A.N: alright. It's still not as long as Id like it to be, but it's a rather disappointing night for me. I'm happy to be back and working on the story again. I will try to update daily, or at least weekly. I'm not exactly as proud of this chapter as I was the first, but I promised I'd have one up tonight.
He carefully pulled her from the rubble, uncharacteristically gentle.
She moaned in pain.
"It's okay, just stay still." He said softly as he carried her from the cave.
She barely registered being set down, her back against the stone wall outside the cavern.
"Where does it hurt?" His voice faded in and out.
She could see the blurred shapes of other figures standing in a circle around them.
"Everywhere?" She grinned weakly at him, blood dripping from her mouth slowly.
He rolled his eyes and pulled her soaked and stained hoodie off her.
"Kenny, hand me the first aid kit."
Kenny pulled a plastic grey box from his messenger bag. "Here." He slid it to the other boy.
"How bad is it?"
"I don't know yet."
He poured a water bottle over her bloody arm, attempting to clean the injured appendage.
"Sooo...who are you guys, exactly?"
Eli scratched the back of his neck nervously as he asked.
Heather laughed weakly.
"What's so funny?" Kord felt uneasy. The whole situation was weird. From the injured female to the collapsed cave.
"We aren't exactly anonymous around this part of slugterra." Kenny answered, as if it were the most obvious fact in their lives.
"Or respected." Came Heather's weak response.
"We'll never get the respect we think we deserve, Heather. You should know that by now." Shadow held the needle between his teeth as he wrapped a bandage around her arm.
"I'm going to start calling you Stitches."
"Don't you even try it." She growled at him.
Shadow popped her shoulder back into place, earning a snarl from the female.
"You guys should find a place to stay the night." Kenny was typing on his laptop as he spoke to the people behind him.
"What about you guys?" Kord still wasn't sure about them.
"We'll be fine. We'll find a forest or something to spend the night in."
"I'd rather travel."
"Your in no shape." Shadow wrapped her in his hoodie.
