Chapter 4

One happy family

Okay so I know I would have normally updated by now, but family has been in town and procrastination has been my life this week on several accounts. I'm really sorry I haven't updated and I'm going to try to stick to a schedule when I can. The schedule is probably going to be Tuesdays and Fridays, but no promises. Thank you to everyone who reviewed/favorited/followed!

Disclaimer: Big Hero 6 is not mine and this chapter will be short

Hospital

(Third person)

Hiro opened my eyes and immediately shut them because of the harsh, white light that was shining directly in my face. His entire body was aching and sore, like he hasn't moved for years. He could feel something light covering him, warming him from the frigid air in the outside world.

So, this is what it's like to be dead, he thought. He always figured that his eternal life after death would be more or less free of pain, but he guessed wrong it seemed like.

He was happy, though. Extremely happy. He could probably jump for joy if his body wasn't so sore. He could probably run a marathon. He would be here. He had to be, or it all would be wasted. His time on Earth gone.

Tadashi had to be here.

He thought he would be greeted with eternal bliss when he woke up from his death. A life, well, death, that would be fully suited to his every need and want. A death where he, Tadashi and Aunt Cass (when she joined them) could be one happy family again. A death where none of them would have to go through their personal sufferings ever again.

He was wrong.

Tadashi was shocked. He couldn't move, couldn't talk, couldn't speak. He was gapping at the sight that lay before him. The sight of Hiro, his precious Hiro, awake to the world, and a grimace on his face.

"Tadashi?"

She must have sensed that something was wrong.

"Tadashi are you all right?"

"Tadashi!

Aunt Cass ran over to him, a look of worry in her eyes.

"Tada-"

She stopped cold at the sight that lay before her. Hiro, while his eyes were not open, was clearly awake from his perpetual slumber. He had a slight grimace upon his face, and his fists were clenching and unclenching, as if trying to test his pain.

"Oh my god, Hiro!", she practically screamed as she ran to go get the doctor, Tadashi soon following suit.

She soon found the doctor, casually talking to some of the nurses that worked under him.

"Doctor! Hiro is awake!"

The doctor taking care of Hiro had a look of bewilderment on his face for a few seconds because the probability that Hiro was going to wake up was quickly dwindling. He honestly thought that the boy He then quickly assembled the nurses and walked quickly to Hiro's room. He saw Hiro still had the grimace on his face and deducted that pain medicine was the best way to go. After that, he would run the tests and ask him the basic questions.

He had a nurse inject his I.V. with light pain medicine, the kind that was for minor pain, meaning there would be no unwanted side-effects. After all, he needed the boy to be able to answer the standard questions.

Hiro thought he heard voices earlier, but quickly dismissed it as his imagination. He needed to see how well his limbs were working then he would go and try to find Tadashi. His attempts were in vain, though, as he could only move his hand efficiently. Everything else put too much strain on his fail, fragile body.

He kept trying to move for a few minutes until he heard voices again. They sounded relatively closer, and they were easier to make out, but he could tell he was still missing some things. He heard something about pain medication and questions that someone needs to ask him, but he missed everything else.

He kept trying to move his body more, and gradually felt some of the pain of his sore joints go away, but he continued to ignore the people talking around him, figuring that he could just ask about it later. He had better thing to do at the moment, like forming a plan to find Tadashi if he wasn't already there. He continued to do this until he heard something distinct.

Something directed at him.

Someone asked him a question.

He missed what they were saying, though. He was too busy thinking about someone asking him a question, then listening to the question itself.

"What?", he heard himself mumble softly.

"I said Hiro, do you know what happened?"

I know that this was a pretty weak chapter, but it was the best I could come up with at the moment. Again, I'm sorry. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and have a great night/day!

(Apparently, I never uploaded this chapter? So, sorry for the really long wait. I had this ready weeks ago and I could have sworn I posted this. 11/12/18)
