazzi reported and all the nicknames Uncle Vernon ever called me.
There was no way that was ever going to happen. I am losing weight I am getting skinny. Well I was until Snape found out how I was starving myself. Why doesn't he understand this is how I am going to lose weight and be that perfect soldier everyone wants me to be for the war.
I quickly got up from the bed I knew there was no way I could go back to sleep so soon. All I can think about is how to get rid of the dinner I ate earlier. I walked to the bathroom and somehow found myself kneeling in front of the toilet. I figure Snape is asleep by now, so I jammed my finger down my throat to make myself throw up. After the second try jamming my finger in my throat I started vomiting everything in my stomach. I tried to be as quiet as possible, but it didn't work very well. I was gagging and being super noisy. I'm sure I woke up Snape by now. I quickly finished up and flushed the toilet. After washing my hands I went back to my room.
I half expected to see Snape in the hallway or to meet me in my room, but there was no Snape. I went over to window. I was in the dungeons, so the window only showed the lake. I spent some time looking for the squid, but it is probably far too late for the squid to be up right now. There was still no way I was going to sleep. I picked up one of the Quidditch books Hermione gave me and started reading it for the fifth time. It was an interesting book. The book gave me good tips on how to do some of the cool tricks on the broom during a game. I wish I could try these moves right now, but I am grounded from flying. Besides I'm not stupid enough to go out flying at this time of night.
Morning came quickly enough, Snape was awake at exactly five in the morning. I wasted about another hour in my room before coming out for breakfast.
"You're up early." Snape said while glancing up from the Daily Prophet.
"Will you stop reading that trash." I grumpily demanded.
"I can't stop reading this said trash. This trash could potentially save either your, mine, or Professor Dumbledore's life." Snape replied.
"Well, can you at least not read it in front of me? I hate seeing myself in the paper because then I have to read it, so I can prepare myself for a horrible day."
"Why would the day be horrible?" Snape asked.
"Malfoy and the rest of the Slytherins. Once they start then the rest of the school follows along with them except Gryffindor." I explained.
"Hmm, I'll have to say something at the next meeting." Snape said thoughtfully.
"Excuse me. Are you actually going to do something nice for me?" I couldn't believe it. This man who has been nothing, but a hateful greasy bat is going to be nice. Hell must be freezing over.
"You are under my supervision and you are acting as my ward for the time being. I figured I should care for you welfare." Snape said looking directly at me.
I was speechless for once. I didn't know what to say. No one has ever cared if I got bullied or not. I was supposed to deal with it myself. Only me and no one else in the world.
"No one cared before." I slipped out. "Someone should have cared. Then you would not be fighting this disorder." He sternly finished.
He then proceed to order breakfast for the two of us. I could care less about breakfast, but there was no way for me to get out of the meal. He must have finished ordering because he went back to reading the paper. The next second the food popped onto the table. Snape immediately put the paper down and grabbed a plate. He filled it up with an egg and one piece of toast. He then grabbed a small bowl and filled it up with an assortment of fruit. He gave me the plate and the bowl. He picked up the second plate and filled it up with two eggs, a couple of strips of bacon, and toast. He also filled up a small bowl of assortment of fruit.
"How come you get bacon?" I protested.
"Because Mr. Potter, I know how to eat the food on my plate. If you can finish what is on your plate then you too may have some bacon. If you can't finish the food then you get no bacon." Sneaky Slytherin.
"Does that mean the fruit too?" I asked. I can play that game too.
"No, Mr. Potter. That does not include the fruit, but please have some of the fruit too. It is good for you." He took a sip of his tea.
I looked down at my plate. There was just one egg and one piece of toast. I can do this. It's not really that bad. The plate is pretty much empty except for the egg and the toast. I took a bite of the egg. The egg wasn't really that bad. I knew it was good for you and had fewer calories than that piece of toast. The toast will be the real challenge here. Honestly I did not really want the bacon, but it was not fair for Snape to exempt the bacon off my plate. Besides I had to play the part that I wanted to get better, so I could get out faster. Somehow I mindlessly ate half of my egg. How did that happen?
It wasn't really that bad and I really can't taste the egg that much. I bet Snape is pleased that I am eating my egg so quickly. It's the toast that I am worried about. I knew there was no way I could eat that toast. I can't even muster one bite of the disgusting food. I quickly finished the last bite of my egg. I easily started eating the fruit. It was so much easier eating healthy food that had a low calorie count. All the other stuff was hard to do.
"Mr. Potter, do not fill up on fruit. Eat half of the toast and I can let you drink your potions and leave the table. Unless you want to finish the toast then you can have bacon." Snape suddenly said startling me from my thoughts.
"I'll try." I meekly complained. Honestly I didn't have the effort to fight him on the toast. I wanted to simply give up right now. I felt full after eating the egg. I couldn't eat the toast too. Plus I barely had any fruit. I picked up the toast and nibbled a small piece of the toast. Immediately I wanted to excuse myself and barf the toast out of my system. I pushed the plate away from me.
"I'm sorry, sir. The toast is revolting and there is no way I can even eat one piece of it." I said pleading to him to let me skip the toast. He stared at me and he looked worried and somewhat defeated.
"Okay, Potter. Eat the bowl of fruit and I will give you your potions. Afterwards we will have a weigh-in." He told me. Oh, no a weigh-in. I much rather eat the toast than do the weight-in. I know he mentioned weigh-ins before since he incorporated it in his rules, but I have yet to see him actually weighed me.
I pushed the bowl of fruit away not even tempting to eat any more food. If I was going to get weighed than I do not want to add any more calories into my body. Since calories only burn into fat and I cannot add any more fat. I am fat as it is.
"Mr. Potter, you will eat your fruit. Just because I said you will get weighed does not mean you will refuse to eat now. EAT. YOUR. FRUIT." Snape said between his teeth.
"NO, can I have my potions and get weighed, please." I angrily asked.
"I excused you the last few days not finishing the minimal amount of food. I am even excusing you on eating the toast. You will eat that fruit." Snape said while glaring at me.
"Fine I'll eat the stupid fruit." I said giving up.
I knew there was no way I could win this fight. Snape could easily make me stay at this table with a sticking charm until I am done with the fruit. It also meant that I could not go to class that day and try to burn off some of the calories from the breakfast I ate. I hated putting weight on without being able to burn some of the calories. I didn't want to become lazy like my uncle and my cousin.
I was almost done with my bowl of fruit when the fireplace lit up in green. Snape got up and walked over to the living room. I stopped eating and began to get up, but Snape saw me and gave me a glare that made me rethink about getting up.
"Hello, Healer Williams. I am so happy you could find time to see us." Snape pleasantly greeted the stranger.
"No trouble at all Severus. Remember you are allow to call me Charlie. I hate being so formal with all these titles. It make me feel like an adult." He laughed.
"Yes, I know. Sorry Charlie. It's a habit I have formed." Severus apologized.
"The habit of being very professional and proper. Sounds like you are the old man and you are younger than me." He laughed again.
"Well, where is my patient?" He suddenly asked sounding very professional.
"In the kitchen, hopefully he is by now done with eating the rest of his breakfast." Snape said loudly.
I snapped out of the eavesdropping I was doing and looked down at my bowl. I still had some more fruit in the bowl with my fork I speared into a piece of fruit and popped it in my mouth. Now Snape is going to get mad since I failed to finish my breakfast and he is going to know I was eavesdropping.
They both walked into the kitchen and looked at me. Snape glared at me right away. The other man next to Snape looked like he was middle aged. He had short white hair and short white beard. He was somewhat overweight. I thought he looked like a younger Santa Claus. He looked much friendlier than Snape at the moment.
"Hello, my name is Healer Williams, but I insist you call me Charlie. You must be Harry." He said while holding out his hand. I shook it while nodding to answer his question.
"Why are you here? If you don't mind me asking." I asked bravely. I wanted to know why I need a healer. I am fine. I don't need a healer. Besides Madame Pomfrey can take care of all my needs.
"Mr. Potter, Healer Williams is here to help track your progress through the weigh-ins you will have every day. Healer Williams specialty is in eating disorders and may be able to help you with potions and a balance diet more efficiently than me and Madame Pomfrey. He will be your personal healer for the time being." Snape explained.
"I don't need a personal healer. I am fine. I am adjusting well and probably put on several pounds." I said. I was done with my fruit and got up. I washed my dishes and grabbed my school bag. I was ready to leave for class.
"Mr. Potter, where are you going? You have to do your weigh-in before you leave." Snape said while blocking the door.
"No, I don't need one. I need to go to class." I yelled while I tried to shove him out of the way. My feeble attempts hardly worked. Snape did not even budge.
"Harry, I promise it will only take a minute. Hop on the scale, I will record your numbers and do a quick diagnostic charm on you. Then you can go." Healer Williams gently said.
I looked over at him and he was sending me a friendly smile.
"After you are done with the weigh-in you will take your potions and then you will leave for class." Snape added.
I guess if I try to escape I wouldn't get far with the two of them. I surrender willingly. If I get done fast enough than I can get to class faster and I won't hear them discuss their findings.
"Alight, let's get this done as fast as possible." I said while putting my school bag on the couch. I walked over to Healer Williams. He already had a scale ready for me and I stepped up on it.
"Isn't there a spell that will tell you my weight?" I asked. I was trying to distract myself from looking at the scale.
"Yes, but if you cast a spell on yourself to disguise your true weight that will interfere with my spell than it would not work. I learned from previous patients with eating disorders. They will often cast those charms, so it is easier to just use the scale." The healer explained.
"Now I will cast the diagnostic charm on you. Once the tingling has stopped you can step off the scale and drink your potions." He told me.
I was happy it only lasted a minute. I stepped off the scale happily. I went over to Snape in the kitchen and he already had a line of potions ready for me.
"Severus, you will tell me what potions he is taking right." The healer stated. "Yes, Charlie."
"So Harry, you weigh 6 and half stones. (Equivalent to 92 pounds) I would like to start to put you on a strict high calorie diet to help you gain weight. I am very concern you weigh so little. You are dangerously underweight." Healer Williams said while I took my potions. "I will come back later this evening to explain your new diet and potion regime."
I slammed down the last vail on the table. "I'm going to class now." I said angrily.
I grabbed my school bag off the couch and headed to the door. I refuse to listen anymore about how much I weigh or what diet they wanted to put me on. I didn't want see their faces and watch me get fat. I gained half of stone since leaving Grimmald Place. I need to find a way to get rid of this weight.
"Mr. Potter I expect you to come straight here after class. No side stops to talk to your friends." Snape told me before I left through the portrait door.
