Poor Shadow. All by his lonesome self. Until he gets some unexpected company. But he still feels lonely. Come on Shadow! Be happy you have some company!

Shadow sat up and stared at the window, flashes of lightning illuminating the sky. He sighed and laid back down, laying his head on his hands. He closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep as Sonic had suggested, but his attempts were futile. He got back up and walked over to the window, waiting for Sonic to return so he'd have some company.

"I don't wanna be alone...I just want some company..." Shadow said sighing and lying back down.

He only got a small amount of sleep before waking up again from a loud crack of thunder. He sat up, noticing that the power went out.

"Great..." Shadow mumbled, rubbing his eyes. "I wish Sonic was back...I'm so lonely..."

He continued to wait for Sonic, falling in and out of sleep several times. He finally gave up on sleeping and just sat alone in the dark. His eyes began to water.

"I feel like I'm secluded. Hidden away from everyone..." his voice was shaky.

He turned his back to the door, closing his eyes again. He whimpered silently to himself.

'Just calm down Shadow. Calm down and everything will be alright,' Shadow thought to himself.

He fell asleep again, this time staying asleep for longer. He woke up once again due to some shuffling outside. He raised his head and looked at the door.

"Sonic?"

He sat up, his ears twitching.

"S-Sonic?" He repeated.

The doorknob turned, someone was trying to get in, but the door was locked. Shadow tried to sink into the couch, not wanting to go near the door. He eventually got up slowly as the doorknob continued to turn quickly. He unlocked the door and opened it slowly, kind of happy the lights were out. He relaxed when he saw who was at the door.

"Shadow?" Amy's voice traveled through the air.

"A-Amy?"

"Shadow is that you?" She asked.

"Y-yea...i-it's me..." he sighed.

"You look different," Amy said.

"I-I know...I feel really strange..." he said.

"Can I come in? Where's Sonic? Amy asked.

Shadow opened the door, allowing Amy to come inside.

"He, he went to go look for Silver," Shadow said.

Amy looked at Shadow as he went back over to the couch and once again laid back down.

"Oh. Well, how come you look like that?" Amy asked.

Shadow sighed, laying his head on his hands again.

"Hell if I know..." he said quietly.

"Oh..." Amy frowned.

Shadow looked at her and then at the floor. Amy could easily see he was bummed out.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"I didn't want Sonic to leave..." Shadow admitted.

"Oh. Why?"

"I didn't wanna be alone..." Shadow said.

"Oh. Well I'm here now, so are ya still lonely?" Amy asked.

"Not really..." Shadow said, sighing.

"You're still kinda lonely, aren't ya Shadow?" Amy asked.

"Y-...yea...I am..." Shadow admitted.

"Sonic will be back I'm sure of it," Amy said, trying to reassure Shadow.

Shadow hoped she was right. Amy sat down by him and stroked his fur, coaxing him to just relax.

"I can only hope you're right Ames..."
