Chapter 4
My head hurts….where am I?
Papa?
Mama?
Wait…
Green eyes fluttered open before bolting up right. Where had she been? Looking around she saw nothing but elegance. If she hadn't known better Maka would think that she was in some type of palace. Glancing down the King sized bed was covered in gold and flower pattern silk. The whole room had a golden and flower theme to it. Carefully she got up from the giant bed and saw she already had golden fuzzy slippers waiting for her on the ground next to the mat.
Speaking of slippers the ash blonde haired girl gasped remembering her clothes. Patting her arms and mid section she wondered what had happened to them. Her old poor village clothes were replaced with a soft pink warm nightgown.
"Who?. No it couldn't be!" She cried hoping it wasn't the master of the manor who had changed her.
"Wait no he left and then…the cat?" Memories of what had happened the night before flooded into her mind.
The door busted open and the purple cat trotted inside startling Maka.
"Good morning nya~ did you sleep well little girl?" It cooed not helping the girl's emotional mindset.
"You scared me! Can't you knock?" She asked only to get the feline to raise her eyebrow.
"When was the last time you saw a cat being able to know on a door?" The feline asked amused hopping on the bed.
"Probably when I saw another cat flying." Maka scoffed crossing her arms. "Okay this isn't going to get anywhere. Could you just please at least meow or scratch the door before coming in?"
Making herself comfortable on the young maidens bed the cat yawned and stretched its hind legs. "I'll make sure to scratch don't get your panties in a bunch." She teased.
"Thank you. Where you the one who brought me in here last night?" She inquired sitting next to the purple feline on the bed.
"Yup I even changed you and everything. I'm going to go ahead and assume you're wondering how. So I'll save you the trouble from asking so many questions. First of all my name is Blair and I'm just a regular old cat." Blair explained gaining a skeptical stare from her female companion. "With a lot of magical power, and no I'm not a witch so stop staring at me like that." She frowned making Maka blink in surprise. "No I don't read minds but that's what humans always associate with magic. Anyways." She jumped off the bed chanting something under her breath and waved her paw opening the curtains.
Green eyes widen seeing the cat's power. Getting up again she walked up to the window where the curtains were parted. The sun was still rising and the view she had of the forest was beautiful.
"I can't believe that I haven't seen this before." She gaped letting her fingers touch the glass of the window. The cold air traveling through to her finger tips.
"That's because all of that is private property." A deep familiar voice spoke from behind her.
Turning her head she jumped seeing the master of the manor. In daylight he didn't look so creepy. Actually he wasn't bad looking it was just his personality that set Maka off.
"Nature doesn't belong to anyone." She countered frowning and blushed deeply realizing she was still in sleepwear. Crossing her arms over her chest she tried not to let her embarrassment show.
"Perhaps there's truth to that but I've got legal documents that say otherwise. And don't look scared I'm only here to deliver you some clothes." He said with his voice laced with annoyance. In his hand he carried a big heavy looking white box. Setting it on the bed he began to walk out.
"Hey wait I need to talk to you." She said with the same annoyance trailing after him. But he kept walking out the door.
"Come talk to me when you're decent. I don't want to talk to someone when their clothes are see through." He chuckled and closed the door behind him.
This made Maka's face turn bright red she hadn't notice that her gown was indeed light and with the sunlight behind her it made the fabric transparent.
"Cute panties are you trying to seduce Soul? Nya~" Blair teased before jumping out of the way of a pillow flying at her direction.
"You put this on me!" The maiden seethed punching the mattress. "You're lucky I'm against animal cruelty but one day I'll just tell myself that you're just a demon in a cat's body." Sighing she pushed her embarrassment aside and opened the box as Blair jumped on the bed.
"That's…" Blair didn't finish her sentence as she gawked at the beautiful dresses inside. One of them was light brown and the other blue. They looked like ball gowns for elaborate parties. "She did always dress up really fancy." The purple feline smiled warm-heartedly.
Maka who was still admiring the dresses set them down and looked at Blair.
"Who?" She asked curious to know their former owner. The dresses didn't look old but did have an air of vintage to them.
"The late Mistress of the Manor. Soul's mother." She answered simply "These are her old dresses."
"Why would Soul give me these to wear?"
"I don't know, that's something you should ask."
Running her hand through her hair the ash blonde sighed and looked at the mischievous face of her furry companion. "What?"
"It's going to be fun to dress you up~" She snickered waving her paw around.
"Wait no Blair I can get ready on my own." She waved her hands in front of her frantically.
"Pum Pum Pumpkin…Bathing time!~" She purred and Maka was levitated screaming into the bathroom.
To be continued.
