Smooth Criminal

Ana carefully pinned her hair back up into its usual bun, adjusting her corset as he went

"You know, it'd make much more sense for you and your girls to just stay here at the Iceberg with me," the Penguin stated, smoking a cigar on the bed, and Ana chuckled good naturedly.

"You and your men may enjoy having us nearby, but I doubt Harvey and the Joker's men vill feel the same way," Ana chuckled. He rolled over to face her better.

"What about when they're out of the picture?" he asked. She smirked and leaned over to get closer.

"Vell vhen you vin the gang var and Arkham City is yours… I'll have the champagne ready," she smiled. He smirked back, giving her one last peck on the lips, before she got up and flounced out, hips swaying as she went.

Neither noticed the device on the heel of her boot.

*2 Hours Earlier*

"This is a mad plan," Alice stated.

"It's a good plan," Chase argued, fiddling with her monitors in her little alcove, all of which showed TYGEr security camera footage, blueprints, and security readouts of Cyrus Pinkney's Institute for Natural History, all received via the bug planted on Madame Ana Andreyev's boot, which activated the moment she started on her way to Cobblepot's.

"We're all going to die," Veronica realized.

"We're not going to die," Jeannie denied.

"If Penguin doesn't murder us, Ana will," Candy confirmed, Tracey nodding in agreement next to her.

"Except they won't kill us, because they're not going to find out," Gilda and Grace chimed in.

"I love how you all have such faith in me," Lucy snarked over the com channel. She was currently running and flipping over the rooftops of Arkham City, taking care not to get spotted.

"Or me," Chase huffed. "There's a reason I'm one of the best hackers in Arkham City."

"Except, aren't you in Arkham City because you got caught?"

"It's not that we don't have faith in you two, it's just that…" Candy trailed off.

"We don't," Tracey stated bluntly.

"So much could go wrong," Veronica offered.

"That's why I didn't bring you guys," Lucy said softly. They were silent for a moment, taking in the implications of this phrase.

"You should've at least taken one of us with you. Provide cover or something," Jeannie suggested.

"Too risky. Besides, I can't pretend I'm an Assassin for the League if I have a sniper with me," Lucy maintained. She crawled across the lower levels glass ceiling and hid by clinging to the rails below their range of vision, surveying the security in front of the door. Chase leaned forward as she reviewed the TYGER security feeds.

"I think the guys with guns are too far away to do much, so just take of those guys as quickly and quietly as possible. Don't waste smoke pellets or any other tricks on them if you can help it. Be careful of the guard with the car door, aerial maneuver should take care of him," Chase supplied. Lucy gave a nod, before quickly pulling herself up over the railing, using a whip to grab one of the thugs wrists and pull him toward her. She knocked his head into the marble rail, before leaping up and grabbing two guys around the necks with her arms and ankles and throwing them to the ground with her weight. She counter the fourth guy's blows, giving him some quick blows to the face, ears, and stomach, before finishing him off with a kick to her head.

"Chase, password."

"On it," Chase responded. A few swipes of the key later, and the bars went down. Lucy quickly walked through before coming to the atrium, two sets of staircases leading to the lower levels of the museums. She stepped forward.

ROAR!

A T-Rex head came out of nowhere, causing Lucy to leap back, but stay silent. The girls on the other end of the line did not.

"Okay, I'm not going to let you guys listen in if you blow out my eardrums whenever something like this happens, ow," Lucy shook her head in hopes of shaking off the sound of .

"Sorry," Alice apologized with the group, everyone sounding very sheepish. "It's just, everyone's on edge.
"Don't I know it," Lucy huffed. She saw some goons down guarding the lower level so she quickly used some of her equipment to climb to the grating above the T-Rex, before leaping down behind them. Staying out of their sight, she raced toward the door on the other end of the hall, opening it to an unexpected sight and feeling, as the temperature dropped fifty degrees in five seconds flat. This was largely due to the fact that the majority of the room, with exception to the small harbors that led to other areas of the museum, was completely flooded, with a thin layer of ice on the surface.

"Why a frozen lake indoors. I done seen everything," Lucy snarked with a bad southern twang. The girls chuckled. "I don't suppose just walking across it would be a good idea."

"Unless you've got shark repellent, I wouldn't suggest it," Veronica noted. Lucy winced. Of course Cobblepot would have a fucking shark in his headquarters.

"The armory's to the right," Chase informed Lucy, who turned her head in the direction to give her the scope of the scene. "You got your climbing gear right?" The techie inquired.

"I'm insulted you even need to ask," Lucy smirked, quickly jumping up and using her climbing gloves and boots to latch on to the grating, before moving gracefully across to the other side. Once she was across, she dropped down onto the other level platform and carefully crept through the halls. Opening the door to the armory, she walked in on the sight of several highly armed guards perusing the perimeter.

"They have heart rate monitors so-"

"Stealth only if at all possible," Lucy finished. She could do this. Thankfully, Gotham buildings had a strange tradition of building gargoyles inside the building (Grace always figured it was to drive away the evil inside as well as outside). Climbing and swinging to those, using the grates, and just creeping behind the thugs, Lucy managed to get to the display cases where Cobblepot showcased his collection of military grade explosives. "Jackpot," she smiled and she heard the other girls cheering and clapping back in HQ.

She packed away only a few high grade explosives in order to keep Cobblepot from suspecting anything, before vanishing like a shadow into the night.
