I watched Cuddy walk out of the office and I couldn't believe it. House being in charge of the hospital? I know I didn't say anything when Cuddy first mentioned it, but I wasn't sure that House would be the best for the hospital. House stood up and walked over to the door.
"Where are you going?" Chase asked him.
"My office."
"We're in your office House." I stated. House tapped his cane against the glass on the window.
"I'm the dean of medicine; I'm going to my new office." House walked out the door and I sighed. He was hard enough to work with before, now he'll be impossible to work for; even if it's just for a little while.
When I went into my office later in the day, I saw Foreman, Chase and Cameron standing there. Chase was sitting on the edge of the desk, Foreman was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and Cameron stood by the desk holding a manila folder in her arms.
"Don't you have a job you should be doing?"
"This is the case that I'm trying to discuss." Cameron said tossing the file on the desk.
"What are you doing in here?" I asked looking at the folder. "You need to go figure out what's wrong with your patient."
"I'm not going in there. I'm going home. House has killed dozens of people in this hospital and yet Cuddy has left him in charge. This is something I won't understand." Foreman said and went to walk out. I stepped in front of him.
"We can't change Cuddy's choices; but she's gone and now we have to deal with it. I don't agree with House all the time, but we have to listen to him until Cuddy gets back!" Foreman looked at me.
"I don't have to listen to him or anybody. I am going."
"Foreman." Cameron started to say. He turned to look at her.
"You can't say anything to keep me here Cameron." Foreman walked out of the room. Cameron sighed.
"You can't do anything about it Allison." Cameron nodded.
"I know." She picked up the file off the desk. "Somebody needs to talk to this patient." Cameron walked out of the office.

I walked from Wilson's office towards the elevator. I couldn't believe the way everybody is arguing about House. Cuddy is the head of the hospital, House is taking her place. I am not sure what the problem is, he has always been our boss; things haven't changed at all. When I got into the elevator, I saw Wilson walking after me.
"Yes?" I asked stopping the elevator.
"Are you okay?" He asked me with a concerned expression. I nodded.
"I'm fine. Everybody is arguing and our patient needs care." I replied. Wilson nodded and stepped into the elevator.
"You looked upset and I just wanted to check on you." I sighed.
"I don't understand why they are arguing. House is the boss, he always has been. What's the difference now? House might be a pain to deal with, but he was and that hasn't changed." Wilson laughed.
"I think the difference between the way it was and the way it is now is that House did whatever he wanted, but there were typically always consequences and now that he's over the hospital, there isn't going to be anything happen to him. His conscience isn't here; Cuddy isn't watching him anymore." Wilson said and I looked up at him. House doesn't have an internal conscience. Cuddy hollers and gets upset with him, but she isn't his conscience.
"You." I said softly. Wilson looked at me as the elevator opened.
"What?"
"Cuddy isn't his conscience. You are." I responded and we walked out of the elevator.
"I am?" I nodded.
"Any time something happens, House goes to you. You are always trying to help him do the right thing, even if he doesn't want to. You can be there for him." Wilson chuckled and shook his head.
"I can't stop him. House," he stopped, "he, he's unstoppable." I nodded.
"You're the only person he'll listen to Wilson." I replied and walked away leaving Wilson to think about it.
