Hi guys! I just realised that I forgot to write my normal mini comments at the bottom of the last chapter... x( Stupid Me! Anyway, you were probably quite happy not to have me annoying you, but stiiil!
Enjoy the story! :D
Forced Realization
I try to keep the tears from falling as I look up at Jun. We're not touching, not even holding hands.
"What, just like that?" I demand, crossing my arms, "We've been going out for the last 5 months, and all you have to say is "Let's break up."?"
He just watches me apologetically, and at this, I explode.
"Fine! Just go! Have a nice life with your darling Maddison, and I hope a shark eats you both on your honeymoon."
With that said, I turn on my heel and storm off. Jun does not move, which just makes it even worse, why isn't he comforting me? Why can't he tell me that he's sorry or that he's changed his mind? For the second time this year, I cry.
I'm sitting in the kitchens, watching food magically disappear off the 4 fake house tables for the banquet. I'm sitting on the Hufflepuff table, glaring at where Jun would normally sit, and where Maddison would normally sit in turn. I wonder if she's taken my place next to Jun, it certainly wouldn't be below her to do that.
There;s a small creak as the portrait of the bowl of fruits swings open, but I don't look up to see who it is. What if it's Jun? I do not want to talk to him now.
I hear light footsteps walking across the wooden floor, and someone slides into the bench next to me.
"I'm sorry." Sorpius says, but I ignore him, and glare at Jun's spot. I can almost imagine him and Maddison up at the banquet. He's probably already forgotten about me completely.
There's silence, which I make absolutely no effort to break, then he speaks again, "Rose... this isn't like you. Why aren't you shouting at Jun, or even me right now?"
I don't answer again, and after a while he sighs, and puts a comforting arm around me. At this, I break, and bury my head into his chest, finally letting myself cry and squeezing him as if he were a lifeline. He must think I'm such a weak looser to cry like this just because I got dumped, but I can't stop the tears from flowing, and soaking into his uniform. He doesn't seem to mind, however, and strokes my hair comfortingly until I finally calm down, about half an hour later.
"Sorry."I say, starting to pull away from him, he doesn't let me however, and keeps his arms around me, even though I've stopped crying, "You must think I'm so pathetic." I give him a watery smile.
"I would never think that." He murmurs, and then there is a long silence, in which we just hug, and I dry my tears.
"Thanks, Scorpius." I whisper.
"No problem." He answers just as quietly. We then lapse into silence again, and I use the time to get my act together again.
"We should get going to the feast." I say, once my tears have almost completely dried, but he just shakes his head.
"Red, you've just been dumped about an hour ago. Give yourself some time to recover, we both know that the last thing you want to do id face Jun now."
I stare at him, and then smile, relieved. So, for the rest of the night, I simply eat a liberal amount of comfort food, and me and Scorpius talk about everything and anything, except Jun and Maddison. I have to admit that it's far more enjoyable then any Hogwarts banquet.
The next day, we all board the train to take us back to our families, and spend one of my most enjoyable train rides forever. Everyone seems amazed about the fact that me and Scorpius are actually talking, and I have to groan when Aliza's hair turns a strange shade of silvery pink, for curious. The color really looks awful on her.
When we reach platform 9 and ¾, we all promise to write in the summer, and Aliza's hair goes electric blue (for incredibly embarrassed), andd her face goes bright red when Albus hugs her goodbye. Me and Scorpius hug goodbye too, but we are abruptly pulled a part from his father pulling him away from me.
"What do you think you're doing?" Draco Malfoy hisses at his son, "Touching a blood traitor like her! We're leaving." Lucina, Scopius' snobby older sister, gives us all a disgusted glance before following her family. As I watch Scorpius being pulled away from me like that, my good mood plummets, and I can hardly muster up the willpower to smile at my family when they come to greet us all.
My dad obviously completely freaks out when he sees me sad, and demand to know who the bastard that made me unhappy is. I just shake my head at them all, and rush out into the muggle world through the platform, hopping to catch a last glance of Scorpius. I dee him for about five seconds before loosing him in the crowd, and immediately notice his drooping shoulders, and the brisk walk of the rest of his family, which he doesn't even try to keep up with.
Hugo appears beside me, causing me to jump a foot in the air. He simply glares at me, and then, quite suddenly, pinches me.
"Ow!" I complain loudly, "What was that for, you creep?"
"I was trying to make you come back to your senses, because, as far as I can tell, you've just been staring after Malfoy."
"Wha... N... no! I haven't!" I deny, but it sounds so pathetic, even to me.
"I thought you hated him."
"Didn't I just tell you that I haven't been staring at him? And I changed my mind about him."
Hugo just looks at me, and then a small smile starts to spread over his face, "Oh... When you go out with him, it will be even easier to prank him..."
"Hugo!" I exclaim, "First of all, me and Scorpius will never date, and second of all, do you honestly think that pranking my boyfriends will sit very well with me? I'll be of age in a while, thus able to curse you to my heart's content over the summer."
He pales, noticeably, but then grins, "I'll have to make the most of the next two years then... and, by the way, never say never." Our parents emerge from the wall, and Hugo grins at me before following them through the crowd, lugging his huge suitcase full 10% clothes and 90% Uncle George's newest pranks after them. I'd pity Scorpius if there was even the slightest possibility of us dating.
The bell rings once, as me, Aliza and Al walk into Weasley's Wizard Wheezes side by side. Aliza's eyes widen as she sees the amazing assortment of jokes, pranks and other random things, like candies that dye your hair the color of your choice, extendable ears, pygmy puffs, portable swamps and so much more. Her hair turns an astounded orange.
Fred runs out of the back to greet us, closely followed by James, I swear those two are inseparable. I'm almost knocked over when Fred crashes into me, but when James rushes into us both, I can't stop myself from falling backwards, and landing painfully on my behind.
"Urgh! Can't you two greet people normally for once?" I demand angrily, unsuccessfully attempting to stand up, while Fred and James calmly get back on their feet.
"Right!" James says, smiling sweetly.
"Spit it out, Rose!" Fred continues, and the two boys stand in front of me with their arms crossed and self-satisfied smirks on their faces. It suddenly dawns on me why I can't get up.
"Immobilizing Powder!" I groan, crossing my arms and glaring at my cousins, "What do you want me to tell so badly?"
"Hugo has been telling us a few things..." James says mischievously.
"Oh no... He's told you that shit about me and Scorpius, hasn't he?" I say, exasperated.
"What's this about you and Malfoy?" Uncle George asks, stepping forward so that he's standing next to his son and nephew.
"It's just my stupid little brother that has convinced himself that I like Scorp." I answer dismissively, "Can I get up now?"
James and Fred look at each other with raised eyebrows, "I don't believe her, mate." James states.
"Me neither, cousin." Fred acquiesces.
"Time to get the Veritaserum, I believe."
"I concur."
"Wha... no! You can't do that! That is such cheating!" I exclaim, trying to free myself from the Immobilizing Powder, even though I know it's useless. In fact, the only thing I achieve is to get my hands stuck to the floor as well. James and Fred run off to get the bloody potion which will seal my fate.
I look at my uncle pleadingly, surely he's responsible enough to make them stop!
"Sorry Rosie, I'm curious, too." He says, grinning. Al and Aliza have the same reaction as him, and I am incredibly annoyed to see Aliza's hair turn pink from amusement.
"Oh yeah, really funny." I groan, glaring at my so-called friend, who has the decency to look slightly abashed, though obviously not enough to help me.
Fred and James come running back in, holding the damn truth potion, I clasp my lips firmly shut, determined to not let a drop of it into my mouth, but they just burst out laughing at this.
"Poor, poor ignorant Rosie..." James sighs.
"My dear father has invented a new kind of Veritaserum, which only has to touch your skin to work." Fred informs me, smirking.
I open my mouth to call them all sorts of foul names, but Fred empties the contents of the bottle into my mouth, making me choke on the bloody liquid.
"Told you it would work." Fred says to his dad, who nods proudly.
"You are so predictable, Rose..." James tells me, "I thought you were too intelligent to fall for that kind of trick. Guess I was proved wrong."
"You..." The word blocks in my throat as I try to call Fred a bastard.
"Oh! Rose doesn't really think all the foul things she calls us!" James exclaims gleefully.
"Shut up you... you... you annoying boy!" again, I can't say anything worse than that.
"Is that the best you can come up with Rose?" Fred asks, smirking.
I just glare at him, not wanting to humiliate myself further by opening my mouth.
"Do you like Malfoy?" James asks me, and I feel the irresistible urge to open my mouth and answer.
"I don't like Malfoy." I answer. I love loopholes, I can just think of Draco Malfoy or Lucina Malfoy, and I definitely do not like them.
"Let me rephrase my nephew's question." George says, seeing right through me, "Do you, Rose Weasley, fancy Scorpius Malfoy."
"N... Yes!" Everyone's eyes widen, including my own. Did I just say yes? If my hands hadn't been glued to the ground, I would have clapped them over my mouth. As it is however, I just bite down on my tongue as hard as I can. Do I really like Scorpius? Oh dear god, please no.
James is the first to recover from the shock, "Have you two kissed, cuddled, held hands or done anything else like that?"
Again, the words flow out before I can stop them, "He comforted me after Jun broke up with me, by cuddling me for most of the feast, and we hugged on the train platform to say goodbye."
Fred whistles, "Cuddling, that's just one step away from snogging." I turn bright red, much to my eternal embarrassment.
George chuckles, "I don't think I've ever seen Rose Weasley blush. She must really like Malfoy."
The worst thing out of all this is that I can't even protest when he says these awful words.
"Can you let me go now?" I demand.
"Not yet!" Albus exclaims, "I need to know everything that my best mate didn't tell me."
"What, so that you can play matchmaker?" I scoff, but he just grins at me, and I sigh, "Don't answer that."
"What else have you and Scorpus done together?" Albus asks.
"Nothing, except argue, especially after he freaked out cause I had snogged Jun. I even cried because of that. We also danced at the ball, and he invited me to Hogsmeade next year."
James grins, "Ladies and Gentleman! We have our next Hogwarts couple! He cries, and I can tell he's trying hard not to laugh.
"Shut up, you kid with the messy hair." I scowl at him.
"Thanks!" He grins.
"I have a question too..." Aliza says, much to the general surprise. Her hair is an embarrassed blue, "Has Al ever talked to you about me."
I grin at her question, for once one that I'll actually enjoy answering!
"He told me that he thinks you're really pretty, and so fun to be around..." I glance at Albus, who is shaking his head frantically at me, paling by the second, I smile pleasantly at him, "He also told me that he fancies you."
Zaza's hair turns bright pink with her delight at the news, and then to the general surprise, she turns to Albus and kisses him full on the mouth.
Oh well, at least something good came out of all this, I think, smiling as I watch the two snog passionately. Plus, I guess I know that I like Scorpius now...Now I just have to figure out if that's good or bad.
I hoped you liked this chapter! Rose has realized her feelings for Scorpius... What will happen next... I think you will all be really surprised in the next chapter... and not exceptionally happy either... I am so evil to those two...
