When Jaune landed, he was in the middle of the forest. He could have flew to the area where the relics were but he wanted to fight some Grimm. Luckily Trevor must of saw this and landed just about a hundred meters north of him. He started to walk north until he saw red eyes to his left. He got his claymore ready, in a under swing position. Beowolves charged Jaune, but he just stood there waiting for his moment. The first one jumped towards him which was a mistake.
Jaune slashed up cutting the Grimm in two. He then did a whole 360 body swing killing a few more. Those that were left charged him at once. Jaune quickly pulled out his side arm with his right hand and shot the remaining the beowolves in the chests, killing them. Then the alpha one came out. Jaune reloaded his pistol and put it back into its holster. "Why hello there pup." Jaune said happily. "Let me show you what a real wolf can do." Jaune threw his sword over hand hitting the Grimm in its left shoulder, and charged it. The Grimm tried to take out the blade but couldn't so it tried to swipe at Jaune with its good arm but Jaune rolled under it and last the Grimm. He kicked its back legs, knocking it over. He climbed on its back and jumped up, landing on its head with both feet, killing it.
He picked his claymore back up and sheathed it. He used his ears to listen for anyone or thing nearby. He noticed that most people and Faunus were to his right him moving towards him, one a lot faster than the rest. But he also noticed a faint noise about 50 meters to his left. He noticed that most Grimm to his left are dying but there were a lot to his back and right. He turned left and walked towards what he hoped was Trevor, but also got ready for a fight.
After 30 seconds he stopped when he heard a noise above him. He smiled before he talked. "Hey T." Jaune said happily.
"Hey J." Trevor said. He jumped down from his branch with one knee in the dirt.
"Which way is north?" Jaune asked.
"Behind me. Should we walk or fly?" Trevor asked.
"Let's walk. We might fight more Grimm." Jaune answered.
"Okay. Come on. I'll take 1st spot." Trevor said walking north with Jaune behind him. They walked the remainder of the way to the spot with the relics. The few Grimm they encountered were dealt with quickly. " Chess pieces?" Trevor scratched his head.
"Guess so." Jaune said looking over the remaining pieces. "Looks like people were here before us."
"Which piece should we pick?" Trevor asked not caring what was picked.
"That's helpful." Jaune said sarcastically. Trevor shrugged in return. "Then we got the black knight piece."
"Okay." Trevor said. Then a pack of beowolves came out of the forest. Jaune was about to attack them before Trevor stopped him. "I got 'em." Trevor took out his sniper and went prone. He whistled and the Grimm started running towards them. Trevor then shot the first one in the head then moved to the next then the next until they all died. He reloaded his mag with a fresh one. "Easy."
"Show off." Jaune joked. Both of them laughed at that. "Let's sit for a few minutes before heading back. We flew a lot of the way."
"Alright." Trevor said. The both sat down with their backs leaning on pedestals. After 5 minutes they got up to leave. Before they could Yang and Blake walked through the forest.
"Hey Jaune! Hey Trevor!" Yang called out. Both waved in response. When Yang and Blake reached them they saw they had a relic. "Already got one?"
"Yeah. They're chess pieces." Jaune responded.
"Great." Yang said before pouting a little with her arms underneath her breasts. "I would have thought that we would have been first." Blake just eyed her confused. Trevor just sighed and facepalmed. Jaune was laughing in his head.
"Maybe hustle up next time." Jaune teased. "After all, nobody but Trevor can beat me." That got a reaction out of Yang.
"Oh really. How about we have a spar then." Yang said pumped.
"I would like that. But first go pick up a relic." Jaune said.
"Yeah." Yang said before her and Blake went to go pick a black knight piece. Then Jaune got ready to fight with Trevor not a second after. Blake and Yang ran to see what was happening until a Ursa ran out of the forest with a girl in pink on its back.
"Aww its broken." The girl said sadly. The. A guy in green walked next to the Grimm and leaned on it huffing. The girl then appeared behind then with a rook. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!" She sang happily.
"Nora!" The guy yelled.
"Coming Ren!" Nora called back. She then skipped to Ren who walked up to the four of them.
"Did she just ride in on a Ursa?" Blake asked. Yang just sat there with their mouths open. Jaune and Trevor just looked unamused at this. Then they heard a bird call. A huge nevermore appeared with Ruby and Weiss in its claws.
"Trevor." Jaune sighed. Trevor then took aim and shot the nevermore 3 times. One in it head and one on each wing, brining the nevermore down. Jaune and Trevor then grew back their wings and flew to catch them. Jaune caught Ruby and Trevor caught Weiss, then they put them back down to the ground. Before anything could happen Trevor spoke up.
"What the heck were you two doing!" Trevor yelled. Before he got an answer three girls ran out of the forest with a deathstalker on their tales. "Fuck it." He sighed before pulled back out his sniper and shot its legs so it couldn't move, then reloaded. "Okay you 5 go pick up your relics. I'm going to kill the death stalker. Jaune."
"I got it. I got it." Jaune said. Both walked to the deathstalker but out of the range of its claws and stinger. "Shoot?"
"Yeah." Trevor replied. Both then shot the eyes of the Grimm with a magazine. They put in more ammo and turned around to see everyone stare wide-eyed at them. But Jaune noticed an odd number of people.
"Who doesn't have a partner?" Jaune asked. Pyrrha rose her hand at this. "I see two options for you. One you can come with us back to the cliffs and find you a partner. Or second you stay here In the open while we leave."
"All initioniates evacuate the forest and retreat to the cliffs." Ozpin said over the radios all over the forest.
"What the?" Yang asked.
"I don't know." Blake replied.
"Let's head back to beacon." Weiss said. "Something must be wrong."
"Agreed." Ren said. Then they turned to hear rustling in the woods and got ready to fight.
Earlier on the cliffs.
"This year seems to be interesting." Ozpin said.
"Indeed. But it seems that Ms.Nikos doesn't have a partner yet." Goodwitch replied while looking at her tablet.
"There is still time left Glynda. Don't… worry." Ozpin said slowly before he saw something out of the corner of the camera. "Glynda What is that?"
"A shadow?" Glynda questioned. Then they saw it move and stand on four big legs. The body was out of the picture. "What is that?"
"I don't know. Move the camera." Ozpin said as Glynda did as she was told to do. Then they gasped as they saw the beast. While its legs weren't covered in armor every other part was. It's body was that of a lion with 3 tails on its back instead of 1. The head was that of a dragon. It also had wings with feathers on it.
"What is that?!" Glynda yelled. She saw it move towards the 11 students. "We must evacuate the forest Ozpin and stop it."
"Agreed." Ozpin said.
Back in the forest
9 of hunters and huntresses were shocked by this. Jaune and Trevor were ready to to fight until there last breath. The other 9 on the other hand were scared beyond all belief. They were taken out of this shock when Trevor started shooting the beast.
"Fall back. Me and Trevor will cover!" Jaune ordered.
"We can-" Ruby started.
"No you can't. Just run to the cliffs. Me and Trevor will be right behind you!" Jaune yelled before pulling out his pistol and shooting at the beast. The 9 other hunters saw this and ran fast to the cliffs. When they were out of his hearing distance he sighed. He looked over and saw the beast retreating into the tree line and Trevor reloading.
"Damn another one." Trevor sighed.
"Yeah another one." Jaune said tiredly. He looked over and saw a skull and crossbones on the magazine of Trevor's sniper. "Are those."
"Yep." Trevor said. They turned and saw the beast behind them. "Well I don't got any C4." Trevor said sarcastically. "Everyone else retreated. And we are probably in the only opening in the entire forest. This is a great place to die." Trevor said sarcastically.
"Shut up and get ready. If we die, then let us send this beast into oblivion." Jaune cheered. The beast charged at them as the both dodged opposite sides of it. Trevor started shooting at its sides and Jaune shooting at its opening. It used charged at Jaune and as he tried to roll at of its way, it hit him with its tails, knocking him into a tree.
"Come here." Trevor said angrily. He reloaded again and this time broke through its armor plating and damaged its side. The beast opened its wings up and launched some of its feathers at Trevor. He managed to dodge most of them but some went and hit his armor and made him hit the ground. "Ow."
By this time Jaune has gotten back up and jumped on the beast's back and started stabbing it where there wasn't any armor. The beast started to try and get him off by using its tails or by trying to buck him off. The beast ran and hit a tree making Jaune fly off. The beast ran up and was about to jump on him before a shot rang out and the beast missed Jaune my a few inches.
Jaune was Trevor standing up with a explosive bullet magazine loaded. Jaune got the memo and ran towards Trevor as he kept on shooting the beast. The beast ran back into the forest and roared. "Aw shit." Trevor sighed. "It just had to do that didn't it."
"Back to back." Jaune said. Trevor put away his gun and got his blade out. Jaune got into a defensive posture with his blade. After a minute Grimm appeared out of the forest. "Trevor I can use my semblance with high effect."
"Wait till bigger Grimm or the beast arrive." Trevor said.
"Planning on it." Jaune replied. The beast reappeared with two deathstalkers. One on each side. "Well that's convenient."
"Indeed. Going to fight first?" Trevor asked.
"No way. We need to head to the cliffs." Jaune said.
"Fine." Trevor sighed sadly.
Jaune laughed at this. He stabbed his blade into the ground and went on one knee. He started pushing his aura into the blade. Gold glyphs of the Arc symbol appeared around him, Then a white bubble shield appeared around both of them and the glyphs around that. After a few seconds the glyphs went out and exploded, killing the many of the Grimm; including the beast and the deathstalkers. When the bubble went down Jaune was breathing hard while Trevor guarded him.
The remaining Grimm attacked but were no match for Trevor, even though he was defending Jaune. When there were two Grimm left Jaune managed to stand up with some support from his sword. "Come out!" Trevor yelled. Jaune looked at the spot in the forest where 13 people came out of.
