Woah! Been a while! Sorry ^_^ still don't own X-Men! Reviews, favs and follows are ALWAYS appreciated! Enjoy!

A few hours later, a car pulled up in front of us. Erik, Charles and the woman jumped from the car. "We've made arrangements for you to go home." he spoke with his hands in his pockets.

"We're not going home." Sean said strongly. "And he's not going back to prison." Alex looked up slightly.

"They killed Darwin!" Alex spoke strongly, his jaw clenching afterwards.

"All the more reason for you to go home." Charles frowned, trying to remain calm and in control of the situation. I watched quietly as Raven pulled Charles aside and spoke to him. After some persuasion from Raven and Erik, Charles caved.

"We'll have to train, all of us, yes?" he questioned pointedly. Everyone nodded. We piled into two cars and settled down for the drive. I was nestled between Alex and Raven, but not uncomfortably even though they were both in direct physical contact with me. It was strange...it felt...sort of nice. It felt like they cared even though I'd only just met them a couple of days ago.

To be fair, we had been through a lot together already. I was sort of nervous to find out what might happen next in our joyous adventure...

A few hours later, we pulled up in front of an enormous mansion with large gates. "Woah.." I muttered to myself, staring at the huge house.

"How ever did you live in such hardship?" Erik teased Charles, but it seemed to have a slightly bitter tone.

Raven smiled and walked up, holding on to Charles from behind. "It was a hardship softened by me." she grinned at me before turning back to face the monstrous estate. "C'mon, time for the tour."

The mansion turned out to be even bigger on the inside and the bedrooms were gigantic. I was pretty small, but I'd never felt so insignificant before.

"You ready?" Raven grinned at me.

I took a step back from the bookshelf I was reaching towards. "For?"

Hank stepped out of nowhere and stood beside Raven. "We've decided that it would benefit both you and Alex to go out on a date."

"How kind." I smiled sarcastically. "Not interested." I snatched the book I was going for off the shelf and threw myself down into a thick, fluffy armchair.

Raven sat on the arm beside me and plucked the novel from my hands. "On come on, Kara! It'll be fun!"

"No." I snapped, rising from the chair and stomping to my bedroom.

There was a light knock from the door. "Hey, Kara. Everything okay?" I didn't answer. I knew it was Alex and honestly, I was too embarrassed to say anything.

Clearly, Raven and Hank had seen my annoying and somewhat disgusting attraction to Alex. "Why is it disgusting to be attracted to someone?" Chernobog interrupted my self-scrutiny.

"You of all people should know why it's a bad idea to have any sort of closeness to anyone." I snapped internally.

I heard him huff lightly. "You can't possibly still be upset about Lucas."

"Can't still be upset?! It was only three years ago!"

He growled lowly. "Let the boy in. Do something crazy for once." his voice echoed in my head for a minute.

"Can I come in? Are you okay?" Alex called from outside.

I bit my lip and stayed where I was in my fluffy bed. "The door is open." I spoke only loud enough for him to hear me.

The cream-colored door swung open quietly, and Alex stepped in. "What's going on? I heard shouting and then your door slammed."

Shrugging, I buried myself under several blankets and sheets. He smiled and shut the door behind him, coming to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Seriously, tell me what's wrong."

I shrugged again. "Nothing, I'm just kind of annoyed."

"At?"

Sighing, I pulled the covers up to my chin and met his blue eyes with my brown ones. "Raven and Hank."

He tilted his head to the side and lifted a thick, blonde eyebrow. "What did they do?"

"It's mostly just Raven, I guess. Hank was kinda just dragged along for the ride." I don't think he thought I noticed, but he was slowly moving closer to me. "They were trying to force me to go on a date with you." l mumbled.

He stopped moving. "Force you?"

"Well they were pushing me to." I toyed with a lock of my dark-chocolatey hair and refused to make eye contact with him.

He pulled the covers down a bit. "Would you like to?"

"Would you?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest. My palms felt sweaty and my stomach was doing backflips.

An almost smile flitted across his face. "Well, I wouldn't mind."

The corners of my lips twitched. "We should probably wait until everything is over though. I don't think we should do anything rash, ya know."

"Yeah, you're probably right." he smiled, leaning closer to me.

I blushed, feeling myself moving towards him. It was like we were magnets and couldn't move back from each other, the pull was too strong.

"I usually am." I whispered. Our faces were five inches apart. Four inches. Three inches. Two. One. A centimeter. Half centimeter.

His shockingly pink lips were barely brushing against my considerably darker ones. "Do you want to stop?" he asked, I just now noticed his hand on my cheek. His thumb was rubbing circles on my skin and I shivered at his light touch.

My head barely shook in response and he pushed his mouth against mine. I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, the sheets slipping down around my waist.

He grabbed my lower back and tugged me towards him, our breaths turned into gasps and our hearts pounded, thudding so hard that we could feel the beats against each others chests.

He pulled away and pressed his forehead against mine, breathing heavily. "Was that okay?"

"Yeah." I pushed my nose against his and ran my fingers across his muscled shoulders and arms, reveling in his warmth.

He grinned and captured my lips in his again, pushing me down into the pillows. A giggle came from me as he trailed his warm lips down my throat. "What was that about not wanting to get close?"

I gasped, jumping up and accidentally knocking Alex off the bed. "What the hell?" he stared up at me in shock, holding a hand up in question.

"Sorry! Sorry, I just..."

"You just remembered that you aren't alone in this body." Chernobog snickered in my head.

I squeezed my eyes shut and wrinkled my nose, pressing my fingertips to my forehead. "Hey, Kara. Are you okay?"

Alex placed his hand on my arm and looked up at me with worried eyes. "Oh...um, yeah. I just...demon..."

"Demon." he lifted an eyebrow with an almost smirk. Nice one, Kara. Super eloquent. I internally kicked myself.

Nodding, I slid over so he could get back into the bed. He gave a small smile and glanced at the clock. "It's getting pretty late, want me to leave?"

"Oh, um..." he started to get up and without thinking, I grabbed his hand. "You don't have to..."

He raised his eyebrows at me. "Not that I want to do anything! You just don't have to...uh...yeah."

"Has anyone ever told you that you've got a way with words?" he laughed.

My cheeks turned pink and I buried myself in the blankets and sheets. "Aw c'mon, I was kidding." I felt his weight on the edge of my bed. "I'll stay, okay?"

I popped my head out of the sheets and nodded carefully. "Well, scoot over." I obeyed. He slid under the covers and smiled at me as I looked up at him with half of my face hidden by the blanket.

"You alright?" he asked, furrowing his brow.

I nodded, sliding further into the covers. I felt his arms slip around my waist and pull me back up, tugging me into him. "You're drowning in the sheets." he grinned as I pressed my face into his chest.

He smelled really good. What the hell? The guys I usually dealt with smelled like vomit, beer and sweat. He smelled like...fall.

Firewood, maple leaves, fresh air. I found myself quickly falling into a calm, happy sleep.

"Good evening, my dear." Chernobog smiled viciously at me. So much for a calm and happy sleep. "How is our darling Alex?"

"He isn't ours, Chernobog. He's his own person and people can't be owned." I snapped, standing from the cold rocks in the small cave that I always woke up in.

Chernobog sighed and glanced at his nails. "Yes, yes I know. He seems to care quite a bit about you though." his smirk flashed through the darkness. "At least...more than Lucas."

"You shut the hell up!" I hissed, stalking out of the cave angrily.

"Now, now. Don't get too riled up sweetheart." he quickly caught up to me. "Not yet anyway, we have work to do."

Small, black, dripping creatures followed closely behind us and snarled every time I turned to look at them. We finally stopped at a cliff that overlooked a raging ocean. The waves crashed violently against the jagged, glistening rocks at the bottom of the cliff.

The noise was so intense, it made my teeth rattle and my head pound. I winced as Chernobog shoved one of the creatures off the edge and watched as it was impaled by a rock and washed away by the tide.

"Go ahead." he gestured to one of the black blobs of goo that oozed beside my feet. "Push it over."

I looked up at him and shrugged, shaking my head. "Why?"

"It teaches you that soldiers are expendable. This teaches you how to sacrifice. How to be a leader."

I crossed my arms and stuck up my nose defiantly. "This teaches me nothing but how to be a tyrant."

"Very well. May I have your body?" I wanted to slap the smirk off of his face.

Annoyance filled my body and I punted the horrible creature off the cliff, sending it flying into the sky before it dropped into the churning waters, never to be seen again.
"Well done. You may return to your...friend."

I woke with a gasp and grabbed onto Alex's shirt. He jumped and opened his eyes quickly. "What's wrong? What happened?" his voice was deep and gravelly from sleep and I flushed at the sound.

"Nothing...just a bad dream."
