4 Months Later
Simon and Jeanette had been trying for a baby of their own for the past few months. They haven't had any luck and this was a growing concern for Jeanette.
Endless hours she'd spend, pondering on why she hadn't fallen pregnant yet. Was there something wrong with her? What if something was wrong with Simon's sperm? What if her body wasn't suited to carry a baby?
Jeanette's already intense worry-some thoughts had grown after she had been on the Internet. There were so many things that could go wrong. Phantom pregnancy, stillbirth, premature labor. Jeanette couldn't bare the thought of something like that happening to her and Simon. Not in a selfish way, she just wanted their first child to be alive when they brought it home from the hospital.
Brittany had offered the twins old clothes incase they had a boy. Jeanette wanted to tell Brittany that she wasn't even sure she'd be able to have kids at this point.
"Jeanette Seville?" Dr. Pearson called out into the waiting room, of seemingly nervous patients.
After her thoughts were interrupted, Jeanette stood up and made her way into the doctor's office.
"Hello Jeanette, what brings you here today?" The doctor sat across from Jeanette, a large smile on her face.
"Well, Simon and I decided we would like to have a child of our own. We've been trying for four months and have had no luck. I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me or my body."
Dr. Pearson listened to Jeanette very carefully, the look of pure curiosity never leaving her face.
"Look Jeanette, all I can tell you right now is to keep trying. You've only been trying for four months. Sometimes it takes couples years to fall pregnant. Your physicals are always great, I'm almost 90% sure there's absolutely nothing wrong."
'Years?' The thought scared Jeanette, 'Will it really take us years to have a baby?'
"Thank you Doctor. I appreciate it." Jeanette left the office quickly and ran out to her car. She grabbed her phone and called Simon.
"Hello, Simon Seville speaking."
"Simon! I just got back from the doctor."
Simon smiled at the other end of the phone.
"Oh good. I hope some of your worries were washed away. What did she say? Are they going to perform any tests?"
Jeanette began to calm down at the sound of her husbands voice.
"Well, she said it could take years for some couples to fall pregnant. Simon, what if it takes 3 years?! I don't know if I can take that."
Simon knew his wife was upset and probably wouldn't listen to anything he had to say, but he gave it a try.
"Honey, it can take couples years, but what if it only takes us 6 months? Brittany and Eleanor successfully fell pregnant, there's no reason why you shouldn't. Trust me you have nothing to worry about."
Jeanette smiled at her husband's voice. If only he was here with her, than maybe she wouldn't continue to go crazy.
"Thanks Si. Look I gotta go. I'll talk to you later. Love you."
"Bye, love you too."
Hanging up, Jeanette drove out of the car park and made her way home, worrying thoughts still happily dancing around in the back of her mind.
